Multistage Separator Design Housed in a Billet Aluminum Can with 3oz Capacity

Each JLT 3.0 Oil Separator features high-quality construction in a simple, drop-in package so that you can give your truck efficient PCV oil separation in only a few minutes. The 3.0 Oil Separators are built around a CNC machined billet aluminum catch can with three fluid ounces of fluid capacity, which is triple of JLT's original can designs. The has a completely redesigned, multi-stage internal oil separation system that is much more effective at both capturing and percolating oil blow-by vapors so that your engine runs at its absolute best. Each oil separator kit comes with pre-cut PCV lines topped off with plug-and-play PCV fittings that allow you to drop the can right into place of your stock PCV line. The can has a knurled base that allows you to easily unscrew it for emptying capture oil and moisture. The can comes with your choice of either a black powder coat or clear satin finish, which are available from our drop-down menu above.

2011 f150 ecoboost screw 4x4.

I would like to say that I realize this catch can is considerably less money than most on the market and I still think it is a fair value for the cost. There were a few concerns with mine. 1. It is very small nothing wrong with this, I just wanted to mention it is about the size of a tomato paste can to give people an idea. 2. It seems the supplied hoses are too soft, under vacuum my hoses collapsed on the bends and completely stopped any airflow. 3. the supplied mounting bracket is extremely think and it feels like about about to break it when I unscrew the bottom of the can. I fixed the hoses by lining them with plastic ice maker line from home depot. On a good note in 100 miles it caught about a tablespoon of gunk!

This product defiantly works great but I have the 3.5 ecoboost and there's no way to mount the oil separator to where they say to mount it so it's just hanging freely

99% Satisfied! The build construction is solid and looks great. Mounting is quick and painless. Literally took 30 sec to install. Only downside is the engine cover needs to be modified (trimmed/cut) to fit due to thicker hoses that come with the catch can. Overall great addition that makes a difference! Would recommend.

'12 F150 3.5 Ecoboost

Quick install (like 8-10 minutes). The modification to the engine cover took about as long to get the manifold hose routed correctly. Will eventually have to get real hoses as the can is catching a fair amount of fuel vapors. Nice knowing that the gunk is not coating the valves, tho.

2015 F-150 3.5L

Took longer to install than expected, as I tried to pretty anal about the hose routing. The short hose nearly kinked off due to tight bends required, but I removed it, kinked it and I can still easily blow air thru it. This weekend I'm going to cut the hose and install a 90 degree elbow to fix it. Would be nice if the universal mounting bracket allowed the can to be completely vertical once installed; Maybe I'm too OCD about some of this stuff. We'll see how much crap it catches, but anything is better than running the crud back thru the engine.

I recommend this product to everyone! Had it in my truck for just over 2 weeks and it was almost full. Could not believe the gunk it collected. Installion took a couple minutes. Highly recommend this part if you plan on keeping your vehicle a while.

2018 F150 3.5 Ecoboost

Awesome product, already assembled with hoses. Had to take the engine cover off cause it was chafing one of the hoses for the catch can. When you pop the hood looks like it’s supposed to be there. Have been using it for about 200 miles and already have oil in it! Definitely worth the purchase to value the investment of the truck.

This took 5 minutes to install. Simple product. From reading reviews I expected the container to be smaller than it is. The mounting is a 3/5 but it works fine. Taking the can off to dump it is kinda tough. Strongly recommend. My truck doesn't soot my tip up nothing like before.

JLT makes some great product so I knew i was buying something well made. Install was a breeze had installed in less than 20minutes, it's definitely is doing it's job of catching that excess oil from being recirculated in the intake tract.

2015 F150 w/3.5 ECO

It took about 15 minutes to install on my 2015 F150 EB Passenger side. Unit is well constructed.I first thought that the 3 ounce capacity wasn't enough but on the passenger side it's fine. My only negative comment is that because the hoses are so tight against the can. DO NOT over-tighten the can! First loosen the can and then it is easier to remove the can assembly from the firewall mounting point and unscrew the can to empty. Should have a drain petcock instead so it only gets 3 stars, but it does the job.

Pretty easy to mount, and catches a fair amount of oil. Attached is a picture of what was in the catch can after about 1,500 miles. Not a huge amount, but I'm really glad that it's not going onto the back of my intake valves.

