While engine upgrades, lifts, wheels and tires are all great ways of enhancing the utility of your F150, we know that sometimes it's the simple accessories that can make all the difference. For this reason we grabbed a few key accessories for our 2012 F150 EcoBoost to get some extra functionality out of our rig. You can purchase these exact mods in the product section at the bottom of this page.
Our 2012 F150 FX4 truck came with a pretty decent spray-in bed liner, which meant that we could hold off on a complete BedRug Bedliner kit. Still, the spray-in liner is fairly slippery and left our cargo sliding all over the bed. The solution to our problem came in the form of one of BedRug's skid and weather resistant bed mat kits. These mats are some of BedRug's most popular products and getting them installed was an absolute breeze. Take a look at our Install Guide for this BedRug bed mat. 2004-2014 Ford F150 BedRug Mat With Existing Bed Liner
A critical mistake that we made with previous project trucks was leaving the rear wheel wells open to utter disaster in the form of mud, clay, sand, and grime that loved to get kicked up when we were playing around off-road. Needless to say, a ton of gunk managed to perch itself deep into our wheel wells and was pretty much impossible to fully dislodge. We corrected this issue by picking up a pair of Husky Liners' 2006 to 2014 F150 Rear Wheel Well Liners. These high-quality polyethylene liners pop into place quickly and are perfectly contoured to fit your truck for simple installation and factory look. We generally haul around a lot of tools, recovery gear and hardware when we go for a spin out in the desert or pines. What we didn't want was a big, bulky toolbox that would prevent us from installing a tonneau cover or a BedRug mat in the rear of our F150. Instead of a traditional toolbox, our friends over at Undercover provided us with one of their awesome Swing Case Toolboxes. This unique storage box is contoured to fit snugly into the side of your truck's bed. It mounts on a specialized hinged bracket that latches against the side of your bed, and easily pulls out toward your truck's tailgate when you need to access your stuff. Installation is simple, and each Swing Case comes with self-drilling screws allowing you to just line up the bracket and bolt it into place. PCV oil vapor blow-by from your EcoBoost's cylinder heads can hinder the engine's performance and longevity. A catch can system is crucial to fixing this problem so we installed a 2011-2014 F150 EcoBoost UPR Single-Valve Oil Separator kit. The Single-Valve catch can captures blow-by from the passenger's side PCV ports on your cylinder head, making it an effective way of eliminating the infamous EcoBoost condensation problems and reducing the chances of intake valve coking. The Single-Valve can was extremely easy to install thanks to its pre-cut lines and plug-and-play fittings. 2011-2014 F150 3.5L EcoBoost UPR Single-Valve Billet Catch Can
