Just installed this intake with the help of a buddy, only put about 25 miles on it so far, but it seems to be a bit more responsive and the big end is just scary. Don't really see a difference in normal driving which in my opinion is a good thing but if you go wide open its unbelievable. Thanks to Chris and the crew at Stage 3 for once again coming through with a great product and service as always.

Best mod for the buck
I ordered the boss intake and installed it on my 2011 5.0 with the help of some friends. If you thought a tune and cold air intake wakes up your car you will be blown away by the fun factor of this item on your GT. It took about 2.5 hours with a few interruptions in between and was worth it. With the service and tune from S3M I knew I could not go wrong.

Fairly easy install if you know what your doing. Took me about 2 hours with a friend. Modifications will need to be done to wiring and vacuum line on drivers side, so do not attemp unless your prepared.

The part is being installed professionally today by my preferred mechanic. It would be nice if stage 3 would inform customers of which specific tune they will need for the boss 302 high rise manifold. I have the sct bdx so all I need is the specific tune!?

Customer Question Will this fit my Ford F150 XLT 5.0L v8?

Customer Answer This intake can fit the truck version of the 5.0L truck, but will need custom tuning as well as some years of the F150 would also require to extend hoses and make modifications to the manifold itself. We offer packages built by 5 star tuningwith the intakes modified that include tuning, and a cold air intake that will work on the F150 in our power packages section if you look under your trucks year.

Customer Question Do you need a tune to run this manifold or could you run it normally without a tune and also doas it work on both Manuel and automatic gear boxes?

Customer Answer A larger throttle body is not strictly required, though the manifold can accept larger 85mm and 90mm throttle bodies if you want to jump up.

Customer Question Would this fit in a 2011 Ford F-150 V8 5.0? Would this also work with a K&N Series 77 High Flow Performance Cold Air Intake, BBK 85mm Throttle Body, and 5 Star X4/SF4 Power Flash Tuner?

Customer Answer The intake manifold requires a modified cold air intake and won't work with a standard stock-replacement intake kit. Your much better bet would be to grab the 5-Star Boss 302 Manifold Kit that comes with the correct intake and 5-Star custom tuning.

Customer Answer Not directly. For fitment on an F150, you would need a heavily modified intake system, custom tuning, and slight modifications to the Boss Manifold itself. Your much better bet would be to get one of these packages that include a Boss Manifold, intake, and tuning.

Customer Question I have a 2013 F150 with the 5.0...i have a volant CAI on the truck already, so would I need the install kit? Or could i get away with just purchasing this intake by itself?

Customer Answer The Boss 302 manifold requires a heavily modified intake to work on an F150 5.0L. Your would still need the install kit, along with 5-Star's custom tunes in order for the intake manifold to fit and function properly.

Customer Answer If you mean for an F150, then no. Installation of a Boss 302 manifold on a 2011-2014 F150 5.0L requires a custom intake, and the aFe intake 5-Star includes in the 302 manifold package is customized to fit the manifold. An aFe intake meant for a stock F150 will not fit with a Boss 302 manifold out of the box.

Customer Question I have a Roush CAI. Will I need the install kit since this CAI fit without any mods?

Customer Answer Technically speaking, you would need the install kit, since the Roush intake is only a drop-in for the factory air box and paper filter. However, Ford has discontinued production of the install kit which makes things interesting for folks in your position. That being said, you can still install the Boss 302 manifold without the install kit, but you would need to modify and extend some of your lines in order to get everything to work while stretching your inlet tubing up to the throttle body's new position. Customer Question How hard would it be to install this onto a 2011 5.0 f150?

Customer Answer It's a bit tougher to install on the trucks, due to the fact you need to roll the firewall slightly to squeeze in the back end of the manifold and you need a custom intake. If you want to install the manifold on your truck, your best bet would be our 5-Star F150 5.0L Boss 302R Manifold Package.

Customer Answer It basically comes with a new inlet elbow, PCV line, and vacuum line, but it's only necessary if you're using the Boss 302R manifold with your factory air box.
