Mercifully, Wheels and Tires
Parts Installed: Ultimate Performance UP100 19x8.5" Matte Black Wheels, Ultimate Performance UP100 19x9.5" Matte Black Wheels, BF Goodrich G-Force Sport-T Comp-2 245/45R19, BF Goodrich G-Force Sport-T Comp-2 275/40R19, 2015 Mustang Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Springs.
Despite our base model of base model 2015 EcoBoost Mustang Project Car coming with a surprising amount of features (including a rear-view camera, a nice interior, power mirrors, and even an engine and transmission), base model wheels mean toy-like 17" wheels and tires that look better at home on a minivan than our soon-to-be sports car Ford Mustang. So, 15 minutes after we got our photos of the car in bone-stock format, off it went to get new wheels and tires thrown on it. Needless to say, the end result was pretty impressive and made a huge difference in how the car looked:
Just like most vehicles, a little less sidewall and a hell of a lot more wheel was just what the doctor ordered, and the matte black UP100s look amazing against the Competition Orange paint job. Our EcoStang was now sitting pretty and waiting for its next round of modifications, and to get even more crazy with its black on orange styling theme.
With our Mustang's wheels and tires all squared away, we got ourselves a set of 2015 Mustang Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Springs. The springs closed up our Pony's wheel gap and gave it much more spritely handling on top of its improvements in the looks department. The springs dropped our Mustang's ride height down by just over 3/4" in front and a full 1" in the rear.
