2018 Ford F 150 XL STX
Had these on my 2004 Toyota Tacoma, removed all squat when towing or loaded, without affecting the unloaded ride, and without the complexity of an air bag system. A must have upgrade for my new F 150.

Purchased these to help prevent excessive sag in the rear end without the hassle of airbags. While air bags might give a little more ride height, these work great and were super easy to install. Had them both installed in 30 min. Would highly recommend for ease of install and what they offer.

I wanted to try the Timbren kit on my truck as I have had a full airbag kit in the past and figured this install would be quicker and easier. I can tell you I wasn't disappointing with the results. I pull a 26ft toy hauler and fully loaded its near 10k lbs, and prior to the Timbren kit my truck had more than 4" of squat and pretty much sat on the bump stops. WIth this kit installed it only squats 2.5" and more importantly when going down the road the truck has more stability. A bonus to this is when Im unloaded I can offroad the truck without feeling the Timbrens hitting to the point that it would effect my King suspension in any way. Would definitely recommend the Timbrens to anyone that wants a simple install with great results.

DO NOT BUY! Short story: Rides way too stiff under load, still sags, and causes the front end to dip because there is only 1” of suspension travel. Makes the whole truck bounce down the highway. My truck rode like a brick wagon. This is no exaggeration. Long story: Out of the box the paint was already flaking off and chipped. But I installed anyway a day before my trip. My truck only has 50k miles, and I was towing a 16’ double axle, enclosed, all aluminum trailer with 3 motorcycles in it. Just going around town seemed fine, but on the highway there were hour long periods of minor bumps that would not normally be felt, that were literally causing the whole truck to bounce down the road like an empty dump truck. Horrible experience for a 14 hour drive. I’ve towed this same trailer set up before without this product, and it sagged a lot, but still rode smooth. This product only take away about half of the sag, and rode like garbage. Do yourself and your wallet a favor and buy some air bags or a roadmaster system. I’m now stuck with a $230 paper weight.

I installed these on my truck and it comes with the rubber coils and a solid 1" spacer. With the spacer installed the ride unloaded is very stiff and harsh as the coils are hard up against the axle. I removed the spacer and the ride was better. I have also installed a set of Bilstein 5100's on the rear only and added a helwig anti sway bar on the rear axle which also helped. When I towed an enclosed 6'x12' trailer with about 5klbs and the rubber coils did help the ride and reduced the squat. I would only use the spacers for heavier loads.

Highly recommended! Actively reduces sag under load, not bouncy as I would have expected, doesn't bang or slam the suspension around either. Some how the front end didn't lift as much when fully loaded too. Reduced sway, and I don't have sway bars on the front or rear. FOX 2.0 front coilovers, which are fairly stiff and rear Bilstein 5100 shocks. I've been moving my home and workshop, filling the truck bed and cab with lumber and tools, etc while also towing a 6x12' enclosed trailer that weighs about 4k lbs. SIMPLE installation. I initially installed with the spacer bump and didn't realize what it was. I removed it as it was only giving me like 1.5" suspension up-travel. I would install it if towing an even heavier load. My only concern is rust on the hardware and brackets over time.

Customer Question I have a 2020 f150 fx4 with a rough country 4 inch lift. I typically haul heavy loads in the bed and want to limit the sag in the rear but want to maintain the level that I currently have. Is this the best option or is there something else to use with the current lift I have?

Customer Question I have a king 2.5 shocks all around will the kit lower my suspension travel and will it affect the trucks ability to flex ?

Customer Answer This kit does limit rear travel by at least some degree. It's not enough to cause serious issues on-road or even in most off-road applications, but there is some loss in flex.

Customer Question I have 2015 F150 Max Tow setup towing a BBQ trailer with a considerable amount of tongue weight and I would like to eliminate the squat. Can you recommend a shock that would work well with this system or do I even need different shocks?

Customer Answer You technically do not need new shocks to use this kit, and aftermarket shocks wouldn't really help fix squat issues. Better rear shocks can help with stability issues, though, though there's a ton of different shock options to choose from. Customer Question Will these work on 6" lift blocks with incorporated "bump stop" arms?

Customer Answer They may physically bolt-up to a truck with large rear blocks with raised bump arms, but we can't guarantee how well they'll work, since the axle-mounted strike plate would not be able to be contacted by the SES springs. Frankly, your better bet would be either SuperSprings SumoSprings or the Firestone Ride-Rite System, which aren't as affected by large lift blocks.

Customer Answer The kit will technically bolt up, but due to the size of the rear block and the way the Timbren strike plate mounts, this kit will not be useful at all with a Rough Country Lift Kit.

Customer Answer They'll function more or less the same. The only real difference is that the Timbrens are rated for a little more weight and come with their own strike plate, which is nice if you're off-road.

Customer Question I have a 2019 F-150 ecoboost 3.5 engine . i am towing a 10,500+ travel trailer. my question is . when i tow the trailer on a road or highway and go over a bump or a dip in the road the back end of the truck and front of the trailer continue to bunch up and down will this help stop or minimize this? and will my truck still be level when not towing? thank you

Customer Answer The Timbren SES system may help. The real issue is that instability when towing that heavy can have a bunch of different causes, so you should probably at least double-check some things before you start throwing money (and parts) at the problem: 1). Make sure your trailer weight distribution isn't biased toward the rear axles. You're pushing your truck's GVWR/GCWR with that trailer, and I know it's probably not 100% possibly to get more weight on the tongue than over the trailer axles, but it's at least something to look into. 2). Look into a weight distribution hitch or adjusting your current WD Hitch's settings. 3). Consider looking into aftermarket rear shocks, as they can help settle your axle back down after bumps and dips in the road.

Customer Answer They'll help reduce the amount of squat, though you will still get some, especially if you're pushing your max payload or GVWR/GCWR.

Customer Question Will these work if a 2 inch shackle kit is installed on the rear?

Customer Answer If you're using lift shackles, then you won't have an issue. If you're using 2" drop shackles, then you could have a problem, especially if you've deleted the stock block or have an RWD truck with no block. The Timbrens may end up resting on the axle at all times, which they're really not designed to do.

Customer Answer They'll really only hurt up-travel, and even then, it will likely only be slightly more than the factory bump stops. If you want to keep maximum travel in your rear suspension, your better bet would likely be an add-a-leaf kit or even entirely new leaf springs.

Customer Answer They'll fit just fine in conjunction with an add-a-leaf kit. However, it's tough to say how much benefit the Timbrens provide you after the add-a-leaf kit, given how much support the AALs will end up providing. Still, there's no reason why you couldn't do it.

Customer Answer They will not. The TeraFlex system comes with bump stop extensions and striker plate that interfere with the Timbren install. Your better bet if you're doing a lot of towing would be to use the Timbren Kit in conjunction with basically any other rear shock on the market.

Customer Answer You can still install the kit, though it will lose some of its effectiveness due to the fact that the Aeon springs are designed for F150s at stock ride heights and will need to travel an extra couple of inches to contact the striker plate on the axle. They'll still work, but you way get some sag or squat depending on what your front suspension setup/ride height happen to be.

Customer Question How well do the timbren 6,000lb SES work compared to standard airlift 5,000lb air bags? I haven't seen much for reviews

Customer Answer Unfortunately, we have not tried the Timbren SES kits on any of our trucks as of yet. We're hoping to rectify that soon. In theory, the SES kit will preserve more of your truck's unloaded ride quality, though they aren't as supportive as a set of Air Springs.
