Large-Diameter Stainless Steel Downpipes

The MBRP F150 EcoBoost catted downpipes are made with MBRP's legendary dedication to quality, fitment, and performance. The downpipes feature 3" diameter, mandrel-bent tubing that allows for less restrictions and back pressure than the factory crimped exhaust tubing. The kit's high-flow catalytic converters allow for improved exhaust outflow while cancelling out high-pitch and low-frequency sounds that are responsible for rasp and whine. MBRP's downpipes hook right up to your truck's factory turbochargers and stock cat-back exhaust system, as well as most aftermarket cat-back kits, without any modifications. MBRP's downpipes are made out 409 stainless steel and come with hardware and instructions.

Frankly, power gains are going to extremely similar between two downpipes of the same type. I would make the argument that Kooks GREEN downpipe would lose out a smidge, just because of its more restrictive converters, but a Kooks High-Flow kit would be more or less the same, and it would be hard to distinguish a difference from the dyno's margin of error. For your application, I would recommend sticking with MBRP. That way, if you have a problem, you don't get two different manufacturers blaming each others' product.

If the down pipe is 3" which cat back exhaust will sound better and give you more power? The 3" or 4". It doesn't make much sense to me to go with a 4" if the down pipe isn't 4"

Neither option is going to effect power output overly much, though opening up to 4" will reduce back pressure somewhat. In general, the 4" cat-back kits will be a little louder than 3" systems and have a slightly deeper tone. In the end, it's going to depend on what kind of sound you're going for with your truck.

Just curious if there is much difference in power or sound between the MBRP 3" or the aFe 3-1/2" down pipes? Will one have more rasp.. Also how hard are the down pipes to install on my 14 f150? Much work required?

Any power or sound difference between the two will be fairly negligible, especially since the aFe kit has to neck down again for your cat-back, and most aftermarket versions are 3". You may see higher peak horsepower with the aFe kit with the right cat-back system, but the MBRPs will likely preserve more low-end torque and won't flatten out your torque curve as much. Downpipes can be somewhat difficult to install, just due to the fact that the bolts holding them to the turbine housings of the turbos are really hard to reach, and you'll likely need to remove your transmission crossmember if you're doing the install without a vehicle lift.

These downpipes are not CARB Approved and are not able to be shipped to California.

Since it has catalytic converters can you use it without tuning?

It's not recommended. There's still a good chance that you can throw a CEL and you won't be getting maximum power gains.

I have a K&N air intake, a bully dog gt, and MBRP 4" cat back exhaust. If I purchase this product how will it affect my truck? Will it throw out any codes?

Your truck will throw an oxygen sensor readiness code, even with catted downpipes. You need a custom tune in order to adequately support this downpipe kit.

my 2013 f150 ecoboost already has a custom tune for it with all the bolt ons i have on it i have ordered from here if i order this catted y pipe from here will i be able to have my tunes change made for free ?

As long as you have 5-Star custom tuning and parts purchased from us here at Stage 3, 5-Star will retune your truck for these downpipes for no charge if you purchase from us. You'll just need to fill out our retune form after you order.
