2012 F-150 Ecoboost
Great kit. Easy install. So much better than stock in looks and performance. The Intake give you a little added juice with the boost in air and a slight volume increase. The tunes are how the truck should have been programmed at the manufacturer. Drives nice. Gear shifting always keeps you in better control of acceleration or breaking depending on what you are doing. After having experiencing it I could not imagine towing something heavy without a good tune. Thanks for the work,

Customer Question I need help with some info, Im waiting for my high flow catalytic converters from y’all, it strongly recommends a professional tune but if I were to get the S&B air intake with the bully dog tuner would the be the professional tune I need. I’m also running a 4inch MBRP straight pipe.

Customer Answer 5-Star can tune for high-flow catalytic converters, but they will not disable the rear oxygen sensors, so your truck may throw a check engine light if you're going to use true high-flows, and not 48-state legal cats. You'd just need to list the specific cats/downpipes when you fill out your tune form.

Customer Question Is the intake on this convertable? My MAF sensor is one of those wide chip looking style?

Customer Answer This intake fits both 2011 F150s with a standard blade-style MAF sensor and the 2012-2014 F150s with the updated MAP sensor.

Customer Question When you pick the three tunes that come with the SCT X4 tuner, will these tunes come loaded onto the tuner when received in the mail?

Customer Answer They will not. We still need information off your truck in order for 5-Star to write your tunes, and some of that information can only be found with the tuning device (namely your PCM strategy code). Once you have your device, you'll pull the necessary information and then use our Online Tune Form to submit it. After we and 5-Star receive your form, it'll take about a full business day to write your tunes. When they're ready, you'll be sent a link to download your tunes, which you'll then transfer over to your device.

Customer Question If you buy the tuner by itself, there is an option for some free 5 star tunes. What would it cost in addition to this package price to add a few of those to the tuner?

Customer Question Why is there no warranty available for this package? Also do you have a package with just the intake and tuner with a warranty?

Customer Answer Because this kit does not come with 5-Star's tuning. It only comes with an SCT device with SCT's "canned" performance tuning, which we don't warranty. An intake and tuner kit with warranty options is available right here.

Customer Question I recently purchased a 2011 3.5L EB and the odometer just rolled over to 90k. The factory warranty expired in September. But the vehicle was very well maintained and is in immaculate cosmetic and mechanical condition. Still, I want to protect my investment. I'm looking to upgrade and try to get some more power and especially fuel economy out of this very capable engine but want to know if you think it's wise with the mileage? Any other products you'd recommend with this kit to help ensure longevity? Not so much worried about the block as the tranny and turbos. Also, side note, with the intake being CARB compliant will I still pass smog with the tune or would I need to flash to stock prior to testing? Sorry for the long winded questions. Thank you for the time and consideration. Looking forward to the purchase after some clarity.

Customer Answer For those older trucks, we generally recommend grabbing a catch can and getting new Motorcraft spark plugs gapped down to .030". It's also a goo idea to clean out your truck's intercooler, just to help avoid the infamous "EcoBoost shudder". As far as this kit's concerned, if you're in California, we can't ship the tuner or the charge pipe to you, due to the fact that neither of them are CARB-approved. You can call us directly at 1-877-578-2433, and we can put together a package with CARB-approved components and tuning,

Customer Question Will this work on 2014 tremor?

Customer Answer It might. The issue right now is that SCT does not have tuning for all of the PCM strategies out there for the 2014 F150s or Tremors. Your best bet is to give us a call directly at 1-877-578-2433 so we can see if SCT has unlocked your 2014 Tremor's strategy code as of yet.

Customer Question In this package I see you have the Power SCT X4 Handheld Tuner is it possible to get this package with the EDGE CTS Touch Screen Programmer instead. I don't see a package that has it with the charge pipe but no exhaust. And if its possible what is the price difference? Thank you.

Customer Question Can you clarify for me the best way to use the Oil filters versus Dry filters? We are going to purchase a phase 1 package as suggested by you. but I'm not sure of the applications for the different Filters. we are upgrading for towing mostly.

Customer Answer Filter choices depend more upon climate and maintenance preference than application. Both dry and oiled filters would be adequate for towing. We generally recommend the Pro Dry S filters for dry and dusty conditions (like here in Arizona), just because its easier to clean and maintain. More temperate areas should go for the Pro 5R, because it does flow slightly better than the aFe's other filter options and blowing dust isn't a huge threat.
