Heat is the enemy of performance. High temperatures rob you of horsepower and torque and increase the risk of detonation in factory supercharged Terminator Cobras, SVT Lightnings, and Shelby GT500s. Temperatures really start to get out of hand when you start stacking on powerful supercharger modifications like smaller pulleys that increase your supercharger's boost pressure. The denser air charge naturally carries with it more heat which can lead to a loss of performance, knocking, or even pre-ignition of your air/fuel mixture. Knocking and detonation are inherently bad for engine and can lead to a catastrophic failure if not treated properly. 2003 to 2004 Cobras, 1999 to 2004 Lightnings, and 2007 to 2012 Shelby GT500s come with both intercoolers and heat exchangers for their supercharger systems, but the factory heat exchangers are pretty basic single-pass systems that do well enough with stock supercharger configurations, but start to hinder performance when you start modding out your supercharger. When heat starts to get you down, it's time to jump up to an AFCO heat exchanger. All of AFCO's performance heat exchangers have a dual-pass design and are built specifically to lower your coolant temperatures and make your intercooler and supercharger work more efficiently and more reliably.

2007-2012 GT500 AFCO Pro-Series Heat Exchanger

2007 to 2012 Shelby GT500

AFCO has two flavors of heat exchangers for your mighty 2007 to 2012 GT500, depending on just how monstrous you're supercharger upgrades happen to be. First up is their standard GT500 dual-pass heat exchanger that has much greater cooling potential than stock. The AFCO dual pass heat exchanger is a direct bolt-on replacement for your factory heat exchanger. For truly powerful supercharger upgrades and very high-boost applications there's the AFCO Pro Series heat exchanger system that features dual 11" cooling fans. The fans constantly circulate air through the heat exchanger's large, dual-pass design and provides up to 350% more cooling capacity than stock and will preserve both your performance and life of your motor. The cooling fans come with a full wiring harness that allows your a fairly straightforward setup with your Shelby's electrical system.

2003 to 2004 SVT Cobras

The Terminator Cobras also get two options for AFCO performance heat exchangers. The first is a basic dual-pass heat exchanger upgrade that flawlessly fits into the front lower grille area of your Cobra as a direct replacement for your weak single-pass stock heat exchanger. Much like the GT500s, there is an extremely powerful version with dual cooling fans built in for extremely powerful SVT Cobras who are in desperate need of serious cooling considerations. With two fans helping to push air through the larger than stock, dual pass assembly, the AFCO Pro Series heat exchanger is able to keep your coolant temperatures much lower than stock and allow you to use even more awesome supercharger upgrades than ever before.

AFCO SVT Cobra Pro-Series Heat Exchanger

All of AFCO's performance heat exchangers are manufactured out of extremely lightweight aluminum to save as much weight as possible while still providing the extra level of cooling performance that you desperately need when you start to stack on horsepower upgrades. All of the joints are expertly TIG welded to ensure leak-free function and guaranteed strength. Within the dual-pass system of each heat exchanger is AFCO's unique core designs that increase cooling performance. All of AFCO's heat exchangers are direct bolt-on replacements for your stock heat exchangers. The versions with cooling fans come with wiring harnesses and connectors to make their installation and operation as simple as possible. Really, AFCO doesn't leave much to lose and everything to be desired. If you're pushing the limits of the stock heat exchanger on your Shelby GT500, SVT Terminator Cobra, or SVT Lightning, then an AFCO heat exchanger is an excellent choice and perfect way to get even better performance.
