Best Budget Super Duty Trailer Brake Controllers

First things first, let's take a look at the best options that you can snag if you are on a bit of a tighter budget. The first to look at would be the CURT Venturer Trailer Brake Control (Time-Activated). This high-quality, compact, easy-to-set-up time-based brake controller from CURT can be mounted at any angle in the cab of your vehicle and has an automatic power level adjustment feature. It can operate one to three axles at a time, meaning 2 to 6 brakes, and has an LED display for monitoring brake pressure. This device is time-activated which is great for light-duty trailers and easily installs in the cab of your truck, giving you a quick plug-and-play monitoring option for those times you need to stay on top of your towing application. The Venturer is a great option if you have a lighter trailer like maybe a small camper, fishing boat, or just a simple flatbed to haul dirt bikes and whatnot. It is rated by the manufacturer to be able to operate one to three axles at a time, meaning 2 to 6 brakes. If you have a larger trailer where you need a controller that can operate 1-4 axles at a time, meaning 2-8 brakes then the CURT Discovery Trailer Brake Control (Time-Activated) (seen below) is what you should go after. This controller has a lot of the same basic features as the Venturer but can handle heavier trailers and has a digital display that allows you to adjust power in 0.1 increments for those crucial times you need to monitor and increase or decrease brake pressure. It is important to note that both controllers mentioned are compatible with anti-lock brakes, cruise control and was designed to work with quick plugs so they can readily plug into your vehicle's original equipment socket. Both products also include a mounting bracket and hardware for easy installation.
