ATS Five Star Torque Converter
The factory torque converter in the 2003-2007 Super Duty utilizes a one clutch design and basic construction, while the Five Star Torque Converter by ATS features a five disk friction surface, mixed-flow stator to maximize torque multiplication, a fully welded impeller and turbine vane section for better airflow, and oversized high load thrust bearings in place of factory plastic washers for increased durability. At the heart of this high-powered torque converter is the innovative ATS Viskus Clutch Drive technology. Paired with the fluid-coupling portion of the component, this highly advanced torque converter utilizes five clutch plates and 100% mechanical engagement to withstand up to 2,000 lbs/ft of torque
without plate slippage during lockup. Even better, this torque converter features full billet steel construction rather than the cheap plastic you'll see on many other converters.
ATS Extra Deep Transmission Pan
Not only is the ATS transmission pan built from durable aluminum and powdercoated black for superior corrosion resistance, but its increased capacity lowers oil temperatures for better performance. The ATS Extra Deep Transmission Pan holds an additional five quarts of transmission oil!
ATS Billet Steel Input Shaft
The input shaft on the 2003-2007 F250 and F350 transmission transmits power from the transmission to the wheels, meaning any heavy towing or climbing requires a lot of durability from this little part. And like a lot of different components in the earlier Powerstroke engines, the stock input shaft just isn't built for that kind of pressure. The Billet Input Shaft by ATS is designed not only to be more durable than your factory component, but also to absorb more torsional load. By machining their input shaft from billet steel, which is more resistant to breaking, your transmission is able to transmit a greater amount of torque to the wheels without breaking the input shaft.
ATS Billet Flex Plate
The factory flex plate in the 6.0L Powerstroke transmission is known to wobble, bend and break under heavy application, potentially causing complete transmission failure. The Billet Flex Plate by ATS is machined from a solid piece of billet steel, eliminating excessive wear and breakage issues. Better yet, this flex plate is SFI certified, attesting to its unmatched quality and durability. ATS developed their billet flex plate with its exclusive twelve bolt design to allow for better durability and a near universal fit.
