We hope your Memorial Day Weekend went well. Ours was pretty uneventful, except for one slight change to the homepage. We've just added a 2013 Focus ST category onto the site and we're currently on the hunt for the best and most powerful 2013 Focus ST performance parts that we can get our hands on. Before you start giving us funny looks, just know that the new Focus ST is a pretty awesome car, though maybe not a dedicated Mustang or F150 fan's cup of tea. So it's short about four cylinders, has a few more doors than usual, and has the wrong drive wheels. It's still pretty cool and is a blast to drive. I'm jonesing for one of my own pretty hard. So, if you're looking for 2013 Focus ST parts, we have them!
BBK Performance has always been a long-time favorite of ours. Their selection of Mustang performance parts has always hit that perfect balance of performance, price, and general ease. That's why we were pretty eager to to throw some of their gear on a 2003 Mustang GT that happened to stumble into our shop. So we threw on one of BBK's "BlackOut" cold air intakes and their very awesome 78mm throttle/plenum and even managed to get it all on film to help you out when you decide to install these parts on your own 1996 to 2004 Mustang GT. Enjoy watching Lou do his thing!
Our good friends over at Borla Exhaust just released a new, and pretty excellent video that compares their exhaust systems for the 2011 to 2013 F150s. It is a bit on the long side, but it goes over Borla's cat-back options for the SVT Raptors, 5.0L F150s, and the EcoBoost F150s. This is probably the best video that Borla's released so far. Production quality is top-notch and the exhaust comparison's are flawless. Best of all, we here at Stage 3 carry every single kit mentioned in the video and they're ready to ship out to your door.
Apparently it's "Whipple Friday" here at Stage 3. There wasn't a memo, it's just kind of how it all worked out. Moving on from Miguel's 2008 Mustang GT, we now have Al's 2011 5.0L Mustang with a 624hp Whipple Supercharger kit. Al was kind enough to bring his Pony down to the shop so we could get some lovely photos of his blower installed, as well as nice video of his Stainless Works Cat-Back Exhaust kit. This Mustang sounds amazing with just a hint of supercharger whine in the upper RPMs and a deep, mellow tone from the cat-back system. Al even had some pretty snazzy Mickey Thompson tires installed to help get the power to the ground. One thing we didn't see was the 2011-2014 Steeda Tri-Ax short throw. You can't win them all. Check out the photos below of Al's awesome ride and make sure to read his fantastic reviews on all these Mustang performance parts!
More excellent pictures just came in from another great customer of ours, Miguel. Miguel owns one of the most powerful 2008 Mustang GTs that we've ever come across, and by far one of the most powerful Mustangs that we've ever seen that's running on factory internals. This beastly Mustang convertible is throwing down an absolutely insane 545 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque at the tires. For those of you that struggle with math, that's 626 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque at the crank. on stock internals. Absolutely awesome... in an insane kind of way. Most of that power comes from a 2.3L Whipple Twin-Screw Supercharger kit, though Miguel has thrown everything and the kitchen sink at this Pony to turn it into a terrifying, monstrous Mustang GT.
It's a rare day indeed when we get high-quality exhaust system photos from a customer, especially of headers and mid-pipe. To be fair, they're not the easiest things to successfully photograph and you'll need enough ground clearance, decent lighting, and steady hands to get a good shot. Today is one of those rare days. Here we have photos of Alex's 2011 Mustang GT and it's JBA Long Tube Headers and Off-Road H-Pipe package (the kit comes standard with an X-pipe, but we make things happen). While lacking in pretty ladies, these are some of the better exhaust photos that we've seen in a long time. Enjoy!
One of our mot upstanding local customers, Alejandro, paid us a visit last week and brought his 2011 Mustang GT with him. This car has a long story behind it, but let's just say it came back from the dead and was born again into one of the most awesome Ponies hanging around the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan Area. Alejandro has thrown just about everything and the kitchen sink at this Mustang with everything from power adders, exhaust upgrades, aggressive custom tuning, styling mods, and suspension components making it a total overhaul. Not bad for needing to be pulled out of a ditch a few months ago -- more on that later.
