So you've just bought a stock SVT Raptor and you're ready to get into the world of aftermarket modifications to build it for your particular needs and desired look. Where to begin? With thousands of products available for the Raptor, it can get confusing and become a headache if you're just getting started. Fortunately, we here at Stage 3 have a ton of experience to share from building a lot of our own project trucks over the years and have compiled a new 2010-2014 SVT Raptor Parts & Accessories Buyer's Guide to help you navigate the world of customization for your truck. There are countless parts and accessories out there as well as exterior and performance upgrades that we've tried out, only to find that they weren't as good as hyped or just didn't make the cut. That's where this guide comes in handy. We've hand-selected only the best parts and accessories for the perfect off-road-ready Raptor build in order to provide you with a road map of where to begin.
Regardless of the awesome exterior and performance changes made for the new 2015 Mustangs, one important issue has still not been addressed with the Ponys that roll off the factory line and that is the suspension. Mustangs are known for being fast off the line and hard to beat on straightaways but when it comes to cornering, you'll definitely need to address the issue of wheel hop if you want to compete at any level. Keeping those rear wheels on the ground during high-speed cornering has never been one of the high-points when it comes to Mustangs of any year and the new 2015 models are no different. Thankfully, our friends over at Whiteline Performance are well aware of this issue and have designed a few options to help us keep those rear wheels on solid ground to reduce wheel hop for extreme cornering in order to take advantage of all that extra horsepower and torque .
We're all a buzz around here at Stage 3 Motorsports about the newest product line we're able to deliver for your F150 and Raptor, as we're now proudly offering these new hand-laid fiberglass Front Fenders from Glassworks Unlimited. If you've already lifted your truck and thrown on a custom combination of oversized wheels and tires, or if it's currently in the works, these Front Fenders will take your truck to the next level. Field-tested everywhere from the sand dunes to deeply forested and rocky trails, these Front Fenders were designed by "sport truck" lovers in order to reduce some of the body weight of your truck and stand up to the bumps and bruises that come along with extreme off-road action.
Aggressive 2015 Mustang builds can be made awesome by throwing on a bunch of engine, suspension and exterior parts but without a snarling muscle car sound, it's just not complete. Our friends over at Flowmaster have come to the rescue by designing one of their wildly popular Resonator-Delete kits for both the new 5.0L V8 and the sporty 2.3L EcoBoost Mustangs. While a lot of aftermarket exhaust kits are designed to give your Mustang a much more muscular exhaust note, these Resonator-Delete pipes take things to the next level with a much more gritty and raspy muscle car sound by removing the sound resonator. Flowmaster created a 2.5" Scavenger Resonator-Delete X-Pipe Kit for the 5.0L V8 and a 2.25" Scavenger Resonator-Delete Y-Pipe Kit for the 2.3L EcoBoost Mustang. Both options will give your Pony the kind of brutal volume and ferocious roar that will let everybody know when you're coming or going.
While the new 2015 F150 models offer most everything we here at Stage 3 have ever wanted in a truck, the exhaust sound is a bit on the quiet side. If quiet is what you're going for, then you're probably extremely satisfied with the stock exhaust system. However, if you're doing an aggressive F150 build with a big lift and oversized off-road tires, you need an exhaust that gives your truck a sound to match those awesome looks. Corsa's new Cat-Back Sport-Series Exhaust Kit for both the 5.0L V8 F150 and 2.7L or 3.5L EcoBoost models is on the complete opposite end of the sound spectrum from the stock version that rolled off the factory line. In fact, these Cat-Back systems are 4-6 decibels louder than the stock exhaust.
While installing an air spring system onto your F150 or Super Duty is one of our favorite ways here at Stage 3 Motorsports to level your truck and increase the suspension performance, hauling or towing heavy loads can cause issues that need to be addressed. Thankfully, our friends over at Air Lift read our minds and have now come up with a great new solution you can use to not only keep your leveled stance while towing but fix some of the suspension issues as well. These universal Lock-N-Lift Air Spring Spacers from Air Lift simply anchor in place underneath your existing air spring system and work to reduce noise, vibration and harshness while maintaining your truck's lifted and leveled stance during those times you're hauling or towing heavy loads. Whether you have a 4" or 6" lift kit installed on your F150, F250 or F350, these 2" spacers come in a modular design that allow them to securely stack and achieve the exact amount of height you need in an inexpensive and durable solution.
While we here at Stage 3 are excited about the body changes and design of the new 2015 F150, there's still one issue that continues to need to be addressed - getting in and out of the truck with ease. If you regularly have passengers or little family members that ride with you it doesn't take long until you realize you need to address the running board or side step issue, especially if your F150 has a lift of any sort. That's why we're happy to announce that AMP Research has rolled out their 2015 line-up of automated Powerstep Plug-N-Play Running Boards w/ Light Kit for side access and their awesome BedStep Bumper Step for the rear. Together these two exterior innovations give your F150 a whole new level of convenience, form, function and awesome looks.
After years of real-world testing, taking their suspension kits through extreme trials on various off-road environments, BDS has come to the conclusion that a 4" Suspension Lift Kit provides the best combination of height and stability for the Raptor SVT. We're excited to be able to offer you their new 4" Suspension Lift Kit which not only gives your already tough F150 Raptor a great new look with the ability to throw on a set of aggressive-looking wheels and rugged 37" tires, but also provides increased handling.
One of the major killers of performance for the 6.7L Powerstroke Diesel is heat, especially during those times when you really need to push your truck hard in order to haul those extra heavy loads for work or make it through some questionable terrain on those extreme off-road play days. Well, fear not because our friends over at BD Diesel have come out with a great way to keep your Ford Super Duty's engine running as tough and dependable as possible with their new Xtruded Transmission Oil Cooler. This bolt-on component features their patented Micro Energy Bar technology which basically translates to 22% more cooling than any other similar devices on the market. With two different options for your 6.7L Powerstroke Diesel (single or double-stacked), BD Diesel has you covered when it comes to high-powered cooling during those times you rely on your F250 or F350 the most.
