Before You Buy: Best 2020-2022 Super Duty Towing Upgrades

If you plan on putting your 2020-2022 F250 or F350 to work, then it should have the absolute best tools possible. When it comes to towing, some of the best things that you can do that helps in the areas of safety and performance is to look at 2020-2022 Super Duty towing upgrades. Some of the capabilities we can look into bettering are squat resistance, stability going down the road, and general towing overall. It's important to note that nothing mentioned here is going to add to how much weight your truck can tow but it will help you tow things closer to your truck's higher end of its towing capacity with fewer issues. That being said, best is a very subjective word so we'll break it up into best budget, best bang-for-your-buck, and best overall.

Before you Buy: How to Make your F150 Sit Perfectly Level!

There are more than a few leveling kits for 2004-2021 F150s out there, and they come in a wide variety of different ride heights, despite them all being labeled as "leveling kits." So what ride height actually gets your 2004-2021 F150 to a perfectly leveled, "dead-level" stance with no rake? The answer is fairly simple, but it gets extremely complicated once you get into the minutiae of different leveling kit types, condition of the rest of the truck's suspension, truck submodel, and other factors. In general, an increase of 2.5" of front ride height will get your F150 to a "dead-level" stance. BUT, there's also a few good reasons why you may not want to be dead-level in the first place, and with some of the issues we've already discussed, you may not even be at a perfect 2.5" of front ride height in a lot of cases.

Before you Buy: Interior Upgrades for the 2021-2022 Ford Bronco!

If you are one of the lucky owners of the 2021-2022 Ford Bronco, you get to spend a lot of time on the inside of the vehicle. These beautiful off-road machines have beautiful interiors, but they could be missing a few important things. The factory floor liners work fine, but sometimes you find yourself getting a little dirty after an afternoon in the woods. Having better protection for the flooring is something that is worth investing into. It is great that you have such a gorgeous vehicle, but what will people think when they see the nasty stains at their feet? Do you really want to be known as the person with the dirty Bronco? Protecting your floors is one thing, but what about the stuff inside your vehicle? We have all been told the horror stories of a friend who leaves their favorite off-road vehicle somewhere and come back to find some of their valuable possessions stolen. Now more than ever, it is important to take some responsibility for the things that you carry during your off-road excursions. Replacing valuable items could be more expensive and sometimes not possible. For all of the Bronco owners with no interior protection, you are definitely in luck. There are tons of products coming out for interior upgrades specifically designed for the 2021-2022 Ford Bronco. There are three main categories that we would suggest that you would focus on for your initial upgrades: Floor Mats and Liners, Cargo Storage, and Interior Storage. It is one thing to have a beautiful exterior that people find attractive, but having a well-protected, well-maintained interior can make quite an impression on the lucky people who get to ride in your Bronco. You will feel the peace of mind and the confidence to fully show off your new off-road powerhouse. Stage 3 is up to date on some of the newest products for interior upgrades. Let's go through a few them in each category.

Before You Buy: 2017-2022 6.7L Super Duty Cooling Upgrades

There is a lot that 2017-2022 F250 & F350 6.7L Super Dutys can do. They can climb mountains, pull heavy loads, and even throw you back in your seat with acceleration with some upgrades. That being said, if your Super Duty doesn't have the proper upgraded cooling to keep up with those activities, then I suggest taking the Jeff Dunham approach and taking your children outside and pointing to the Super Duty in your driveway and say, "kids check out our brand new front yard ornament." Maybe that's a bit harsh because even with the stock cooling you will still be able to get from point A to point B unloaded. However, if you need to tow or haul something heavy over long distances, or you happen to live somewhere like where we are based here in sunny Arizona where it gets to about 125 degrees Farenheit in the middle of Summer. Then it's worth upgrading the cooling in your truck to help it last longer and to help you keep it out of the shop as long as possible. Keeping your truck cool in high temperatures or under duress prevents from overheating which saves money and helps you get more out of your truck's capabilities. If you are interested in looking at upgrading your Super Duty's cooling capabilities then there are three areas, in particular, to look at; Radiators, Oil Coolers, and last but not least Transmission Pans. Upgrading any of these three will make your truck that much more dependable in times when you and your family would need it the most.

