I can say these are some of best shocks available for f150! The ride quality is stellar. It’s A little more firm than stock but is still very comfortable. Off-road they handle like a dream. Bumps and washboard sections that warranted slow speed on stock suspension you can fly through with these shocks and arms. Fit is a 9/10 and the hardware was almost complete. I didn’t like how the shock mounting bolts only came with lock washers and not full-size washers (I added during the installation. Installation was a breeze and took me around 4 hours in my driveway with a full set of tools. These are top notch for anyone who does aggressive off-road. I can’t wait to try them in Utah on my hunting trip this year!!! Thanks icon and stage 3 Motorsports.

Customer Question I have the stage3 icon kit and street ride is still a little harsh. will the kit with the CDCV Adjusters provide a true "stock like" ride if dialed way down for daily driving? Its a lot to invest to restore softer ride with 2" lift, but im considering the coilovers and rear shocks; If so, can the UCA be deleated ?

Asked by: fk - 7/26/2025
Customer Answer You can soften the dampening through the reservoir on this kit, but you will not get a stock ride out of a race series shock even after softening them. You can just order the rear shock and front coilovers with the CDCV adjusters separately. Give our sales team a call at 623.434.5277 option 1 and we can discuss this in more detail and get you a recommended kit for what you are wanting ride quality wise.

Customer Question I currently have this lift and Icon Compression wheels which I believe are a +6mm offset. I just bought a low profile bumper and I’m going to chop the crash bars. I’ve read in your other responses that I may have issues running a 295/75/17 or 315/70/17 due to the tire contacting the remote reservoir. Is there any solution like relocating etc to make a bigger tire like mentioned work?

Asked by: Nick - 2/8/2023
Customer Answer That caveat is only for factory wheels or wheels with fairly high offsets and backspacing. I believe ICON's wheels will clear the reservoir mounting with up to a 315 wide tire. At worst, you'd have to find a slightly different location to mount the reservoirs.

Customer Question My tires are 285-75r18, wheel offset is -12mm w/ 4.5” bs. On a 2019 F150 3.0l PWR STR Diesel. Will this wheel tire combo work with the Icon stage 5? I also plan to install a 1” strut/spring spacer. My ideal ride height lift would be 2.5-2.875. Will the Icon Stage 5 work with a 1” spacer in combination with the icon struts/springs?

Asked by: L - 11/1/2022
Customer Answer You'll probably end up having to do some trimming with that wheel and tire combination with a wheel that has that low of a backspace. We don't recommend adding more than 3" of front leveling to the 2015-2020 F150s. If you want to add a 1" spacer, you'd need to lower the ride height of the coilovers.

Customer Question What size are the tires on the grey truck in the picture for 2015-2020 F150 4WD ICON Stage 5 2-2.63" Suspension System K93085T?

Asked by: jkite - 10/5/2021
Customer Answer Unfortunately, that's ICON's truck, and I don't have specific specs. From looking at it, I believe that truck is using an ICON 17x8.5" wheel with a 315/70R17. They likely had to remove the crash bars and do some trimming to get them to fit.

Customer Question If I run this suspension setup with Icon Compression rims 18x9" 6mm offset, can I fit 285/75R18 tires without trimming?

Asked by: JamesK - 3/23/2021
Customer Answer You would probably be fine during normal street driving, but as soon as you start articulating and turning at the same time, you will likely get some rub and need some valance trimming.

Customer Question Follow-up to the previous question with a wheel choice change. 2017 Ford F-150 XLT 4WD here. Will this kit work with Fuel Method 17x8.5" MR312 Wheel (Matte Black) MR31278516500 (6x135mm/0mm Offset) with 4.75" of backspacing and Nitto Ridge Grappler LT305/70R17 (33.9x12.2)? If not, will it work with Nitto Ridge Grappler 33x12.50R17LT?

Asked by: Matthew Greco - 7/19/2020
Customer Answer You'll clear the UCAs with both combinations. You'll likely see a bit of valance rub with either tire, but you should be able to cure that with very minor trimming.

Customer Question 2017 Ford F-150 XLT 4WD here. Will this kit work with Fuel Rebel 17x9" D680 Wheel (6x135mm/01mm Offset) and Nitto Ridge Grappler LT305/70R17 (33.9x12.2)? If not, will it work with Nitto Ridge Grappler 33x12.50R17LT?

Asked by: Matthew Greco - 7/18/2020
Customer Answer You'll clear the UCAs with that wheel and tire combination. You might see a bit of rub on your truck's stock valance.

Customer Question Will the Gen 2 Raptor OEM Beadlock option wheels fit with this kit? Ford part # is KL3V1007BE if that helps.

