2018 F150 Raptor
Whipple goes through great length to put excellent seals on the ends of the CAE, NICE. Reading the instructions it talks about how important it is to get the rubber seal around where the CAE comes inside the box and connects to the filter. Says it's important to prevent hot air from from under the hood from being sucked into the intake. Makes perfect sense, right!? (But let me say that was a bitch to put on) Instructions als talks about how important it is to get the gasket around the top of the filter box on snug... for the same reason. But then you look at how the new box fits and there are so many holes you can stick your fingers through it makes all the other effort almost seem silly. Finally keep one thing in mind just in case you are not aware... the instructions tell you to take your plugs out and re-gap them or else you may get a misfire. OH and if you don't have a tune to go along with it... you'll get an engine light on because of the extra air being pulled in. You ever try to pull the plugs on a Raptor...? So just know what you're in for. Personally it seems to me one of the products that has a sealed box makes more sense. I mean if you really don't want hot air from the engine being sucked back in, then close the box, don't leave four or five holes you can stick your finger through. But that's just my musings. Performance...? When compounded with a 5Star Tune... OMG it's just not safe!! Ha haa. So quick!

Expected Higher quality design from Whipple ! Upper metal piece that replaces Factory filter cover has multiple holes around it allowing heat and dirt in!

Fit perfectly with no problems at all. LOVE the sound of this paired with my borla exhaust, it really does allow my truck to breath better, MUCH better. Sounds too sick! Thanks

Every part of this intake is quality except for the airbox and gasket to seal against the hood, it just a terrible design. Not only are there holes all around the airbox so even if you do get the gasket on perfectly, it will never be actually sealed.. But the gasket itself and how it fits to seal against the hood is just rubbish. I have to have the gasket hardly even pressed onto the air box to get even 75% contact at best. It has caused many coding issues and loss of power in my truck. I need to figure out a way to McGuyver a better sealing setup cuz this design is pure rubbish.

Customer Question Does anyone have unbiased data that actually supports the manufacturer's claims of improve HP and MPG? Would like to know real world performance gains if any prior to investing and installing a unit. Thanks

Customer Answer The intake will physically fit. However, no tuning is currently available for the 2019 Limiteds, so if you do end up getting a CEL, you may be out of luck.

Customer Question Does this void any manufacturers warranties?

Customer Answer In general, a basic bolt-on part like a cold air intake that doesn't require any custom tuning will not have an effect on your truck's powertrain or bumper-to-bumper warranties. However, all warranty decisions are up to individual dealerships and your best bet would be to speak to your service department about what kind of leeway they give.

Customer Answer We haven't tried this intake ourselves as of yet, but we have a long history with Whipple. We put one of their superchargers on our 2015 F150 5.0L Desert Runner, and their parts and components are generally top-notch.
