Got these installed today and couldn’t be more impressed. Height is about perfect, no more rear end bounce when hitting bumps. I kept my stock 20” wheels and am running 285/65/20 with no trimming and no running. Ride quality is fantastic.

Absolutely worth the price! Had a shop install the fronts, I installed the rears. I have 33" tires with a leveling kit and factory suspension. I upgraded to this kit and could not be happier. The ride is slightly stiffer, but the truck feels way more stable and smooth. I drive on a few roads for my daily commute that I think the county forgot about it and they're rather rough. The rear end feels completely different, in a good way. No more "shake" and it feels much more planted. Wish I would have upgraded much earlier.

Installed these at the top notch, which is supposed to be a 2" level but it netted me a full 2.75" on my 2019 ccsb 4wd xlt with 3.5eb (473lb factory springs). Kind of bummed that I have to redo all my work and drop them down to 1.5" (to hopefully net 2") as the cv boots are going to rub themselves apart at this height. Hopefully this helps others out. Know your factory spring rate before installing these. It would be nice if bilstein would publish a ride height chart based on factory spring rates. The ride is firmer in a good way but definitely not harsh, even at the top setting. Will follow up with actual height numbers once I drop them to 1.5". 5 stars for the shocks but 2 stars for bilsteins lift heights.

Ride is awesome, much improved over stock. Front end no longer submarines when braking, and the truck rides less like a 20' boat. Suspension soaks up the bumps now as it should have. Body roll is less noticeable and truck overall feels more planted. At the highest setting, I achieved nearly 2" of lift on the front. Paired with a set of ICON UCA's. My only gripe is that these don't come with an option for pre-installed tophat at desired height settings.

Wow! Had my shop put these on. Driving home, I thought I made a huge mistake! It was like riding on bricks. 500 miles in, and after taking my truck up some rutted out fire trails, and this suspension kicks ass! It Broke in nicely. It's super plush, but firm. Body roll is almost gone complete, and handles like a sports car on the pavement. Off pavement flexes great and keeps the tires on the ground. Just what I wanted. Great set up. *Kept my 2" leveling spacer up front, with the clip position set to number 2 for an additional 1/2" lift. Rear is stock and truck is now totally level

Finally decided on this coil over set after about a year of debating. Couldn’t be happier with my decision. Totally changed the look of my truck, perfectly level now. The way it handles now is a night & day difference over stock! Stage3 made it all happen by gettin the shocks delivered within days of ordering even though it said out of stock on the 6112’s. You won’t be disappointed with these shocks.

My truck previously had preload spacers installed in the struts and man it felt terrible. Initially installed the rear shocks and a few weeks later I got around to getting the struts swapped out. Unfortunately thats when I noticed that one of my 5160's was leaking oil pretty badly from the reservoir hose fitting. I was able to tighten the fitting at that point and stop further leaking but it was clear that I lost a lot of fluid over that few weeks, so the performance of the shock was probably degraded quite a bit. I contacted Stage3 and they took care of me! Stage3/Bilstein had a replacement shock at my door in a little over a week. I mainly wanted to leave a review because of the excellent customer service I received... Aside from that, the truck rides sooo much better than before and that's with the 6112's at the highest setting. Couldn't be happier with my purchase!

He eventually caved and had his lackeys do it, and they got it done in about 5 hours including an oil change. All the terrible things the stock suspension did are now remedied.

Great build quality on these. Height adjustments is great to pick the perfect level for your preference. Ride quality is night and day difference. Before the install the rear end felt like every bump in the road bounced the rear of the truck around. After putting these on the truck is much more planted to the road, body roll in cornering is greatly reduced, and overall just a smoother ride down the road. Initially they were stiff as mentioned in other reviews but break in quickly.

Customer Question What is the spring rate?

Asked by: BoogerHook_Actual - 2/7/2026
Customer Answer Bilstein has not publicly given out the spring rate for this kit, but they did mention during a recent training, that it is slightly lighter than stock to give a better ride at the higher lift options.

Customer Question I am looking to replace my rough country m1 monotube struts and shocks, I have a 2015 f150 xlt 4wd that is on a 6in rough country lift. Will this product work for replacements?

Asked by: Aaron - 9/25/2025
Customer Answer This kit will not work as full length replacements for any lift kit as the rears are only rated for 0-1" above stock, and the fronts are leveling struts that would not bridge the gap needed for 6" above stock height. You can set the 6112 fronts to stock height and use the 6" strut spacer that most lift kit companies use that retain use of your stock struts.