Would get a 5 out of 5 with a larger capacity can. But it does what it's meant to. Keeps oil out of your intake. Notice 2mpg gain in mileage since I started using 6 weeks ago. Easy install

2014 Ford F150 3.5 Ecoboost

The install was easy and within 150 miles i had about 1/2 of the container full of gunk that would have been recirculated back into my engine. I would recommend and also buy the container extension. My canister filled so fast that i bought the JLT extension which doubled the volume from 3oz to 6oz.

Not sure why this is listed as only 15-19 fitment. Instructions were great, install was smooth, and after less than 1500 miles it’s already collecting oil and preventing it from entering my intake, can’t ask for much more.

It was as described I mounted on the battery box and it’s a tight for but it does fit perfect. I was worried about it being small but with my truck in month of May I emptied it twice and it was a 1/4 full both times. Nasty watered down gas smelling oil came out. I hope it’s helping!

2014 F150 FX4

Install was straight forward, only issue was the hole was a little off, and the screw had to be started at an angle instead of easily lining up. Not a huge issue, added about an extra 5 seconds to the install. Connections easily lined up, only did some minor trimming on the motor cover as I noticed it was rubbing the line. Had it installed for a few hundred miles and it already seems to be picking up some junk. The only real downside to this kit is the fact that you have to remove the canister to empty it instead of just turning a valve(like the UPR kits). Other than that, it works as described.

Is this system as effective as the more expensive UPR system or the Rx catch can system?

No. The JLT catch can is more equivalent to the UPR in-line cans. Cans like the UPR Dual-Valve will out-perform it, especially since the dual-valve cans will capture blow-by from both the passenger and driver's side PCV, while the JLT only ties into the passenger-side line.

Is this a plug and play system or is there drilling and modifications needed?

According to JLT's instructions, this kit does not require drilling or cutting. You just need to transfer your stock PCV connectors over to JLT's hoses, then assembly and mount the can.

As long as you're willing to modify/lengthen the hoses and find a new mounting position, then there's really not a reason why you couldn't.

Does this fit '16 2.7 Ecoboost f150? Also, heard this is passenger side only (or dirty side), and drivers side is clean side producing far less oil/contaminants than passenger side. Is that true and does that make this passenger side only can adequate? Thank you!

According to JLT this oil separator will also fit 2.7L EcoBoost F150s up to the 2017 model year. The passenger's side PCV (dirty side) does produce much more blow-by than the driver's side PCV. However, in our experience with the EcoBoost F150s, the driver's side PCV still does generate some amount of blow-by, and your truck may still experience intercooler pooling, though it will be less severe and happen at a much slower rate. If you're not planning on keeping your truck very long, or if you live in a dry climate, then you can probably solely use the passenger's side can, but if you live in a humid area and you're getting both oil and atmospheric moisture in your can/intercooler, we'd strongly recommend some sort of dual-valve system.

I heard for the '17 and up (3.5 eb) that Ford reworked the motor so these dont really do much for them any more. Is this true?

In 2017, the 3.5L EcoBoosts in the F150s went to dual injection (both direct injection and rail injection) instead of just direct injection which has helped eliminate valve coking issues. However, the 2017 F150 3.5L EcoBoosts can still suffer from intercooler pooling/shudder as well as octane degradation caused by PCV oil vapor, both of which are alleviated to a large extent by catch cans.

This particular kit is only meant for the Passenger's side of your truck, and the difference between Passenger and Driver's sides have to do with mounting positions in the truck and hose lengths. If you want to maximize oil capture, then it's a good idea to get both a driver's side and passenger's side can or invest in a dual-valve can that captures from both sides. However, the majority of PCV blow-by does come from the passenger's side, and a single passenger's side can does a lot to alleviate blow-by related issues, especially if you're on a budget.

Will installing this JLT Oil Separator on my 2015 3.5 EcoBoost, F-150 Ford void my warranty?

In general, basic bolt-ons like this oil separator won't have en effect on your truck's factory powertrain or bumper-to-bumper warranty. However, all warranty decisions are up to individual dealerships, and your best bet would be to talk to your service department directly about what kind of leeway they'll allow.
