The list of lighting upgrades on this F150 build is extensive, but each one we added or replaced has only made this truck look better and shine brighter off road. We've done everything on this truck from Anzo smoked taillights all the way to extremely powerful KC 6" off-road lights! Read below to get all the details on each lighting upgrade we installed! You can purchase these exact lighting mods in the product section at the bottom of this page.
After installing the N-Fab Light Bar on the front of our F150, we needed to get some lights to mount on it. We turned to our friends over at KC HiLites and their 6" Pro Sport G6 Gravity Series Off-Road LED Lights to give our truck off-road light output that we can be proud of. We got two pairs of Pro Sport Lights, mounted them up to our N-Fab Light Bar, and wired them all into a single switch, giving us immense light output at the push of a button. The Pro Sports are amazingly powerful, and throw out enough light so that you can spot anything out on the trail after dark with absolutely no problems. Getting powerful, roof-mounted off-road lighting doesn't mean you have to settle for a standard light bar just like everyone else, and our friends at KC HiLites are here to prove it with their Pro6 Gravity Series 57" Light Bar Kit. This arced bar is made up of 9 KC Pro6 LED lights that are capable of casting light out over 1700 meters. Its hard to argue with the performance and the Baja race truck appearance is a great fit for this F150 build. It's also worth mentioning that this kit includes the roof mount brackets and hardware for the F150's cab so you get a professional quality install. ANZO's Switchback LED Outline Headlights have been on our shortlist of "must-haves" since they were announced. They're a slight tweak on the already extremely awesome LED Outline Projector Headlights, but add a nice twist with a Switchback Outline that has both an amber turn signal function and white parking light function. These headlights created a much more aggressive look for the front of our truck and they also looked great with the Oracle H7 LED bulb conversion we did. Looking at the photos it's not hard to see why this set up blows the factory reflector headlights out of the water. 2015-2017 F150 ANZO Switchback LED Outline Projector Headlights
NOTE: Oracle has discontinued this H7 bulb kit and replaced it with an updated, high output version Oracle 4000 Lumen H7 LED Headlight Bulb Kit
The H7 halogen bulbs in our F150 were far from impressive and with all the LED's we've been adding, the yellow tint in the headlights was becoming very noticeable. The Oracle H7 LED conversion kit for F150s with aftermarket headlights greatly improved the light output of our Anzo headlights, all with a fairly simple, plug-and-play install. The clean white color of the Oracle bulbs looks awesome paired up with the LED outline on our Anzo headlights.
We wanted to match our truck's taillights to the black look of the ANZO headlights. To make it happen, we grabbed a pair of ANZO Smoked LED Taillights to replace our red halogen taillights. The ANZO taillights feature a red LED outline strip and a smoked housing with built-in LED grids that do the signaling. They're a great match to the ANZO headlights and really helped bring together our truck's styling theme. 2015-2017 F150 ANZO Smoked LED Outline Taillights
With the headlights and taillights now sporting an aggressive, blacked out look, our 2015 F150's fog lights were sticking out like a sore thumb. To fix that issue, we got ourselves a set of Putco's 2015-2017 F150 Luminix LED Fog Lights. The Putco Luminix Fog Lights replace the entire fog light assembly and use three high-powered LEDs to produce a ton of light. With their black housings, these lights blend right into the fog light buckets and our truck's overall black on white color scheme. 2015-2017 F150 Putco Luminix LED Fog Lights
Getting rid of the yellowish glow of the basic incandescent lights around our project truck was one of our stated quests, and with just about everything else replaced, the only boring stock bulbs left were the license plate bulbs. We very quickly swapped them out with Diode Dynamic's LED Replacement License Plate Bulbs in the Cool White HP3 variant. The LEDs produce a bright, vibrant white light that fits in much better with the rest of our F150's lighting scheme and improves the plate lighting, of course. 2011-2017 F150 Diode Dynamics LED License Plate Bulbs
We love these Raptor Style LED Grille Light Kits and we've installed them on a couple of our other F150 project trucks. While they don't have a specific function, they look awesome and are cheap and easy to install which was plenty enough reason to put a set on this 2015 F150 build. This specific kit is designed for F150's with XLT style grilles and it has very clean and factory looking fit. 2015-2017 F150 XLT Raptor Style LED Amber Grille Light Kit
With Anzo headlights and taillights on our F150 it was only logical for us to keep the theme going by swapping out our 3rd brake light with Anzo's Smoked LED Third Brake Light. This brake light is an awesome plug and play replacement that has a dark smoked out lens and uses LED's instead of of bland stock incandescent bulbs. With the black on white color theme we have for this F150, the Anzo is a perfect fit. 2015-2017 F150 ANZO Smoked LED Third Brake Light