Customer Answer On that wheel, you will likely get some amount of rub with the 2" of front leveling that this package provides. However, minor valance and wheel well trimming would likely be all that you need.

Customer Question In your testing how does the on road and off road ride of this Bilstein kit compare to the Icon stage1 kit? Also, at what mileage does Bilstein recommend these be rebuilt? I have a 2.7 eco, with Icons and am looking for a slightly more comfortable ride both on and off road. Thanks!!

Asked by: Joe - 4/22/2022
Customer Answer The Bilstein 6112s 5160s ride a lot smoother than the ICON 2.5s, but the ICON 2.5s can almost certainly handle more aggressive off-roading than the Bilstein 6112s and 5160s. It's kind of an apples to oranges comparison, but if your sole goal is smoother and softer, then the 6112s and 5160s would be your better bet.

Customer Question I have a 2018 Plat SCREW - I remember reading a while ago that the 6112 couldn't be used on the last clip for SCREW ... was this fake news or true? Also, I've read in the F&Q comments that using the last clip (highest setting) could lead to a rougher ride... could you counter this by using a 2" spacer and a putting on the stock height?

Asked by: Vincent - 4/13/2022
Customer Answer There's no reason why the top perch setting can't be used on a SuperCrew truck. If anything, the lighter SuperCab and Regular Cab trucks would have issues due to a bit more ride height gained due to their lighter weights. Since the 6112s provide their height based on spring preload, you will get a bit softer of a ride on the lower ride height settings. That being said, in our experience, the ride height on the top ride height setting was not unpleasant, though a bit stiffer than stock. In theory, setting them at a 0" stock height and using a spacer will give you a lighter ride, but we have not tried the combination ourselves and can't strictly guarantee it.

Customer Question I was comparing specs between the Bilstein website and the Stage 3 site. Bilstein says these providing 0-2.75 inches of front lift, and the stage 3 says 2 inch. I have a 2105 XLT with the 5.0, what height will these raise the front to? I do not want to go over 2 - 2.25 inched of lift.

Asked by: Rob S - 9/16/2021
Customer Answer The Bilstein 6112s for the 2015-2020 F150s only level up to 2". Versions for other applications can go higher. Check out Bilstein's Install Instructions here for the various ride height settings on an F150.

Customer Question Can I run these with 35s and stock Ford 20 wheels with no rubbing ?

Asked by: Tommy J - 8/31/2021
Customer Answer You would not be able to use a 35x12.50" tire without rubbing. You might be able to clear something like a 285/65R20 during normal street driving, but you'd likely see rub when you're turning at full lock in reverse or when articulating. If you want to avoid all chances of rubbing, the biggest tire we generally recommend is a 33x11.50"

Customer Question How hard would this install be to do myself? Or would y’all not recommend I try it myself.

Asked by: Trent Walker - 3/16/2021
Customer Answer It's not impossible to install this kit yourself. That being said, we strongly recommend using either a wall-mount or floor-mount spring compressor, since most portable rental compressors can't handle the F150 or 6112's springs, and you have to compress springs to transfer over the stock upper mounts, isolators, etc. The shocks and coilovers aren't that difficult to install, so if you have a second vehicle, you could run your stock coilovers and the 6112s over to a shop with a suitable spring compressor, have them swap over the stock hardware, and then you can just drop the assemblies into your truck if you want to save some cash on a full install.

Asked by: Matt - 3/9/2021
Customer Answer Only really in regards to total ride height. Since the 2.7L and 3.3L V6 are both decently lighter than the 3.5L EcoBoost or 5.0L V8, you may get slightly more ride height out of the 6112s up front. This could be a good or a bad thing depending on what you're doing.

Customer Question I have a 2.5" spacer kit at the moment on my truck. Will this kit still let me run my 35X12.5X17 tires without rubbing issues?

Asked by: Kyle G - 3/4/2021
Customer Answer That depends entirely on what wheel you're using, specifically its width, offset, and backspacing. However, in general, at the 2" of leveling the 6112s provide, you're likely going to end up with at least some rub. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 623-434-5277 or email us at [email protected] so we can get more specific about what wheels you're going to use.

