Customer Question I plan to buy this kit and install Fuel Vandals -12mm offset, with 35x12.50x18s Mickey Thompson Baja MTZs on them, I have a 11 F150 with the 5.0 and 6.5 ft bed. I am wondering if this would this be enough clearance to run this set up without trimming? My fathers 12 raptor on Mid Perch fits his 35x12.50x18s with no rubbing

Asked by: Cody - 3/7/2023
Customer Answer If you're using a 9" or 10" wide wheel with a -18mm offset, you will need to do quite a bit of trimming to fit a true 35x12.50", even with the coilovers at their max ride height setting on a 2011 F150. The 2012 Raptors have an entirely different suspension setup, larger wheel wells with taller fenders, and elongated UCAs, LCAs, tie rods, and axles that push the tire farther from the body to allow the Raptors to clear a 35x12.50" tire fairly easily. Please call us directly at 623-434-5277 or email us at [email protected] so we can get more specific about your choice of wheels and other possible options that my work better.

Customer Question How much lift is set on strut out of the box before adjusting?

Asked by: Taylor - 3/27/2019
Customer Answer The front coilovers are at roughly 2.5" of leveling out of the box.

Customer Question Will I be fine with 35x12.5xR20 on a 20x9 wheel with 4.5in of backspacing? I realize I will need to do some trimming - I'm just curious if I can trim enough. Also - am I looking at future issues with my CV joints?

Asked by: Michael - 9/29/2017
Customer Answer You'd have to do a lot of trimming to clear a 35x12.50" tire on a 20x9" wheel with that little backspace. You would likely still rub on the back side of your front wheel well, even if you trim. If you're looking to run a 35x12.50" tire, your much better bet would be a complete 4" lift kit or adding fiberglass fenders to your truck. While the coilovers in this kit will throw off your truck's CV angles, as long as your at or below 3" of extra height, you should not experience issues with your CVs.

Customer Question Could I still utilize my stock fx4 wheels with a 35" tire with this system?

Asked by: williamace - 1/30/2016
Customer Answer Not without some amount of rubbing or trimming, and you'd be extremely limited in how wide of a tire you can use due to the backspace requirements of the UCAs, unless you use wheel spacers. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 1-877-578-2433 so we can get more specific with what tire you're looking at.

Customer Question This says that the rear shocks will take a 2" lift. But I thought you had 3" block in your project truck?

Asked by: Truckerhucker - 1/28/2016
Customer Answer The 3" block we used required the removal of our truck's factory 1.5" rear block, so we only ended up with a net gain of 1.5" of rear lift, which is within ICON's rear shock specs.

Customer Question Will factory Raptor wheels fit over these UCA?

Asked by: Matt - 1/12/2016
Customer Answer You can use Raptor wheels, however, you WILL NOT be able to use stock Raptor tires or equivalent 35x12.50" tires with Raptor wheels on a standard F150 and this kit, due to the narrower track of the standard F150s and the high positive offsets of those wheels.

Customer Question Interested in getting a set of Fuel Kranks 18" with 4.5" backspacing, wrapped with 295/70/18 Nitto Trail Grapplers. Will this wheel/tire combo work with this kit? I want a leveled/small lift stance. So this kit with a 2" block in the back. Any thoughts or concerns?

Asked by: JonC - 9/1/2015
Customer Answer That wheel and tire combination should clear the UCAs just fine. Your only potential issue is tire rub on your front valance and possibly your fender flare (if you have an FX4), given that those tires are 34.3" tall. You may need to trim slightly even with the coilovers set at their full ride height. If you do end up cranking the coilovers all the way up, then a 2" block will result in some rear rake. You may want to consider doing a 2.5" or 3" block instead, but that really depends on what look you're going for. You may want to give us a call directly at 1-877-578-2433.

Customer Question I'm looking to put this kit on my 2013 FX4 along with a taller rear block. I'm also going with a 17" method NV wheel which comes with a 4.75 backspace. Id like to put BFG KO2 LT315/70R17. Do you think this kit would be able to accommodate this wheel/tire combo?

Asked by: Brian Lemay - 8/29/2015
Customer Answer That wheel and tire combination should be able to clear the upper control arm included in this kit, however, you may end up needing to trim your truck's front valance and fender flare for proper fitment, even if you do adjust the coilovers up to their full 3" ride ride height

Customer Question On the stage 3 3 inch lift how much strain is put on the remaining OEM parts. Also is the ride much stiffer from stock?

Asked by: Matt F 150 - 10/9/2013
Customer Answer On the front suspension, there isn't much left to actually be strained, thanks to the ICON uniball upper control arms included in this kit. On the rear, the stock leaf springs are your only real weakness, and they may wrap up under heavy articulation or low-traction situations. Still, they shouldn't cause you too many problems, unless you're really yanking your truck around out in the desert (or wherever else).
