While the 2012 Mustang GTs came with a factory-rated 412 horsepower, we here at Stage 3 Motorsports decided that our 2012 Mustang GT 5.0L Project Car just needed some more horsepower and torque. We naturally started with the basics and grabbed ourselves the usual array of power-adding bolt-ons that you'd start with on a bone-stock car. We grabbed ourselves a painted JLT cold air intake decked out in Ingot Silver to start off, and paired it with a required SCT 91 octane canned tune to get it running all nice and pretty.
To help squeeze some more power out of the car, we also threw on a 2011-2014 Mustang GT BBK Throttle Body. The BBK unit has an extremely easy install, and simply drops into place of the stock throttle body as an easy bolt-on part. The BBK 85mm throttle body gave our project car a nice bump in horsepower and torque, and it's low-effort installation was just icing on the cake.
Last, but most definitely not least, we used an SCT X4 Handheld tuner to add a 91 octane SCT CAI preloaded tne to our 2012 Mustang GT Project Car to help bring all of its modifications together and getting running fast, mean, and powerful. The new tuning helped bring the car to life and made it much more enjoyable to drive.
