Here at Stage 3 Motorsports we've recently loaded up a couple of our project trucks with Nitto's Trail Grappler M/T Tires to see if these massive tires are as tough and dependable as they look. So far we're more than pleased. While these aggressive Mud Terrain tires definitely look like eye-candy for any off-road truck owner, they've also proven to be equally tough in some of the most harsh conditions we could find. Traversing rocky and uneven trails is hardly a challenge while they also give you the confidence to own most snowy and icy conditions without even flinching.
Even our greatest attempts at getting stuck in heavy snow and mud were quickly thwarted by Nitto's Trail Grappler MT Tires. Seriously. We tried multiple times, but getting un-stuck from mud, snow and any other extreme conditions has not been much of a challenge. These tires feature wide and deep grooves that have been designed to dislodge rocks as quickly as you come into contact with them while deflecting thick mud from sticking so you don't even break a sweat while trying to power through.
Since we threw a set of 35x12.50R20LT Nitto Trail Grappler M/T Radial Tires on our 2015 F150 3.5L EcoBoost Lariat FX4 Project Truck we haven't looked back. These chunky and aggressive tires feature a 3-ply sidewall and thick rubber construction that increases puncture resistance while the blocks provide additional biting edges for stability and enhanced traction. In other words, it's hard to get stuck when you're rocking a set of these bad boys.
Our big beast of a 2014 F250 6.7L Super Duty Project Truck, while incredibly heavy and bulky, instantly gained more support and traction when we strapped on a set of these 38x13.50R20LT Nitto Trail Grappler MTs as well. The wide open tread pattern rejects rocks and mud before they become a problem while still providing enough bite to get you through rough off-road conditions with ease. We also really appreciate the sidewall pattern as it not only looks aggressive but also provides that extra push of traction. Another great feature is that, while we expected them to be noisy during highway and street driving because of their size and being an MT tire in general, they still remain very stable and moderately quiet for those stretches when you're on the pavement.
We currently have Nitto's entire line up of Trail Grappler MT sizes to meet the needs of your off-road truck build, from 40x13.50R17LT and 37x12.50R18LT all the way up to LT355/40R22 and the golden standard 35x12.50R20LT.
