Very solid skid plate, I am impressed with the quality of construction. Couple downsides though, since I have FX4 factory skid plates, my engine skid plate had to be cut in order for this to fit properly. Also, I do not think the oil drain access is large enough, when I change my oil it shoots out to almost my tire. I can see having to remove this each time I do an oil change to prevent making a mess.

I have all 3 plates very easy to install, I suggest using the heavier thread serts included in the kit.

This plate is sturdy and well designed, it was a great addition to my F150. I bought the powder coated option and figured that the powder coat would last for many years in Florida. No salted roads, no serious off roading, and away from any coastal corrosion. After a year and a half I took off the plate to change the transmission fluid, and was shocked to see the powder coat failing and rust starting to form on several large sections. These sections were never scratched or damaged just the coating failed. Great product but I’m very disappointed with the powder coating.

Easy to install, I have the full package minus the transfer case plate. A great investment and much stronger than the stock skid plates.

Feels heavy duty. Way better the oem. Bought the engine plate before which made me buy this. Will be buying the differential plate as well.

Customer Question 2015 F150 XLT 4x4 3.5l Ecoboost...The skid plates come in aluminum or steel, don't know about the bolts/nuts/washers: Which metals will react on the frame of my truck? Is the steel,or aluminum, skid plates least likely to cause electrolysis rusting? Thanks from South Carolina.

Customer Answer The hardware is all steel. In general, the aluminum skid plates won't have any electrolysis reactions with your truck's frame. Your frame is coated, and electrolysis generally requires bare metal-on-metal contact.

Customer Question The description states that it does not work with the power boost engines. Are they referring to the ecoboosts?

Customer Answer This skid plate works fine on the 3.5L EcoBoost and 2.7L EcoBoost trucks. It does not fit on the 2021-2022 F150 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid trucks, due to differences in the transmission crossmembers around the battery pack.

Customer Question How difficult is it to access the oil drain plug? I see there is a built-in removable door, but with the plastic F-150 drain plugs, it can shoot pretty far when releasing. I considered getting the Ronin oil drain plug with an attached hose to assist.

Customer Answer It's not too difficult, from what I've been told by customers. Unfortunately, I haven't had to change the oil myself on a truck equipped with this skid. The drain plug tends to land on top of the skid plate, and you can generally reach its landing point from under the truck.

Customer Question Do you have to remove the skid plate to change the oil filter?

Customer Answer The engine oil filters are located on the front of the engine in the 5.0L and 3.5L EcoBoost F150s and the top of the engine for the 2.7L EcoBoost F150s, and the transmission skid plate does not block access to them. It does somewhat block access to the drain plug, but RCI includes a built-in, removable door for drain plug access so you don't have to take the entire skid plate off.