Customer Question Interested in a coilover package for a 2020 F150 XLT FX4 package with a factory tow rating of 12,500LBS. My question to your company is, will a Fox coilover 2.5 package or a Bilstein 6112 package hurt the overall factory towing capacity

Asked by: David Scott - 1/20/2021
Customer Answer Neither the Fox 2.5s nor the Bilstein 6112s will not effect your factory payload, GVWR, or GCWR ratings. The only real issue you may run into is that because these systems level the truck, you may end up nose-high if you're towing or hauling heavy, and you may want to add some rear lift or load-bearing upgrades to stay level and stable when towing/hauling. A minor issue is that the 6112s and Fox 2.5s are heavier than the stock dampers, but the difference is minute compared to the truck's curb weight.

Or can you tell me the length required, the rod diameter and the OD of the shock body so I can find a generic boot to fit?

Asked by: Charles Casper - 1/5/2021
Customer Answer We don't have boots specifically for these shocks, though most generic boots will work. The shock body is 46mm in diameter and the max extended length is 29.44", if you want to try to hunt down something more specific. ICON's 2.0 Shock boot will likely work fine, though there's other options out there.

Customer Question Are these not supposed to be used on 19 crew cab xlt 4x4 the 2.7? Something about weight?

Asked by: Morris44 - 1/2/2021
Customer Answer The issue with the 6112s is that their ride heights are based on spring preload, and since the 2.7L F150s tend to be a bit lighter than the 5.0Ls and 3.5L EcoBoosts, the 2.7L trucks tend to get a smidge more ride height than what the front 6112s are actually rated for. They'll still technically bolt up, but you may want to try a lower ride height setting to start off.

Customer Answer Our 2018 Budget Build truck still had the factory rear block installed, though it did typically run around with a decent amount of weight on/in the bed.

Customer Question This option comes up when I specify 2018 2.7 ecoboost rwd but the item description say 4wd. What is it do you have bilstein for my truck?

Asked by: Chris - 9/21/2020
Customer Answer Unfortunately, Bilstein does not currently have a version of this kit specifically for RWD trucks. However, this kit will physically bolt up to an RWD F150, you'll just end up with a slightly higher front ride height and we do recommend adding either a 1.5" rear block or a take-off 4WD block to your truck to keep the rear shocks in an optimal travel range.

Customer Question I am not looking for lift just a better ride quality over old stock suspension. Can these be adjusted to near factory height ?

Asked by: Shane - 8/16/2020
Customer Answer The front coilover assemblies can be adjusted down to a 0" factory ride height, and the rear shocks work at a factory ride height without issues. That being said, if you're solely looking for a ride quality improvement, you can probably get away with Bilstein 5100s or another more budget-friendly suspension kit.

Customer Question Stage 3 Team, Is there any reason this wouldn't fit on a 2014? The picture looks like it's the revised lower mount - post 2014. Yall also offer a 2009-20013 Bilstein kit, but looks like 2014 is skipped. There's other suspension kits on the site that go 2014-2020. Are the Bilsteins different?

Asked by: Stephen - 6/1/2020
Customer Answer Unfortunately, Bilstein does not offer a kit specifically for the 2014 F150s. This kit will physically bolt up to a 2014 F150, however, we cannot guarantee what kind of ride height or ride quality you'll end up with. If you're dead-set on the 6112s and the 5160s, you could feasibly get a set of 2009-2013 F150 LCAs and use the Stage 2 6112 Package for the 2009-2013 F150s.

Customer Question Can these front coilovers be used with an leveling spacer that is already installed? It is a 1.5” spacer and I was wondering if I could use that with this assembly to obtain a little more lift.

Asked by: Bigbrian33 - 5/14/2020
Customer Answer You technically could. However, we don't recommend using a spacer with the front coilover assemblies beyond their .5" ride height setting without an aftermarket UCA. We also can't guarantee what kind of ride quality you'd end up with.

Customer Question Do the front coilover assemblies come preassembled or will I need to have them assembled?

Asked by: Jackson - 4/21/2020
Customer Answer They do not. The front 6112s will require you to transfer over your factory upper mount, bearing, and isolator.

Customer Question Hi Stage3motorsports Can you frame mount the 5160 reservoirs on a 2019 F150? I have the husky wheel liners and they look like they would interfere with the reservoir mounted on the shock it self Appreciate your expertise Thanks

Asked by: kvbit - 4/13/2020
Customer Answer You can, though your options are limited due to the length of the hoses. You'll likely have to drill into your frame and use some sort of custom bracket to get them mounted. It's still doable, but you may be better off trimming your wheel well liners.
