Install was a pain. Icon instructions failed to mention the part that you need to unbolt the front driveshafts from the spindles. On top of that, the bushings for the UCAs squeek due to poor design. The coilovers and shocks ride well but the rubber squeeking is very unnoying and unattractive.

Rides better off road than on road. I drive a lot of limestone roads with potholes and muddy roads, doesn't have the wheel slap anymore when I nail a pothole at 35mph.

I had this kit installed a few weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. I was a little worried that it was going to be kinda harsh from the replacement coilovers but it rides very well. The truck feels very planted now and doesn't sway to the side when going around corners. This is my first time using Icon's products and so far I'm very satisfied.

Everything arrived quickly and in good order. Was missing bolts for the lower front coil over mount but an email to Icon had that sorted in short order. They overnighted replacement hardware via FedEx. I think when the fronts were being packaged at Icon someone just tossed in the incorrect parts bag. Stage3 hooked me up from a shipping perspective, highly recommend shopping with them, I know I will again. Truck rides great, slightly stiffer on the roads but that doesn't bother me as we've got fairly rough roads up here and the stock suspension felt a little floaty at times. I added a 3" rear block as I wanted to maintain some of the factory rake when i tow stuff. Install was fairly quick and easy, tho the stock fronts were a pain to remove as the studs didn't want to pound out. A large pry bar made fairly short work of the issue tho. Post install alignment numbers were all within factory spec except for toe in, and that was easily corrected. Stock wheels with 275/70R18s fit no worries, though I think I want something with a different offset down the road.

This does not trash the trucks ride. The body roll is completely gone and and it gives the truck a very sporty ride. These will give you some negative feedback on nooks and crannies on certain roads but paired with 7 or 8 inch sidewall tires will have you zooming over railroad tracks without batting an eye. This is my daily driver and ability to be a weeking warrior on sune dunes and trails with ability to be rebuilt is appealing. Lets face it folks, shocks loose there pop after 30 to 40k anyways. I have a 4x4 tow package and the coilovers were damn near perfect level out of the box. Did let everything settle after install and turned the collar 2 full turns for about 1/4 more and got the alignment...btw the toe and steer ahead were way off after the level. Caster and camber stayed within spec.

I was surprised it didn’t come with the UCA icon cover cap for the joint. Also didn’t come with a spanner wrench to adjust the coil over ride height so I had to order both separately even though I paid over $3,000 for the kit. I’m running 35s so I needed the spanner wrench to adjust the ride height as it rubbed at the suggested height which it was shipped, I was just surprised that that nor the UCA icon cover cap were not included. Over all it rides better than my stock suspension but not by much, don’t think it was really worth the price. Given the chance I would most likely go with something else.

Customer Question I have a 2016 F-150 XLT with this kit already installed. Currently running a 285/65R18 but want a little more tire height. Is it possible to run a 285/75R18 on KMC XD Monster 2 wheels with a 6x135 bolt pattern and 18x9 size 18mm offset?

Customer Answer You should not have much of an issue running a 285 wide tire. You may want to take a look at the physical tires width measurement before purchasing to make sure it's not more than 11.5" wide due to the positive offset of that wheel, but most 285 tires do not measure more than 11.5".

Customer Answer The Icon control arms will work with a 295 wide tire on tape measure, but you may still want to double check the tire width the manufacturer lists for your tire. Some tires have wider treads. In General a 295 wide tire is 11.6" so you should be ok, but once you start getting to the 12-12.5" wide, the tire side wall could possibly start rubbing on the uca and you may need to space it out or swap to a different wheel.

Customer Question Just installed this kit on my 2016 F150 XLT. Front now sits 1/2 inch higher than rear. Will this settle? Will I need to adjust to level with rear?

Customer Answer The front coilovers should settle by a bit. Your best bet would be to put 1000 or so miles on them (with at least some of that off-road) before you lower them to get back to level.

Customer Answer The UCAs will clear that wheel and tire combination without issues. As far as rub is concerned, you may see some on the valance with that combination, but you would likely only need minor trimming to solve it.

Customer Question I see everyone asking about stock 20s and using either a 295/55r20 would fit but a 295/65/r20 would need trimming. However KO2 makes a 295/60r20 would that still fit? That ends up being a 33.9 with 11.6 wide

Customer Answer You would likely be fine running a 295/60R20 KO2 in most conditions with this kit at 2.5" or above. You may get a smidge of rub if you're articulating and turning at the same time, but that would be easily rectified with minor trimming.

Customer Answer The wheels themselves aren't an issue, but the tires will be. The Raptor wheels have a lot of backspace, and the UCAs will not clear a 12.50"/315mm wide tire on the stock wheels. When using the Raptor wheels, you'll be limited to a maximum of a 295 wide/11.6" wide tire if you want to clear the UCAs.

Customer Answer That's going to depend entirely on what size tire you're using. An 18x9" wheel with 14mm offset has a 5.50" backspace, which means you should be able to clear up to a 305 wide/12" wide tire without issues. However, you will not be able to clear a 12.50" wide tire.