Before You Buy: Easy Performance Mods for 6.7L Powerstrokes

Today on social media, it seems all we see are a ton of trucks that look like they have thousands invested in all sorts of upgrades that range from under cab lights that change color to paint jobs that feature some sort of professional graphic. Though they're cool to see and people respect the amount of work that goes into them, it is very pricey. You may have eventual plans for some serious upgrades if you happen to have a 2017-2021 F250 or F350 Powerstroke Diesel or a 2011-2016 F250 or F350, but right now it's just not the right time to drop thousands on mods. The good news is, you can still get some upgrades that can give your truck a new edge today that are not too expensive and are easy to install. To be clear, easy to install meaning they can either be added on using hand tools or no tools at all. Although rated for performance, a lot of these upgrades can help your truck run better overall as well, making it easy to maintain. There are three mods to look at Cold Air Intakes, Performance Chips and Modules, and Tuners. Any one of these three is very easy to install and in some cases will provide an instantaneous upgrade you can feel immediately.

Before you Buy: Best Retractable Tonneau Covers for your 2005-2021 Tacoma

Your 2005-2021 Tacoma is an outstanding vehicle to say the least; however, there's not a whole lot of space inside of your cab for you to properly protect your valuable cargo, so you have to resort to throwing some of your gear into your truck's vulnerable bed. Doing this exposes your equipment to any inclement weather and potential theft as you navigate to your destination. Installing a bed cover, or more specifically a retractable tonneau cover, will significantly lower the risk of ruining or losing your valuables when you run out of space in your truck's backseat, all while providing you the protection you deserve for all of your upcoming adventures. Here at Stage 3 we offer a wide variety of retractable tonneau covers for your Tacoma to provide you with peace of mind whether you're traveling 'cross country or driving right down the road to your worksite.

Before You Buy: Best Leveling Kits for 2017-2021 Super Dutys

Now that you have bought your top-of-the-line 2017-2021 F250 or F350 6.7L Super Duty with all of the bells and whistles, you may be looking to upgrade it further. One option to take a look at is to add a leveling kit to get rid of that front-end rake that is common with stock trucks. The question is what leveling kit is the "best" the answer to that is, it depends. The reason it's not as clear-cut as maybe we would like is that different leveling kits are fit for different types of people in the marketplace. Whether it's a spacer leveling kit, a spring and coilover kit, or a simple rear block upgrade there is a very wide range to choose from. So let's break down a couple of different areas and the best lift kits in those areas.

Before You Buy: The Best F150 Leveling Kit for 2015-2020 Models!

Lets get one thing out of the way right here and right now: there is no singular "best" leveling kit for the 2015-2020 F150s. Any leveling kit decision for the 2015-2020 F150s depends ENTIRELY on what you're doing with your specific truck, what exact ride height you want, your budget, your primary driving style, what size tire you want to clear, your climate, and whatever else. The fact of the matter is that this marketplace is so hyper-competitive that anything inherently "bad" doesn't tend to last very long (except on eBay and Amazon, which are conversations for another day). That being said, there are some specific parts that arguably work "better" than others when it comes to certain budgets and applications that we'll run through, but be extremely wary of someone who has never even been in an F150 saying a $59.99 leveling spacer kit with an Amazon affiliate link is somehow the "best" leveling kit option out there for your truck. Yes, I'm angry. Get over it.

