High-Quality S&B Intake with Reusable Oiled Air Filter
A key part of the package is the S&B cold air intake system, which is designed to help the twin turbo EcoBoost engine breathe more efficiently. Turbocharged engines depend on a steady supply of clean air, and the factory intake can become restrictive once you start asking for more performance. The S&B system replaces the stock air box and inlet tubing with a larger, smoother design that allows the turbos to draw in a greater volume of air. At the center of the intake is a reusable oiled cotton air filter built with durable silicone ends that resist heat and cracking. The filter provides excellent filtration while still allowing strong airflow, which helps improve throttle response and power delivery. The intake also uses a sealed air box with a larger forward scoop that pulls in cooler outside air. Together, these upgrades help the engine breathe easier and give the truck a stronger, more responsive feel.
Easy to use Tuning Device with 5-Star Custom Tunes
Once the airflow improvements are in place, the SCT BDX tuner and 5-Star custom tuning bring everything together. The BDX connects directly to the truck’s OBD-II port and allows the engine computer to be recalibrated with performance focused tuning. These custom tunes adjust boost pressure, fuel delivery, ignition timing, and transmission behavior so the engine can take full advantage of the increased airflow. The device itself is easy to use thanks to its simple interface and WiFi capability, which allows you to download and update tunes without connecting to a computer. In addition to performance tuning, the BDX can monitor engine data in real time and read or clear diagnostic trouble codes whenever needed. Warranty vs. Non-Warranty Tune Note: there is no difference in function, horsepower, or torque between Warrantied Custom Tunes and Non-Warrantied Custom Tunes. The only difference between the two, whatsoever, is that Warrantied Tunes will have less parameters (i.e. tire size, gear ratio, etc) open to end-user adjustment.
Off-Road Exhaust Systems: 5-Star can no longer provide custom tuning for off-road exhaust systems that delete catalytic converters. 5-Star can only tune for catted exhaust systems. However, 5-Star WILL NOT disable your rear oxygen sensors, which may result in a check engine light.
