I ordered the 6000K HP3 56 lumen bulbs. Much as others have already stated. They are much brighter than the factory bulbs, and they are indeed too long to fit in the housing. The short fix for me was to sand the clear cap down with a medium sand paper until it fit inside the housing. No issues. The only complaint I can come up with, is the bulb does not fit quite tight enough in the light socket which allows for some play and the light will flicker as it looses connection. I pushed it into the socket as far as it would go, seems to be doing alright installed back on the bumper. Will have to watch it for a few days.

Super bright...much more impressive than stock. The install was quite the unexpected challenge. The bulb is about 3/8 longer than stock and causes it to not fit. I ended up dropping the spare tire, disconnecting the wiring harness, removing the bulb socket, the pulling the plastic cover out of the bumper. I installed the bulb in the socket then inserted it into the housing while using a pair of pliers to twist the lock into place (very snug!). Then I attached the wiring harness and popped the housing back into place.

I installed these on my 14' Lariat. They are nice and bright and white. I had some LEDs from Amazon that I tried and they were too long to fit in the housing. The Diode Dynamics have a nice low profile and fit perfect. Very pleased with them.

I purchased the SMD 2 model which is right in the middle for lumens output. I regret it because it is too bright and it affects the back-up camera visibility. I would recommend the SMD 1 model instead for anyone looking for these bulbs. It will definitely look brighter and whiter light.

These likely took about 10 minutes to install from behind the rear bumper. The bulbs fit perfect as designed. Looking back, for 8 dollar these are a little overpriced for a pack of two. Amazon sells similar applications 10 for five dollars.

Only lights on the Raptor that aren't LEDs are the license plate lights. Replaced with 24 lumen set. Perfect match. Not too bright, but exactly the right color and brightness. 5 minute replacement job.

Bought the SMD2 in cool white for my license plate lights. Extremely happy with the light output. Much brighter than stock. I wouldn't do the brighter HP3 for plate lights due to seeing white spots in the reverse camera at night. Even these SMD2 will have some white spots when reversing, but it's tolerable. Cool white is a pretty good color match as well. As far as install, about 30 seconds a side! Warranty by diode dynamics is also amazing at 3 years. Great product for sure.

Longest part of the installation was realizing latex or rubber gloves would be better to take the bulb out than bare hands. You need the extra grip to remove the existing bulb. The plastic housing surrounding the bulb has clips on the back underneath the bumper, push those through to the outside and you'll get much better access to the bulb, plus it's a lot easier to clip the bulb back into the housing. The bulb needs to be tightened into the housing by turning clockwise until you hear and feel a little click. Test the bulbs first before you put everything back how it was, as for me the bulb needed an extra tighten. All in all a very good little upgrade for under $20 and really looks a lot cleaner than the candescent stock bulbs. Pretty sure you won't be disappointed.

Ordered these LEDs to replace the yellow halogen license plate bulbs that came from the factory. Install took minutes, fit was perfect, they're not any brighter than stock, but are a nice crisp color that match the other LEDs on the truck. Shipping was fast and the product is worth every penny.

I installed the cool white 24 lumens LEDs on my 2016 Platinum F150 and love the way they look. I was able to get rid of the ugly yellowish lights that came stock. These were super easy to install. I DID NOT have any trouble with them being too long and not fitting, like some others have mentioned. Highly recommended.

Perfect fit, brightness, shade of white and installation instructions...very easy. I highly recommend the 24 lumens version. I also highly recommend 3 Stage. The four Star rating is only because when asked to review the product the default setting was five stars. I like the tactic however I will determine how satisfied I am and do not need the suggestive input. If I was not satisfied I would have been pretty ticked to see that you were looking for a five star rating on a one star product. Let the consumer decide. Minor grievance I know. Ok, buy the lights you will love them. Thank you Stage 3 for a great purchase and product.

LEDs fit perfectly and look great! The clean white light really improves the look of the rear end, no more dingy dim yellowish light. The easiest mod I've done to my truck, it took about 45 seconds per side. No tools required, just lay down beneath the bumper, grasp the bulb receptacle and rotate about a quarter turn, pull out the old bulb and pop in the new one, place the receptacle (make sure to line up the tabs) back in the hole and reverse the quarter turn... Done! Oh yeah, and as always shopping with stage3 was a pleasure.

These lights definitely change the look of the rear end of your truck. what I really like about them is they match the led light that comes standard in the tailgate handle. It really annoyed me that those two didn’t come the same color. Also, as said in the video, if the light doesn’t come on, rotate 180 degrees. A good test is while they are still accessible, unlock your truck to see if it comes on. That way you don’t have to access the bulb again. Another tip, if you have long hands you can reach up between the bumper and twist the light out. The wire has enough length where you can change the bulb with out having to pop the lens out. Overall this was a great purchase and one I should have done sooner.

The only problem i have with these lights is that now that i have installed them, i like them so much that i feel the need to go and replace all of my lights with LED's.. These things are fantastic! They give so much more light and the light is so much cleaner that the stock bulbs. I highly recommend these to anyone that can use them.

My truck came with all led lights with the exception of my fog lights and my license plate lights. Replaced my license plate lights with these bulbs -- took me all of 1 minute to do. Just be careful, these guys are polarity sensitive. If you plug them in and they don't work? No worries, take them back out and rotate 180 degrees and try again. Work great.

I got the one suggested by the seller (the one without the hood so the light would fit in the housing) and needless to say I am beyond satisfied with the product. The light is very bright making a very clear license plate light. This is above what I expected and would definitely recommend. I won't buy from anyone else on this.

Customer Answer If you haven't, check the contacts within the license plate light connector for corrosion. If you see any corrosion, dirt, or debris buildup, try scraping it off with a pick or another suitable tool and then make sure the Diode bulbs' contacts are properly positioned.

Customer Question I don't see an option to choose the color temperature. Are these offered in different temperatures and if not, then what temperature are these by default?

Customer Answer This particular part number does not come with color temperature options. It's rated at 6000K.

Customer Answer They will if your truck has base incandescent license plate bulbs. The 2019 Super Dutys could come with both LED and incandescent license plate lighting, so make sure to verify before you order.

Customer Question I really want to bump up to the 56 lumen version, but I am afraid it will be too overpowering. Does anyone have any experience going with this version?

Customer Answer We used the 56 lumen variants on our own project trucks and didn't have issues with them washing out our license plates or effecting our backup cameras.

Customer Question Will these work om a 2017 f150 xlt also looming at 24 lumens should i pick the warm white?

Customer Answer These bulbs have been confirmed to fit a 2017 F150. Your color option is really going to depend on what look you want for your truck. "Warm White" still has a bit of a yellow hue, while "Cool White" is a pure white 6000k color temperature.

Customer Question I am needing these for a 2014 F-150 STX. I have read some previous comments about being difficult to install due to different bulb sizes. My question is, has anyone else had any issue installing these? Don't want to buy something that wont fit like it's supposed to.

Customer Answer The only issue some folks have run into is that Diode's bulbs come with a removable diffusion cap to help disperse light, and that almost always has to be removed in order to fit them into the F150 bulb housings. The diffuser cap doesn't really matter on the F150s, since the housing's lens diffuses the light effectively, anyway.
