2004-2025 Ford F150 4WD 8.8 inch IFS Motive Master Install Kit | R8.8RIFSMKT

This was a good kit. The marking compound was excellent compared to compound included in other competitors kits. Bearings are all high quality as is pinion seal. The issues I had were mostly with shims. The pinion shims were simply to few and not enough variance in thickness. I finally found a combination that achieved and acceptable pattern but I could not get the thickness I wanted. A small number in the .003-.005 range would be a nice addition. The carrier shim pack was absent. Completely missing. I had the front torn apart before discovering this (my fault for not properly inventorying parts prior to beginning) and had to purchase a shim pack at the local parts store. There was also no reverse oil baffle. This is damaged when punching out the inner pinion race. That is a ford or yukon only part. A critical part. Not sure how you call it a master kit and do not include those two items. Lastly, there were no outer seals. They give you outer bearings, but no seals. This does not male sense to me as you have to remove (and likely destroy) the seals to get the bearing out. All in all this is an ok product. The options for F150 gears were limited compared to my Jeep JKU and so Motive got the nod. Apples to apples I feel lime the other brand which include in their kit both outer seals and the baffle.