Customer Question I'm wanting to run either the 17x9 fuel enduros or the 17x 8.5 icon compressions with this kit. will I be able to run a 305/70/17 toyo R/T? or should i stick with a 33/12.5/17? I have a ranch hand front bumper so rubbing in the front shouldnt be an issue

Customer Answer With a bumper, you should be fine with either option. Though I'd probably even argue that the 305/70R17s would be a better bet if you're going with the Enduros in their -12mm guise, since a 12.50" may have trouble clearing the back side of the front wheel well.

Customer Question Do these rear shocks allow use of a rear AAL to still have rake when unloaded? Is there a front differential drop for 2018 F150?

Customer Answer These shocks can handle an add-a-leaf kit. Differential drops are only available as part of a complete 4"+ lift kit. No one that I know of makes a system for leveled trucks.

Customer Answer Unfortunately, that is ICON's truck and they couldn't provide me with exact part numbers/specs. They did say the wheels were custom-painted 17" Methods wrapped in a 35x12.50" tire. According to ICON, they did have to do a lot of trimming in order to get those tires to fit.

Customer Answer The absolute maximum width you could use is a 305 wide (12" wide tire), but depending on how aggressive of a tire you're planning to run and the size of its tread blocks, you may want to stick with a 295 wide. You could likely squeeze on a 305/65R18 (depending on the tread) and 295/65R18 without rubbing, or a 295/70R18 if you don't mind dealing with a bit of rub while turning and articulating at the same time.

Customer Question I'd like to get this kit. I also plan to add a front bumper w/winch. Total weight of bumper will be 450-500lbs. Will the springs support that additional weight? If not do you offer a stiffer spring? I'd like to avoid front sagging after lifting 2.5" with this kit. Thanks

Customer Question I'm currently finishing up the paperwork to purchase a light grey 2017 F150 Lariat 4x4 supercrew. On this kit in the description you have pictures of a dark grey truck with this lift on it. I was wondering if I could get the specs of this truck (wheels & tires with sizes, suspension with the adjustments used)? Customer Answer The grey truck was one of ICON's test trucks, and I don't have exact specs. One of ICON's reps believed it had 17x8.5" Method wheels with 35x12.50R17 tires. However, they did have to do a lot of trimming and remove the truck's crash bars for fitment of that tire. They also weren't sue of the offsets of the wheels.

Customer Question Does this system effect the towing/payload capability of the truck?

Customer Answer In regards to actual towing/payload capacities and GVWR, this kit does not have any negative effects. The only issue with towing and hauling heavy is that front coilovers do level your truck out, so the added weight can cause your truck to sit nose-high when loaded. That can be mitigated with a bigger rear block, add-a-leaf kit, or air springs.

Customer Question I'm picking up a '15 f150 4x4 6.5' bed. The rake is awful. I have to fix it. I would like to retain the stock wheels and get bigger tires. What size would you suggest for the factory 20" wheels if using this kit? Also, I don't see any diff drops in the kits you sell. My previous trucks GM/Yota all required diff drops to retain proper angles. Are they optional? I do a lot of miles so Id like to prevent premature wear of parts as much as possible.

Customer Answer The maximum tire we suggest when using the factory wheels with this kit is a 33x11.50" tire or close metric equivalent. The F150's don't require differential drops, lowered crossmembers, or other true lift components until you get up into the 4" lift range. For basic leveling applications, none of that hardware is required.

Customer Answer You would be able to clear a 295 wide tire on the factory wheels without running into issues with the UCAs. However, a 295/65R20 is a 35.1" tall tire, and you're not going to be able to go that tall without trimming and/or cutting your crash bars, depending on what width you settle on.

Customer Question What is the preset factory height of these coilovers out of the box? Also what is the setting used on your test truck? I am looking for this stance on my truck except using 285/65R18 toyo at2 on the same sport pkg rim you are using, however I will be adding a ranch hand front bumper weighing 135lbs. Customer Answer The coilovers are set at about 2.5" out of the box. You can possibly take them up by another smidge with a spanner wrench, but not by much.

Customer Answer That wheel and tire combination would clear the UCAs without a problem, but you would likely get some rubbing on your truck's inner fender and valance, due to the apex of the tire being pushed out by a good margin. Unfortunately, you couldn't really use a higher offset either, due to your crash bars. With your current setup, you'd likely have to trim at least your truck's valance and inner fender to get those tires on. ICON only guarantees fitment of 33x11.50" tires with their kit.

Customer Answer That somewhat depends on the offset and backspacing of your wheels, but in general, you won't be able to fit 35" tires on a 2015-2016 F150 without a 4" lift kit if you want to avoid trimming. You'd need to remove your crash bars and do some valance/fender/air dam trimming to fit a 35" tire with this kit.

Customer Question I have a 2016 F-150 Lariet FX4 on the way. I want to add height to the front, and this kit looks like a great option. At its full 2.5" height increase, would I need to add a taller rear block for a truly level ride? Also, does this kit come with the dust covers on the UCAs?

