Aggressive Gearing for Race Trucks and Big Wheels and Tires

When you're chucking some massive of-road tires on your truck or transforming your 4WD 2004 to 2024 F150into a brutal racer, then a set of 4.56 gears will be a great, if slightly aggressive, choice. These extra-short 4.56 ring and pinion gears from Motive Gears gives bone-stock trucks a very aggressive low-end power band that's perfect for purpose-built drag strip trucks, but also are a great way to compensate for extremely large 35" to 37" tires to make your truck have near-OE drivability when you jump up a few sizes. 4.56 gears for your truck's front IFS differential will make your truck into a performance machine and give you excellent off-road performance, even in conjunction with large wheel and tire combinations.

High-Grade, Heavy-Duty CNC Machined Gear Steel

Motive's ring and pinion gears are each manufactured out of high-strength, high-quality materials and are designed for a great fit. The gears are CNC machined from extremely strong 8620 gear steel that is then heat-treated to ensure maximum rigidity and strength. Both the ring and pinion are built to near-OEM specs and will deliver low, factory-levels of noise in almost any application.

For Ford 8.8" IFS Front Ends only: these gears will only fit Ford 8.8" Reverse-cut IFS Front Ends built from 2004 to 2024. We strongly recommend using one of Motive's Master Install Kits when putting these gears on your vehicle.

Matching rear gears required: these gears require matching 4.56 rear end gears to preserve drivetrain operation and reliability.

would I be able to have Yukon 4.56 gears in the rear with these gears in the front or does it have to be the same name brand front and rear?

You potentially could. Just make sure that you use a Motive Install Kit with your Motive gears and a Yukon with the Yukons, and you should be fine. Just don't mix-and-match.

I have an 07 f-150 with 8.8 in the front and back will the 8.8 gears you sell also work for the rear differential?

If you're certain you have an 8.8" rear end, then you can absolutely use Motive's 4.56 8.8" Gears in conjunction with their 8.8" IFS fronts.

I have a 2012 Ecoboost with 35" tires and need to upgrade my gears. I see these 4.56" and it says I need matching rears but I don't see anything higher than the 3.73" I already have, do they make a set for my rear?

Unfortunately, Motive doesn't have a drop-in set of rear gears beyond 3.73 for the 2011-2014 F150s. There is a way to finagle a set of 4.10 or more aggressive gears for an older truck into the newer F150s, but it is a bit technical and takes some work. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 1-877-578-2433 for the details. Frankly speaking, an EcoBoost F150 should be able to handle 35" tires without much of a huff, especially when custom tuned or when its tuning has been adjusted for the larger tires, but if you're set on shorter gears, we'll try to make it happen for you.
