The past few months, we have watched the world get turned upside down due to the global Coronavirus pandemic. While times are tough, all of us here at Stage 3 Motorsports like to turn to our comfort zone: mean off-road trucks. We want to give everyone an opportunity to bring some normalcy back to life during Covid-19. Modifying your truck doesn't have to break your bank, especially during these uncertain times. If your 2019-2020 Ford Ranger hasn't received modifications yet, you don't have to wait to turn your midsize truck into an off-road machine. It is certainly possible to beef up your Ranger without spending too much dough. The mentioned parts will make a huge impact on your Ranger and are high-quality despite their low prices. We recommend some budget leveling spacers, tuning devices, panel air filters, and tires to help out your Ranger.

2019-2020 Ford Ranger Budget Leveling Spacers

I think we can agree that the Ranger sits a little too low to the ground for an off-road truck build. You can't fit aggressive tires onto it and it leaves you vulnerable to dangerous obstacles on treacherous trails. Not to mention, the poor rake just isn't fitting of a Ford truck. While the flashy thing to do would be to add a complete coilover leveling kit, it would not be the most budget friendly decision. To add a bit of height to your Ranger, we recommend a simple Leveling Spacer Kit. This is the most cost-effective option to fix that awful looking front rake and to have your Ranger perform better on dirt trails. Check out the 2019-2020 Ford Ranger 4WD Zone 2" Front Leveling Kit first. This Zone leveling kit uses a smaller top mounted steel strut spacer and a preload spacer to add 2" of height! It also effectively kills that front rake we all despise and allows for 32.7" off-road tires. Best of all, it won't overextend your driveline angle like some cheap spacer kits irresponsibly cause. If your budget is slightly larger, take a look at the 2019-2020 Ford Ranger FactionFab 2.5" Leveling Spacer Kit for your leveling needs. The FactionFab spacer leveling kit adds more height than its Zone counterpart, with 2.5" of lift instead of 2". This extra half an inch might not sound like much, but when you're trying to protect your Ranger investment, it makes a difference. With a high-quality 6061-T6 billet aluminum body and coated steel studs with flared nuts, your kit will withstand any abuse you may encounter from obstacles. Both spacers easily bolt on between the factory top hat and the frame without any permanent modifications, making it quicker and easier for you to get out of the garage and out in muddy paradise!

2019-2020 Ford Ranger Tires

The stock tires on the Ranger are more geared for the highway, so you'll want to swap them out for some beefy aftermarket ones. This keeps you safer off-road and provides a more fitting, comfortable ride. However, getting off-road tires can quickly become pricey, especially when you have to fit four of them to your truck. Better tires don't necessarily have to break your bank, however. There are plenty of options to get a quality tire that can effectively grip mud, snow and more at a budget price! Falken and Toyo both offer excellent tires for your Ranger build! The 265/70R18 Falken WildPeak All-Terrain A/T3W Off-Road Tire has a nice balance of off-road capability and highway use. It uses an all-terrain pattern that can handle light-to-moderate off-roading effectively. Tough sides walls help deflect rocks and keep out mud so your tires stay clean and uninhibited. An interlocking tread design also gives you more control on off-road paths! The Wild Peak has a 32.9 tire diameter and a speed rating of T. Another favorable choice is the P265/70R18 Toyo Open Country A/T II All-Terrain Tire. Toyo's All-Terrain tire also allows for excellent street and dirt travel capability! It can crush the trails while remaining relatively quiet on the freeway. With reinforced tread blocks, the Toyo tire is perfect for bad road conditions if things get a bit icy. An aggressive sidewall also helps you get through whatever is in your way. The Open Country measures 32.6" in diameter has a speed rating of S.

2019-2020 Ford Ranger Tuning Devices

Once your Ranger has the tires to conquer whatever you need, it also helps to tune your Ranger accordingly. This helps you to get an optimal ride and to boost your 2.3L EcoBoost's power and torque. Turn your attention to our Custom Tuning section for more details. While SCT and Bull Dog BDX tuning devices offer so much boost to your engine's capability, they don't exactly fit under a budget build due to their pre-loaded tunes. We instead have to suggest the 2019-2020 Ford Ranger Hypertech Speedometer Calibration Tool to get your truck optimized for your new tires. The Hypertech Speedometer works by calibrating your speedometer and odometer for tire size. Without this upgrade, your Ranger's computer will not show the correct speed and mileage because of the truck's altered final drive ratio. To learn more about how the calibration tool works and how to install it, check out our video below! In order to unlock performance upgrades, the Hypertech REACT Off-Road Throttle Optimizer is a phenomenal choice. You can control the intensity of your throttle to help get more or less out of your vehicles performance with a turn of a knob between five different stages. Modes are included for better off-road performance with "mud/sand" and "crawl" settings to help you control your truck in these environments. These settings can quickly be adjusted while driving to ensure maximum safety in ever changing weather, road conditions, and off-road obstacles.

2019-2020 Ford Ranger Panel Air Filters

Another place to add more performance upgrade at a nice price is in the 2019-2020 Ford Ranger 2.3L EcoBoost Cold Air Intakes section. While adding a full replacement cold air intake adds great boosts, for the most economical of builds, slipping in an air filter gives a lot of bang-for-your-buck! Air filters allow for so much more flow and are much more convenient than your OEM filter. The 2019-2020 Ford Ranger 2.3L EcoBoost aFe Magnum FLOW Pro DRY S Air Filter uses a tough 360-degree frame and a three-layered oil-free synthetic media to maximize performance and capture dust particles. Even when dirty, the filter will free up airflow better than your stock application. The filter is also convenient because of its washable, reusable design that doesn't even require oil! For a little more investment, you can also get a 2019-2020 Ford Ranger K&N Drop-In Replacement Filter. This high-quality filter noticeably improves horsepower, gas mileage and overall performance even over its aftermarket competitors. You can't pass up the filter's high-flow technology and the value of letting your truck breathe easier. K&N's filter also uses a reusable design so it's the last air filter your Ranger will ever need.
