Customer Spotlight: Sideburn Mike's 2014 F150 XLT

Just because it's a daily driver doesn't mean it can't be your weekend warrior. Such is the case with Mike Neumann's 2014 F150 XLT build. It took just under three years for Mike to bring his stock F150 from zero to hero and we must say we're extremely impressed by the results. Read on for pictures and details on this wicked build.

2014 F150 Build

Based out of Laughlin, Nevada, Mike Neumann - also known by his Instagram moniker Sideburns Mike - bought his F150 XLT in 2014 to transport small boats and jetskis across the west coast. Considering he was spending up to 18 hours a day with his F150, Mike wisely decided to turn his new work truck into a passion project he could be excited to jump into every morning.

After a laundry list of performance and exterior mods, this unique F150 is as much a head-turner as it is a performer. From the BOSS Ultimate coilovers to the Addictive Desert Designs "Venom" Front and Rear Bumpers and ADD Chase Rack, Sideburn Mike's F150 build has the suspension and internals to back up its aggressive, desert runner style.

Equipped with the 5.0-liter V8, the truck had enough grunt from the factory to do some work, but this purpose-built F150 was fated for much, much more. Mike went with the SCT X4 Tuner and loaded it up with tunes from 5-Star to quench his thirst for power. He also threw on a K&N cold air intake for good measure.

Whoever says you shouldn't go off-roading at night hasn't seen this F150. Sideburn Mike's got his rig decked out in so many aftermarket lights that even the darkest of trails can't hide from him. Upgraded Spyder headlights and Anzo taillights are complimented by the Raptor-style grille with amber lights. In addition, he's got dual light bars on the front bumper and a roof-mounted Rigid light bar. Finally, stopping just short of overkill, Mike's got dual Baja Designs cube lights secured to the hood with Baja's No-Cut Hood Mounts. You'll also notice Recon's Illuminated Side Emblems keeping the whole lighting theme streamlined.

As you can tell, Mike's wheel and tire game is on point. For improved traction, he went with 33" Fuel Gripper M/Ts, which are wrapped around 20" Fuel Hostage wheels, a combo sure to draw attention on and off the pavement.
