The four leg mounts included in this package use a claw-style clamp system to hook into your F150's door jamb and holds fast to your roof using a specialized rubber mounting surface so that they hold fast without wrecking your paint. The Heavy Duty 2500 Roof Rack Kit easily installs in only a matter of minutes and features a durable construction that can handle any application you have in mind. Each of the legs is manufactured out of glass-reinforced nylon that gives them incredible strength and doesn't suffer from rust or corrosion. Each of the crossbars are made out of aluminum with a durable boxed design that allows them hold a surprising amount of weight without breaking a sweat. The bars snap right onto the Rhino Rack Legs with absolutely no hassles. Each of the legs features a Santoprene rubber bad that holds it to your F150's roof, which prevents the rack from moving all without damaging your F150's paint. Legs and Crossbars Only: this kit only includes Rhino Rack mounting legs and crossbars only. Cargo trays and baskets, specialty cargo carriers, and other accessories are all available separately.

2023 F150

Terrible experience. This item is drop shipped from Rhino Rack. Rhino Rack sent 2 of 3 parts in the kit. Had to work with Stage3 Customer Service which was very good so kudos to them. However after a month of the 3rd part not showing up i gave up and bought the missing leg kit on ebay. Once assembled the kit looks nice but vibrates horribly >55mph. I am awaiting a wind deflector kit to hopefully stop it from oscillating at speed. The instructions are also all separated in the different kits and you have to piece them together. Its not bad but can be confusing Stage3 refunded me the leg kit, so again, Stage3 has me as a customer still but i would stay away from Rhino Rack.

2017 f150

Great product, installed in less than 20 minutes on my 2017 F150. Works great with roof baskets. What I liked the best is NO DRILLING on my vehicle. I just left them attached to my roof basket, so when I want a roof basket, I just install it with racks attached, remove the same way. Weight with basket atached makes that a 2 person job to avoid scratching but works quite well.

2016 F150

I usually don't make time to write reviews, but Stage3 and Rhino earned this one. When I bought a kayak, I knew I needed a roof rack. I did a good bit of research about the various brands and types, and I decided on racks that were roof mount. I wanted Rhino because I had bike racks for my MKV GTI that were Rhino, and they hit my sweet spot for quality and value. I actually ordered the older style of these, but COVID meant manufacturing/supplies dwindled. Stage3 reached out to let me know I'd have to go with these. They were cool - I said yes. Took a bit to show, but COVID, ya know? Stage3 actually sent out a second set because the first one took so long to show. Both showed up within 2 days of each other. Did I mention they were cool? This was a big deal because we were leaving to move across the country. Bars got mounted (pictured). Wife approved, which was huge. Kayak got thrown on the truck (pictured)), and we left the next day for a 2000 mile drive across the country with our Airstream and kayak (pictured). We're chilling for a bit before we finish the last 1000 miles. Kayak is back on top. I average 12mpg with the 3.5l ecoboost while I tow. Kayak and the bars didn't drop my mpg while towing. It does drop ~1.5mpg on the highway without the kayak and the trailer. Next time I'll remove them, which is easy to do because Rhino makes quality products. These do the job.

2019 F150 STX

I own a couple kayaks so I needed something that would get them up and out of the way when I pull my toy hauler or want to still haul gear in the box of my truck. The Rhino-Rack HD kit was the perfect choice for me and the no-drill install made it quick and easy to get on my truck. I like the fact that at the end of the season I can remove it and not leave a mark or have holes to worry about. Or if I want to add other attachments to it like a roof cargo basket it will work as well.

What is the dynamic load limit for the HD bars (particularly compared to the vortex line).

This particular kit is actually limited by the roof limits of the F150, not the bars, so there's really not a load limit different between the Vortex and HD bars, and the choice between the two is really about what accessories you want to run and what bars they're compatible with. I believe the roofs are rated for 165lbs of dynamic load, but that did vary over the model years. I believe roof ratings are in the vehicle's owner manual.