Customer Answer You would not need a larger rear block to level out your truck. The coilovers' 2.5" ride height increase will level your truck out on its own. As for UCA caps, we include them in the package

Customer Answer To clear the tire and UCAs, you'd likely need about 5" of backspace. However, this system only adds 2.5" of front ride height, and a 35x12.50" tire won't fit your truck unless you do a lot of trimming, remove your crash bars, and possibly other modifications. The maximum tire that ICON recommends is a 33x11.50".

Customer Question I'll be getting a 2016 F150 Lariat 4x4 and wanted to keep the stock painted 18" aluminum wheels found on the sport appearance package. Would I be able to use 295/70R18 Cooper STT Pro tires without rubbing if I kept the ICONs at 2.0 or 2.25? There was a guy with the same truck running 305/70R18 STT Pros with a 2.5 AS level and said he only had a bit of rubbing. Or should I play it safe and use 275/70R18? Thanks.

Customer Answer You probably still get a bit of rubbing, even if you cranked the coilovers up to their full 2.5" ride height, however, a 295 wide tire will still clear the ICON UCAs on the factory 18" wheels. The biggest tire we recommend is a 295/65R18 which will clear without rubbing, if the coilovers are at their full ride height, which is what we used on our 2015 F150 3.5L EcoBoost Project Truck for a little while.

Customer Question Hello. I have a 2016 F150 Lariat Screw 4x4. I want to level my truck and go slightly larger tires. Want to make sure this kit will be a much smoother ride than a AutoSpring level kit. Dont want that harsh of a ride.. Also. Want to make sure the wheel and tire combo will fit and not rub? wheels - Method standard 20x9 18/5.75" Tires - 275/60R20 Terra Grappler. Let me know if you need more info. Am I correct that the UCA's in this kit will correct the geometry. Had a block level kit in an older truck and hated how the "A arm" geometry was.. Thanks! Mike

Customer Answer The ICON system tends to provide a firmer overall ride than your stock coilovers and a leveling kit, though it will be a more controlled and tighter on-road ride, rather than the bouncy porpoising ride you can get with a spacer kit, and it won't be too harsh. Your wheel and tire combination will fit and clear the UCAs. However, the UCAs do nothing to actually "correct" your suspension geometry. ICON's UCAs simply allow for more travel than the factory UCAs, especially when geometry is thrown off by a leveling system or taller coilovers. If on-road ride quality is your principle concern, then you may want to consider F150Lifts BOSS Coilovers instead, as their ride stays extremely soft on-road. ICON's system is amazing, but it does have a firmer on-road ride than stock. Customer Question This system with stock 20" platinum wheels, can you run bfg ko2 with 285/65 or 305/55 without rubbing ?

Customer Answer The 285/65R20s would clear the UCA, however, you may still get some amount of rubbing on the lower valance or fender flares when you turn, which would require trimming. The 305/55R20s are too wide, and you would not be able to clear the system's upper control arm on those wheels. The largest tire you could run is a 33x11.5" or close metric equivalent to clear both the tires and fender flares. A 295/55R20 wouldn't be a bad choice.

Customer Question I just ordered my 2016 F150, once it arrives, I was going to order your Stage 2 suspension system. My goal mainly to level out the front,but I prefer not to use a spacer that most use. I cannot go much higher than stock due to my garage height. My question, is whether I can used the following wheels with your stage 2 suspension system? KMC XD Wheels XD126 Enduro Pro, 20x9 with 6 on 135 Bolt Pattern - Black Wheel Size: 20x9 Bolt Pattern: 6 on 135 Backspace: 5 Offset: 0 MaxLoad: 2500 Center Bore: 87.1 Regards, Dominic

Customer Answer You'd be able to use those wheels with up to 12.50" wide tires, due to their pretty low backspace.

Customer Question With this set up can you run a 20inch aftermarket wheel with a 20mm offset and 5.75 inch of backspace with BFG 285/65r20 KO2s? If I have calculated it right they should work as they should have slightly less back space than stock and those tires are approximately 11.5 in wide. Just double checking. Thanks.

Customer Answer Those tires should still work as they're 11.22" wide, and we managed to fit 295 wide (11.6") tires on our 2015 F105 3.5L Project Truck with the factory wheels. However, if you are shopping around for aftermarket wheels, we'd recommend a maximum of a 12mm offset on a 9" wide wheel in order to keep the recommended clearances for the UCAs, especially if you want to go with wider tires in the future.

Customer Question I know ICON says these are adjustable to 2.5" of increased front ride height, but is it possible to crank them up to 2 3/4" - 3" with the spanner wrench like the BOSS coil overs?

Customer Answer They are not. The absolute maximum ride height you can go is around 2.63", though 2.5" is the maximum recommended.

Customer Question I have a 2015 F150 King Ranch FX4, will the factory wheels work with this kit? Back spacing specifically?

Customer Answer You can use your stock wheels with this package, HOWEVER, if you do, you can't use tires wider than 11.5" or so in order to properly clear the UCAs, due to your stock wheel's hefty amount of backspace. If you want to go with a tire with a wider width, then you'll need either new wheels or a set of wheel spacers.
