February 2018 Customer Spotlight: Logan's 2013 Raptor!

The Gen-1 Raptor is a no-compromise off-road machine, but that doesn't mean there can't be improvements. Case in point: Logan's 2013 Raptor build, featured here in its full glory, albeit far from complete. This clean and mean Raptor's Shadow Black finish contrasts beautifully with red accents skillfully placed throughout, earning our respect and its spot as our featured build for February 2018. Logan is an avid Ford automotive enthusiast and friend to Stage 3, having previously owned and modified a 2006 F150 5.4L. Considering it was his first build, it's not too surprising that he went all out and ended up with a look he felt was just a tad "too much." Learning from his experience, Logan set out to build an aggressive, capable, and last but not least, tasteful Raptor build. We'd say he succeeded.

Let's start with the wheels. As much as you might like the stock Raptor's SVT wheels, there's no denying that these 22x12" custom wheels add a vicious look to Logan's Raptor build. The custom-painted red trim and perimeter accents streamline the build's color theme across all four corners of the truck for a classy, unified look. The wheels are wrapped in 37" Toyo M/T tires, a setup that improves both form and function over stock.

To achieve a larger-than-life aesthetic, Logan called upon BDS and installed their 4" lift, leaving just the right amount of wheel gap and a slight front rake. The build's stance is just tall enough to stand out from the crowd, yet modest enough to preserve the purpose-built Raptor's superb handling and off-road performance. Magnum ICI Side Steps serve to help his smaller passengers get in the cab without having to climb up anything.

Protecting Logan's baby up front is Addictive Desert Design's Race Series Front Bumper, which is also his personal favorite upgrade. The aggressive, race-inspired design of the ADD bumper makes a radical difference in how the truck looks from the front and sides. Housed in the front bumper assembly is a 20" LED light bar to keep the trails well-lit after dark.

Logan's Raptor build is equally ambitious in terms of performance. In order of dramatically improving power and throttle response, Logan went with Kooks' 1-7/8" Long Tube Headers. The 304 stainless steel tubes funnel exhaust gasses through his Raptor's cylinders much more efficiently than stock, boosting power by +20-35 horsepower on average. As awesome as that is, Logan didn't stop there.

Further increasing power is Edge's CTS2 tuner and monitor combined with aFe Power's Stage 2 Cold Air Intake kit. Still, Logan felt the stock throttle response tuning could use some work. To that end, he went with the Pedal Commander Throttle Response Controller, allowing him to fine-tune the response settings to suit different applications. All together with the Kook's headers, Logan's 2013 Raptor is a force to be reckoned with, both on and off the pavement.