Asked by: dylan123 - 5/8/2020
Customer Answer The wheel will fit just fine. However, the stock beadlock wheels have a pretty high offset, and you will not be able to clear ICON's UCAs with a 315 wide/12.50" wide tire. You'd be limited to a maximum of a 295/11.6" wide tire.

Customer Question do the rear shocks provide any lift? im looking to only level the truck, but gain travel in the front and suspension in the rear.

Asked by: Vince P - 1/11/2020
Customer Answer The shocks do not provide any lift on their own. While they can handle roughly 2" of lift over stock, the only way to add lift to a solid-axle/leaf-sprung truck is with a larger rear block, add-a-leaf kit, complete leaf packs, or different shackles. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 623-434-5277 so we can get more specific about what you're looking for and give you possible suggestions.

Customer Question Can I run a 285/75/17 tire with this suspension setup? I plan to get icon wheels 17x8.5 which have 5mm backspacing. My only concern is rubbing and weight. (which may not be noticeable with the 10 speed 3.5L EB)

Asked by: Nick - 11/25/2019
Customer Answer You should be able to clear that wheel and tire combination just fine at this kit's 2.5" ride height setting. As long as you get your truck adjusted for the change in tire size, you will likely not notice a huge difference in overall performance.

Customer Question I want to run an 18x9 rim with a +18 offset on a 285/70r18 with the ICON stage 5 system. Do you think I will have interference issues? Is it the reservoir that causes the issue? If so, are there other ways of mounting the reservoir?

Asked by: Joe - 1/18/2019
Customer Answer You should not have clearance issues with either the UCA or the reservoirs with that particular wheel and tire combination. Both the reservoir mounting point and the UCAs are issues and require a certain amount of backspacing to clear 12.50" wide tires. So even if you solve the reservoir mounting issue, you'll still have to contend with the UCAs.

Customer Question Are these extended length coil overs, or just stock length?

Asked by: Paul R - 9/4/2018
Customer Answer The coilovers included in this package are stock-replacements designed to replace the stock coilover assemblies, though they do add ride height through preload adjustment. The overall length of the coilovers is slightly greater than stock, and they are capable of slightly more travel.

Customer Question Hello, I was wondering if anyone could explain to me the difference in stage 4 and 5 Icon suspension systems? I have a 2018 F150 4wd.

Asked by: Zach Young - 4/15/2018
Customer Answer The ICON Stage 4 System comes with 2.5 Remote Reservoir Front Coilovers, 2.5 Piggyback Rear Shocks, and ICON Upper Control Arms. The Stage 5 Kit comes with 2.5 Remote Reservoir Coilovers with CDCV Adjusters, 2.5 Piggyback Rear Shocks with CDCV Adjusters, and ICON Upper Control Arms. The CDVC adjusters allow for compression adjustments on the Stage 5 System. The Stage 4 system has no adjustable settings.

Customer Question 2016 F150 FX4. What is the wheel and tire package pictured here? I am looking for this exact look with good off road performance. Is this a bolt on system or is modification required?

Asked by: Jason - 7/23/2017
Customer Answer That's ICON's truck, and according to them it had 35x12.50R17s on custom painted Method wheels, and that combination required a lot of trimming and cutting of the crash bars for fitment.

Customer Question What wheel and tire sizes do you recommend for a 2.5" lift on 2015 F-150 XLT? Looking to do moderate overlanding and dessert running while maintaining a decent street ride for daily use. Thanks!

Asked by: JakeB - 7/7/2017
Customer Answer That's really going to depend on a lot of different factors, including what wheels you're going to use (specifically, their widths, offset, and backspacing) and if you're going to run an aftermarket bumper with more clearance. In general, we usually recommend a 33x11.50" tire in order to guarantee no rubbing and clearance of the UCAs and reservoirs. That being said, you can go bigger depending on the wheels or bumper you're going to use, as well as what kind of trimming you're willing to do.

Customer Question 2016 F150 platinum fx4 5.5 bed. 20" platinum rims. What size tire will this fit with stock platinum rims?

Asked by: Will - 4/24/2017
Customer Answer The maximum size tire we recommend on the factory wheels is a 33x11.50" tire or close metric equivalent, both for UCA clearance and to avoid rubbing.

Customer Question Ok......Fox, or ICON Suspension? I'm leaning towards ICON. I'll even take a biased answer. Thanks.

Asked by: Pat Cook - 3/20/2017
Customer Answer The choice really depends on what kind of on-street ride quality you want, what kind of off-road performance you're looking for, and what's your budget. ICON's components tend to provide a bit better bang-for-your-buck performance, especially since Fox doesn't currently offer a UCA. Fox's 2.5 coilovers and rear shocks don't ride quite as stiff on the street as ICON, so if you're looking to maximize street comfort while still getting 2.5s all around, then Fox may be a better choice. Most of us at Stage 3 prefer ICON due to their slightly better off-road performance and handling.
