The S3M Phase 1 Performance Package is designed to do exactly that by improving how your engine breathes and refining how it delivers power. Highly Efficient aFe Cold Air Intake for Better Airflow
A big part of the improvement comes from the aFe Magnum FORCE Stage 2 cold air intake system. The factory intake does its job, but it restricts airflow more than necessary when the engine starts working harder. aFe replaces the stock air box, paper filter, and inlet tubing with a more efficient setup that allows the engine to draw in a greater volume of air. At the center of the system is the Pro 5R reusable oiled air filter, which uses multiple layers of filtration media to capture contaminants while still allowing strong airflow. The filter sits inside a heat shield assembly that helps protect it from engine bay heat, which keeps incoming air cooler and more consistent. Air then travels through a smooth inlet tube that leads directly to the throttle body, maintaining airflow velocity along the way. The result is improved throttle response, stronger horsepower and torque gains, and an intake system that can be cleaned and reused for the life of the truck.
SCT X4 Tuner with Custom 5-Star Tunes
Once the engine can breathe better, the SCT X4 handheld tuner and 5-Star custom tuning bring the entire package together. The X4 connects directly to the truck’s OBD-II port and allows you to upload custom tuning that adjusts fuel delivery, ignition timing, and transmission behavior. These changes help the 6.2L engine deliver stronger low end torque and smoother power throughout the rev range. The improvement is especially noticeable when the truck gets moving from a stop or when it is pulling under load. The tuner itself features a clear color screen and simple controls that make navigating menus and loading tunes quick and straightforward. Along with the custom 5-Star tunes, the device also includes preloaded tuning options and the ability to monitor engine data in real time. It can read and clear diagnostic codes as well, making it a useful tool to keep in the truck long after the initial tune is installed. Together with the intake upgrade, the tuning helps your Super Duty feel more responsive and capable every time you hit the road.
How to Choose Five 5-Star Custom Tunes
All of 5-Star's tunes are available in 87, 89, 91, and 93 octane flavors so that you can get the tuning you need for the most commonly available fuel octane in your area. How our F250 & F350 6.2L Custom Tuning Works
After you order your tuner, you are sent a
"blank" tuner without any custom tunes. We'll then send you an email that needs to be completely filled out and emailed back to us. However, you'll need to have your tuner before you can complete the form. After your tuner arrives, you'll need to hook it into your truck and get your
ECU Strategy Code and put it in your tune email next to "Strategy". After we receive your completed tune information, the tune itself will be built and sent to you via email as an attachment. Download the tunes .cef files to your computer and use your updated SCT software from SCT's website to upload the tunes to your tuner. Please be aware that SCT's devices and software are
only compatible with Microsoft Windows computers, and will not work with Mac OS X, Linux, or other operating systems. Once the tunes are in the tuner, you can then tune your truck. Stage 3's 5-Star Custom Tuning Step-by-Step:
1. You place your order for 5-Star's Custom Tunes
2. Stage 3 sends you a "blank" tuner and a tune sheet form
3. You hook the tuner into your truck and pull its ECU strategy code
4. You fill out our tune sheet with the information from your truck and its strategy code
5. If your truck has Ford's latest strategy updates, we'll forward your information over to 5-Star and get your tunes created
6. Once 5-Star creates your tunes, they're be emailed to you at the address linked to your Stage 3 account
7. Download 5-Star's tunes to your tuning device using SCT's Device Updater Software
8. Now load your 5-Star Custom Tune of choice into your Super Duty
