The 09-14 F150's are good looking trucks from factory but they still leave a lot of room for aftermarket improvement in terms of visuals and utility. We started beefing up our F150 project truck by adding a BAKflip tonneau cover, Undercover Swing Case, WeatherTech mud flaps and a Smittybilt bull bar. Check out all the details below!
We started off our bed overhaul with a BAKFlip HD Folding Tonneau Cover. The BAKFlip HD is one of the toughest tonneau covers that our friends over at BAK offer, and is made out of durable, light weight aluminum panels that can be folded back to allow full access to the truck bed. This hard-folding tonneau easily clamps on without drilling and provides protection against rain, snow and dirt. Unfortunately, we no longer offer this specific tonneau cover, but check out our similar selection of 6.5ft tonneau covers.
Having items and tools tumbling around in our F150's bed isn't typically ideal so we grabbed ourselves an Undercover Driver's Side Swing Case. The Swing Case has a unique, locking hinge design that keeps it locked to the side of the bed and out of the way to maximize bed space while allowing for storage of tools and gear. When you need access to the Swing Case, you just pull its handle and the case swings out toward your tailgate, making it simple to juggle your cargo, tools, and gear around. Sometimes a full steel off-road bumper can be excessive, but it's still nice to have some amount of protection and a place to mount lights so that's where the Smittybilt Bull Guard comes in. This bull bar is made with extremely strong 3" stainless steel tubing that bolts directly to the truck in place of the front tow hooks. Ours installed without any trouble and the black powder coat perfectly matches our truck's black and blue color scheme. We have discontinued this specific bull bar. Shop F150 Bull Bars to find the perfect alternative for your build.
We aren't exactly known for keeping our project vehicles clean or pristine. To help keep our 2013 F150 just a bit cleaner than otherwise, we grabbed a full set of WeatherTech No-Drill Digital Fit Mudflaps. WeatherTech's mudflaps have a simple, low-profile design and are just big enough to keep extra grime off our truck's doors and bedsides without looking too gaudy. As their name pretty much implies, these mudflaps install without drilling, making it extremely easy to get these bad boys mounted and keeping your truck at least a little bit cleaner.
