2019 Ranger
I looked at all the tuner options for the Ranger and finally picked the one available from Ford. I am really happy with it, fairly easy install, just follow the instructions given and the increase is noticeable. Helped my Ranger drive better in drive mode of the transmission, the extra power and torque helped the 10 spd be able to shift like it did new, with the 33s I have on now. Overall mileage has gone back up to almost what it used to be before the level kit and larger tires but has better acceleration now.

I am very pleasantly surprised by how much of a difference the Ford tune made. The Ranger seemed to have a fair amount of power prior to the tune. Now that the tune is installed, its downright quick! Lot's of grunt. (Plus the tune doesn't affect my factory warranty)

2019 FORD RANGER XLT
This was an absolute game changer with the Ranger. It brought the power and torque up to what Ford should have done originally. It fixed the wonky shifting problems I was experiencing .

First of I just wanna thank Stage 3 Motorsports your company Rocks!!! As for the ford Performance power pack it’s awesome improves overall drivability and the towing is great i pull a sxs and trailer around 3000 lbs like nothing. I’m extremely happy with my ranger. And I had a 2018 F150 3.5 ecoboost before and don’t miss it one bit.

Great improvement for the Ranger. It still has a bit of turbo lag at first start but when it goes...wow. Definitely worth the upgrade. It is stated to only adjust up to a 265/70 tire but it was able to adjust for the 255/80R17 tire which is a 33.3" tall tire.

Very simple and basic install process if you’ve done something like an SCT before. I must say, the first drive was not impressive. Give it about 10-15 miles for the computer to adjust. Also, not until I simply cut out the muffler and welded in a free flow.. WOW! The turbo sings and the wheels spin from a roll! Pair this with ANY free flow exhaust offered by Stage3 and it really makes a huge difference. I can’t say enough, let the exhaust breathe with this tune and it’s worth it’s weight in gold. Without an exhaust.. not too impressed. Love it!

Super easy install just read the directions. Definitely noticeable gains! Tire size calibration is a little goofy because you have to do revolutions per mile not tire size. Just google that part for your tire size and you’ll be all set!

Super fast delivery by stage 3. Very easy to download into truck. Man it’s fast now. You do have to use 91 octane fuel but it’s worth it. Truck is do fun to drive.

Install took about 45 minutes. Maybe an hour if you account for creating an account with Ford performance and updating the passthrough device. I've put about 300 miles on it since installing the calibration. Throttle response is way better. Shift points are better. It's definitely quite a bit quicker than it was stock. I generally drive "like an old man" as my wife says, that being said I've seen an increase in fuel economy as well. Which is great considering the cost of fuel at the moment. But I find myself driving less like that old man and more like the younger me sometimes. I have to admit though I've not done a wot pull in it yet. And I bought it with 25 miles.

Much better than before. Truck pulls the boat better and the transmission shift is WAY better. So far getting a couple extra miles per gallon. Easy to get the get the warranty registered with Ford. Took to my dealer and the service manager had no issue with warranty using a ford part.

The power increase was immediately noticeable. Been way better to drive. The low end is awesome. The k&n filter the comes with it is better than stock, but it does feel like it needs a cold air intake now for sure.

Great tune to get the power back after adding bigger tires. Saw some gas mileage Improvement and power but the best part is it fixed the weird shifting in the 10speed. Shifts smooth and holds in the power band instead of jumping to 10th as soon as possible. Ford engineered this to keep the reliability and don't think there is a better adder to make the truck run like it should of from the factory

2022 Ford Ranger Tremor
Very happy with the Ford Performance Power Pack Calibration! I looked at several other tuners for the Ford Ranger. I chose to go with the Ford tuner as I wanted to stay with a Ford engineered product that maintained the warranty. While it is a mild tune, I’m very pleased with how the shift points have been smoothed out, which is what I really was looking for. I don’t tow so this tune was perfect for me.

Made a drastic improvement, I didn't add anything else, just did the tune and filter provided. I can tell you it really kicks compared to stock tune. Quite noticeable! Easy upgrade, for beginners or anyone who has done it before.

This tuner made an immediate and very noticeable increase in power. I bought it because I tow a mid-size RV with the Ranger and wanted a little more power and a little less strain on the engine. Also, after quite a bit of checking Stage 3 was the cheapest source, $200 less than many places. Shipping was quick and the tuner was easy to use. Very happy with Stage 3 and the tuner.

'22 Ranger Tremor
We'd been waiting (availability) to get this for my wife's Ranger. After reading reviews of people getting mpg gains, we wanted to reclaim lost mileage due to slight lift and tire upgrade. Just happened to install it right after getting a lined canopy installed, but was happy to feel a difference even though I hadn't driven it with the canopy yet. After her first commute over the mountain, she was already getting just over a mile per gallon improvement over what it got before the canopy. She's loving the extra pep!

Just wrapped up installing this and it was easy! The initial download of the stock file took a bit longer than I anticipated so flip flops and shorts in December for that step is not recommended! Truck is still doing its transmission adaptive learning but it already shifts so much better. For sure worth the price!

