HP Tuners RTD Flasher Instructions (Via Windows PC)
Most Applications Will Use This Method
Note: Wi-Fi is required to read and write to your vehicle. Ensure you have a strong Wi-Fi connection and that your Windows laptop (required) battery is charged or connected to a power source.
Download RTD Flasher Software
Steps to Read Your Vehicle:
- Open the RTD Flasher software after installation.
- Connect your RTD/RTD+ device to your vehicle's OBDII port.
- Use the provided USB cable to connect the RTD/RTD+ device to your computer.
- Turn your vehicle to the "ON" position (push-button vehicles: press once without pressing the brake).
- Select the "Read Vehicle" option (book icon with green arrow) in the RTD Flasher software.
- Click "Gather Information" after selecting "Read Vehicle."
- For vehicles with multiple modules:
- Single module: Ensure "Read Entire" is selected.
- Two modules (engine and transmission): Select "Read Entire" for both.
- Verify the correct settings and select "Read." This process may take up to 20 minutes.
- Follow on-screen prompts to cycle the key if required during the process.
- Save the file with an easy-to-find name (e.g., FirstName LastName stockfile) on your desktop.
- Email the saved stock file to: [email protected].
Note: If you have not submitted your vehicle information and tune selection, complete the Calibration Request Form.
Steps to Write Tunes to Your Vehicle:
- Download your received tunes to an easy-to-find location on your computer.
- Connect your RTD/RTD+ device to the OBDII port and your computer.
- Open RTD Flasher and select "Help" > "Resync Interface" to add vehicle credits.
- Click "Close" after resyncing, then select "File" > "Open File" to load your tune file.
- Turn the key to the "ON" position without starting the vehicle.
- Click the "Write" icon (book icon with red arrow) beside the "Read" icon.
- Select "Show License," specify the controllers, and commit to the license.
- Ensure all dropdowns are set to "Write Calibration," then click "Write."
- Follow on-screen prompts to cycle the key, and wait for the "Flash Completed" message.
