it helps with squat, but if you go over a series of pot holes or train tracks, or any kind of off roading, i have found that they make the rear end almost hop around a lot more when the truck is empty, sumo said well it sounds like you need rear shocks, didn't have this issue before the install, but against better judgment I replaced rear shocks with some nice bilstein shocks and as suspected didn't change the hop, if you're going around a corner fast and hit some pot holes it will grab you're attention very quickly like driving on ice.

I LOVE these. I installed them WITHOUT the spacer, so I have an inch of suspension travel that is completely stock. Loading a 700 lb tongue weight trailer only squats about 2" at the rear fender. This trailer is a 26' travel trailer, and I noted a significant improvement in sway and rear planting with the addition of the Sumos and Bilstein 4600's. One poster noted hop over small rapid bumps (train tracks), and I initially noted this also, but removal of the spacer resolved the issue for me.

Customer Question The bump stop same as airbag. They hold air or just a made out of a solid material? I haul 210 gallon barrel sometime a 275 just needed something to help with the weight and sag. don't want to add helper spring cause it raises the rear end and have bad ride. have a set of helper spring and just hit my frame when driving off road with a load of water, don't like to deal with airbag also want a stock look when you look under the truck.

Asked by: Deion - 1/27/2021
Customer Answer The SumoSprings are not the same as springs. The SumoSprings are essentially extended bump stops made out of a unique microfoam that still lets the axle articulate, but also provides some additional load support by preventing squat.

Customer Question I have a 2012 fx4 with a 6 inch lift. Will these work? What is the best option the air bags or these

Asked by: Brandon Eric Wright - 5/15/2020
Customer Answer As long as your lift kit of choice didn't modify or otherwise change the factory bump stop mounts, then the SumoSprings will work on your truck. No option is really "best". Air Springs or extended bump stops really comes down to how much you tow/haul, how often you tow/haul, whether your lift kept any rake, and whether or not you're willing to sacrifice any on-road ride quality for improved loaded stability. If you don't tow a lot/often, if you don't get a ton of rear rake when towing, and you want to keep as much ride quality as possible, then the SumoSprings are the way to go.

Customer Question What is the length? Can they be used with a Roadmaster active suspension kit?

Asked by: Jim - 5/15/2020
Customer Answer The entire spring assembly is roughly 9.5" tall if you include the optional spacer, and 8.5" without. We have not tried the combination ourselves. Since the SumoSpring sits inboard of the leafs and contacts the axle, you can likely use the RAS in conjunction with them. However, we can't 100% guarantee that you won't have to make some custom modifications.

Customer Question How do the blue and black springs compare? I haul an 850 lb atv and want to reduce the drop in the rear and want to know if I'd be better with the 1000 lb or 1500 lb set.

Asked by: clees606 - 9/8/2019
Customer Answer We have yet to try these out as of yet, though we are hoping to get them on one of our project trucks for testing soon. On paper, the lower-rated Blue Springs will ride less stiff if your axle does come into contact with them than the black. In theory, you would be fine going with the 1000lb-rated springs, though you would get less sag with the 1500lbs springs, since they are a touch stiffer.
