Customer Question I have a 2018 f150 5.0 with massive CAI, long tube headers, tune. Am I able to regap these to non boost specs, and get the benefit of the cooler application?

Asked by: 5.0runner - 5/5/2025
Customer Answer These are not recommended to run on a bolt on only vehicle. We've never tried this and could not guarantee what results you would have.

Customer Question I have a 2015 f150 with the gen 2 coyote, S&B Cold air intake, 3 inch cat back several 5 star tubes. Throttle body spacer, catch can . But I have low rpm spark knock no matter what octane fuel I run. I've heard cooler plugs may help this. What are your thoughts? Please advise

Asked by: Scott - 3/30/2024
Customer Answer These plugs would not be recommended on naturally aspirated engines so we could not guarantee what results you would have. We would recommend reaching out to the calibrators at 5 star with the issues you are having. They will most likely have you do some datalogging for them so they can see what the truck is doing and can make adjustments or recommendations based off the data from the log files.

Customer Question These are pregapped out of the box to .035 correct?

Asked by: Briank - 2/19/2022
Customer Answer According to Ford Performance, that is correct. That being said, it is still a good idea to check before installation.

Customer Question What’s the concessions on running these on a stock 5.0L v8? I purchased them and now I don’t want to harm my engine, I read that they will work with a stock engine, is that correct?

Asked by: Keepontrucking - 12/29/2021
Customer Answer Colder plugs in a stock engine generally won't hurt anything as far as permanent damage or anything like that. The only real issue is that you may get some accelerated fouling of the plugs and eventual misfires without a lot of benefit. If you are planning on adding mods or a supercharger in the near future, then may not have an issue.

Customer Question Are these good with a 5.3L stroker coyote with cams, cnc ported heads etc.. but not boosted (yet)?

Asked by: Matt - 8/28/2021
Customer Answer As long as your heads can accept the stock spark plugs, you'd be able to use these. That being said, it would probably be a good idea to talk to your custom tuner and see what plugs they recommend.
