2019 Ford Ranger FX4 Lariat
OMG! What a pain in the butt! It’s much harder to do that the video makes it out to be. I’ve been turning wrenches for 40 years professionally and I had a very difficult time accessing the pcv hose, could only get one hand in and only in a certain angle to remove and install hoses. I think it’s supposed to take 1.5 hours but I would double that, Hands were pretty beat up when I was done. As for the quality I would say it’s excellent, new hoses were the perfect length, all else was top notch.

Similar to what the other review said. Very difficult to install. If you have big hands and arms it's gonna be tough. Hard to access the original line to uninstall and then connect the new ones. Can only get one hand in and difficult to get the right grips or push on to the barb ends. Quality and construction are good, but plan on your hands and arms getting beat up installing it. The video made it look a lot easier than it really was. Still glad I got it an put it on though.

PIA - if you have normal to larger hands and arms expect 2 or more hours. My arm / hand would not fit well. I finally used 2 medium narrow pry bars to gently remove and install the new back fitting. This took about 15 minutes once I figured out what to use.. PIA If you have small hands and arms - no problem.

Yep it's a tough install. You'll be doing most of it by feel and the tops of your hands will get scratched up, but I expected that reading the other reviews. Clear your afternoon for the install. It's winter here in New England and it fills fast; tops off in about two weeks, so I end up emptying about 2 times a week. It looks like a mix of oil and gas, and on occasion, there's even some chunky bits! Who knows how much catch cans ACTUALLY work, but I'm glad all that crap isn't going back through the intake.

2022 Ford Ranger
This is an excellent catch can, I installed one in a Fiesta ST and used it over 100,000 miles catching 1/2 to 1 oz of fluid between oil changes (every 5000 miles). I highly recommend installing one on any ecoboost. When this catch can arrived it did not include instructions and the instructions on mishimoto’s website seem to be for the 2019 model year only. The instructions say you will find a both ends of a Pcv line behind a coolant line on the drivers side of the engine, above the oil filter. On my 2022 only one connection was in that location and the other was on the intake manifold on top of the engine. I trimmed 6 inches off the provided straight hose and routed both hoses in slightly different locations than what the instructions said to.

Customer Question What size and type fitting for the plug on the bottom to make i to a drain

Asked by: William - 1/26/2021
Customer Answer This can does not come with a drain plug. To drain the can, you have to unscrew the base from the percolator assembly to get the captured blow-by out.

Customer Question Being a 3 oz can what is the recommended service interval for normal city driving staying out of boost mostlym

Asked by: Kevin - 1/1/2021
Customer Answer Blow-byu generation can vary wildly depending on, driving habits, climate, and individual truck quirks. Your best bet would be check the can after about a week or two of operation to see where you're at, and adjust your schedule from there.

Customer Question Is this kit legal in Pennsylvania?

Asked by: James - 5/25/2020
Customer Answer In general, as long as Pennsylvania has not adopted CARB emissions standards, then you should not have issues passing emissions. However, you'll need to check your local emissions guidelines, since each state (and even city and county) have different emissions regulations and testing procedures.

Customer Question Does the void the manufacturers warranty?

Asked by: Dan - 5/24/2020
Customer Answer In general, a basic bolt-on kit like this will not have an effect on your vehicle's powertrain or bumper-to-bumper warranties, assuming a proper installation. That being said, all warranty decisions are up to individual dealerships, and your best bet would be to talk to your service advisor directly about what kind of leeway they give.