Customer Answer Ford recommends 91 octane gas or higher especially in their Ford Performance line of tuning. Lower octane fuel in a turbo charged engine can result in a much leaner mixture which can cause engine issues.

Customer Answer The calibration file that Ford Performance offers, still has the auto stop/start function active. So if you didn't want to have auto stop/start active, you would still need to run the eliminator after loading the calibration file to your Ranger.

Customer Answer Yes, the calibration file will work on a 2023 Ranger with no issues. The 2022-2023 Ranger are not yet CARB compliant, but as long as you are not in a CARB state that will not be an issue.

Customer Question I am having trouble finding a dealership that will install this. The most recent dealer I spoke with said one of the reasons they are not willing to install it is there are supposedly issues with the tune being detected during annual inspection, and failing inspection for it (not california). - The documentation clearly says this is 49 state compliant. Is it bad for the vehicle to go back to the stock tune once a year, then back to this tune?

Customer Answer That really comes down to the year of your Ranger. Currently that only has CARB approval for the 2019-2021 Ranger, so if you are in an area that goes by CARB standards and you have a 2022 or newer Ranger this would not be legal to use. CARB approval is pending for the newer years so as soon as that comes through there will be a new CARB number issued and the tuner will come with that information and sticker once that happens.

Customer Question I have a 2022 Ford Roush Ranger and they do not offer a Performance Pack upgrade to stock. They recommended to check on the Ford Performance models to avoid voiding warranty. Just wanted to make sure this was an option that would work on my truck before ordering. And if I needed to get it installed at a Ford dealership or if I can just do it myself.

Customer Answer If Roush didn't tune the truck, then this device should work on a 2022 Ranger. To keep the warranty, this kit would need to be installed by a Ford Tech or ASE-certified tech.

Customer Answer This tuning is not strictly guaranteed to give you improved fuel economy. That being said, you usually will see a slight bump in fuel economy with this tuning, and if you're seeing a drop, you may want to look into other potential issues like spark plugs/spark plug gap, ignition coils, intake system cleaning, throttle body cleaning, fuel injector issues, fuel quality issues, choice of tire, tire pressure, and many others.

Customer Answer The ProCal 4 tool does not yet have support for the 2022 Rangers. There's a number of reasons as to why including not having tuning available yet for all the 2022 Ranger PCM strategies, holdups in CARB approval, lack of Ford resources due to the 2023 Ranger launch, etc.

Customer Answer It will not. This tune is designed for bone-stock trucks. That being said, there are certain modifications that won't effect it (i.e. BOVs, cat-back exhausts, intercoolers, OE-replacement spark plugs/coil packs) and will work just fine. Customer Question Reading the questions, answers and dates it sounds like the tune had been upgraded to tow with at this point. I do have a slide in pop up camper and find using the tow/haul mode is very beneficial. Does the tune have any effect on this feature?

Customer Answer It's generally better to use the Ford Performance filter. The issue is less that your average aftermarket intake would cause an issue and more that on the off-chance you have an issue with the tune, Ford Performance would likely blame your intake first, whereas there could be another issue.

Customer Answer Ford Performance now does have support for the 2022 models. That being said, the ProCal 4 tool you receive will likely need a firmware update, since this support was just pushed out and confirmed.

Customer Answer You could still technically use this calibration, but it won't adjust your speedometer for 33" tires. Your much better bet would be some sort of custom tuning.

Customer Answer Your best bet would be to try updating the ProCal 4 tuning device's firmware by connecting it to your PC. Your device may have been built before the latest 2021 Ranger strategy codes. Customer Answer This package comes with a K&N air filter, so you'd end up with extraneous hardware. As far as the tuning, we can't strictly guarantee that you won't have issues.

Customer Answer If you mean trying to "stack" the two, then no. Both the Roush tune and Ford Performance Pack tune overwrite your truck's PCM software, and they can't be installed at the same time.

Customer Question Does the ProCal 4 tool have the tuning already loaded? I've seen other sites that sell this unit without the tune, you must get the tune from ford. Do I have to have ford or a certified technician install this to get the 36000 mile warranty? I'm capable of installing myself, but curious if I void the warranty. Thank you

Customer Answer It's our understanding that the device does not come out of the box with a tune. You will need to use the include voucher with Ford online to get the tuning once you register on Ford Performance's site. In theory, there's no reason why you can't do this install yourself. Ford's instructions are here. As for your Warranty, Ford Performance states this calibration won't effect your powertrain or bumper-to-bumper warranties. However, all warranty decisions are up to individual service centers, and your best bet would be to talk to your service advisor directly.

Customer Question Can this tune be used with larger 285 size tires or is there a better performance tune for Rangers with oversized tires? I have a 2020 Ranger 4X4.

Customer Answer This tuning can only adjust for up to 265/70R17 or 31.5"x10.5" tires. You could potentially tune a 285/65R17 just fine, since it's a similar diameter, but the device can't tune anything beyond a 31.5" diameter.

Customer Answer According to Ford Performance, this calibration kit does not effect your Ranger's Powertrain Warranty. However, all warranty decisions are up to individual dealerships and service centers, and your best bet would be to contact your local service center directly and make sure they honor it.