Before You Buy: 2020-2021 F250 & F350 6.7L Budget Lifts

After purchasing your 2020-2021 F250 or F350 6.7L Super Duty, you may not want to spend a ton of money for a lift kit or leveling kit. Even though you do not want to spend a ton, you look at that beautiful Super Duty with those aggressive body lines and iconic blue oval on the front and think maybe it would look good with a bit of a lift. If not a lift, maybe just a level to give it a nice even stance to get rid of that front end rake and allow for some large wheels and tires. If this is you then you have come to the right place. Snagging a quality lift or leveling kit does not always mean having to break the bank. There are plenty of lift kits and leveling kits that are made with high-quality materials that will give your truck the stance that you dream about or see on the roadways. Since we are talking lifts and levels today, let's go from shortest to tallest as far as options go. Shall we? Okay let's dive in.

Before you Buy: How to Prep your 2021 Bronco for Winter!

Unfortunately, for the vast majority of 2021 Bronco owners, their Bronco showed up to their doors a little late to really get out and enjoy some summer trail riding, and soon the temperatures will start falling, the streams will start freezing, and the snow will start falling. Granted, we in the Phoenix area and Desert Southwest don't really have that issue, and we'll be ripping around in our newly-arrived Bronco for the foreseeable future. Now that your brand new 2020-2021 F250 or F350 6.7L Powerstroke is finally sitting in your driveway it is time to look at some upgrades. Sure, when these Super Dutys come off the line at the factory they already put out some impressive numbers in the areas of towing capability and performance. However, the stock height may not be enough to conquer what you would prefer your truck to conquer off-road. So where do you go from here? Naturally, it is important to give your truck a height increase but what is even more important than that is getting a kit that will help your truck perform well at its new height. Thankfully our friends at ICON Vehicle Dynamics have just the system for you. Although there are five different kits that all sort of build off of each other, they all are guaranteed to help give your Super Duty new height and help it perform well at that new height. So what is the difference between Stage 1, Stage 5, and everything between? Let's break them down one by one.

Just Added: 2021 Bronco Rough Country Exterior and Lighting Upgrades!

The face of your 2021 Bronco is arguably the most important aesthetic of the entire vehicle. The classic flat faced design of your modern 4 door or 2 door Bronco pays homage to the original Broncos of the 20th century without going crossing the line of outdated design. One of the simplest, yet most effective, upgrades you can make to toughen up the look of the boxy design is by adding a bull bar. To the casual consumer a bull bar looks to be nothing more than a slab of steel slapped onto vehicles, but to you, the informed enthusiast, the bar represents protection, styling, and as you'll see in the remainder of this blog: lighting. These nudge bars fit 4 Door Broncos and 2 Door Broncos only.

Before You Buy: 2011-2016 Super Duty 6.7L Cooling Upgrades

Part of the reason someone goes after a 2011-2016 F250 or F350 6.7L Powerstroke is because of the towing capabilities. It does not matter if you are using your truck to haul things for work or if you are hauling a fifth wheel to your favorite lake for a family camping weekend. There are a lot of things that can be done to help with towing or hauling capabilities such as airbags, add-a-leaf kits, or even an upgraded hitch. Though one of the most important things to beef up when trying to build the absolute best tow rig is your Super Duty's cooling ability. Towing heavier loads puts a large strain on your engine and transmission (especially when towing uphill) so it's important to take a look at things like upgraded Radiators, Intercoolers, oil coolers, and things to help keep your transmission cool.

Before you Buy: How Wheel Offset Affects Tire Fitment on 2011-2020 F150s!

A lot of F150 owners think that just because they added some front ride height to their truck that they're good to go on pretty much any give tire (within reason) on pretty much any wheel they want to run. This is where we run into issues, because the choice of wheel plays a HUGE factor in fitting tires, and just because you threw a lift kit or a leveling kit on your 2011-2020 F150, doesn't mean you'll instantly be able to use whatever wheel and tire combination you have in mind. The big reason why has to with a given wheel's offset, backspacing, and width and how that interacts with its position inside your F150's wheel well, as well as the shape of the wheel well itself. It sounds confusing, but once you understand how different offsets and backspacing change the way tires fit on your F150 build of choice.
