All of Diode Dynamics's beam patterns were made with optical simulation modeling to make the best pattern possible. This specific model uses a driving pattern to supplement your high beams. The 18W x 8H degree spread pattern excels in directing light downrange to cover the trail's width while you are driving quickly. It has a peak beam intensity of 53,500 candela, uses 1,930 raw lumens and shines 535 lux at ten meters. The light's 3000K color adds great contrast in foggy, wet weather and looks wonderful. These lights are a clear choice for off-road trips, but are not SAE-compliant on the street. The yellow beam does not meet SAE J581 standards and is only permitted off-road.

The 3" lights bolt-on above the hood near the A-Pillars. Once the OEM assembly is removed, the SS3 can bolt into place for a factory-style appearance. While it might be natural to assume this smaller light means weaker, that's not the case with this light pod. High-intensity automotive-type LED chips paired with a total internal reflection (TIR) optic ensure much more light output than your typical optics or reflectors. Standard optics lose light internally, increase glare and do not focus light properly. The TIR optic serves as both the optic and main lens for greater efficiency and output. The TIR receives all the LED's light, directs it where needed, and reduces glare, all at an efficient rate. The light will additionally thrive in all weather conditions and function in temperatures ranging from -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit.
