This 2015 F150 build has various exterior accessories, bed accessories, and other useful little upgrades on it that have helped increase the utility of the truck. As we went about installing all these parts, we did end up swapping some out so we could try others, which means you'll notice the truck evolving a little bit as you go through the build. Check out all the details on these accessory installs below! You can purchase these exact mods in the product section at the bottom of this page.
Putco Boss Upper Grille with 10" LED's
Adding to our F150's visual appeal and lighting is the Putco Boss Upper Grille. This grille features a bulky mesh design that meets in a thick frame all around the edge with a pair of Putco's 10" Luminix Off-Road LED Light Bars making for an aggressive and clean package. The Boss Grille Installs without the need for cutting and trimming to your F150's factory grille. 15-17 F150 Putco Boss Upper Grille with 10" LED Lights
BedRug Bedtred Ultra Liner (5.5 ft Bed)
We here at Stage 3 are the type of people that use the living heck out of our trucks beds, and even the factory plastic bed liner doesn't seem to last long against the abuse we throw at it. That's why we upgraded to the BedRug Bedtred Ultra Bed Liner. Unlike BedRug's other liners, the BedTred isn't made from fibers, but from a composite material that's non-slick, scratch resist, UV-resilient, and can take a beating without letting the truck's bed feel the strain. 2015-2017 F150 5.5ft Bed BedRug BedTred Ultra Bed Liner
F150 DeeZee Tailgate Assist
While we were taking care of bed-related items on our truck, we decided to throw on DeeZee's 2015-2017 F150 Tailgate Assist. Instead of gravity just slamming our F150's tailgate down when we pull the handle, the Tailgate Assist allows the tailgate to slowly fall to a gentle stop, which saves wear-and-tear on the tailgate and makes things easier when you have you hands full. It's a quick painless install that makes a big difference when using your truck's bed. 2015-2017 F150 DeeZee Tailgate Assist
BAK MX4 Tonneau Cover (5.5 ft Bed)
We topped off the bed of our F150 build with a BAK MX4 Tonneau Cover. The MX4 is fairly new to BAK's lineup and is a variation of their praised G2 tonneau. While the MX4 has the same heavy-duty aluminum panels as the G2, the MX4 comes with a matte black powder coat finish versus the G2s textured gloss black. The MX4 fit in great with our truck's mostly matte black decals, which kept our styling theme consistent while providing our truck's bed with the security we need. 2015-2017 F150 5.5ft Bed BAKFlip MX4 Hard Folding Tonneau Cover
AMP BedStep2 Box-Side Step
One thing we miss about the old step-side trucks was easy bed access. Since our 2015 XLT is going to be used for just about every truck application you can think of, we'd need an easy way to get into the bed without wrecking our F150's good looks. The AMP Research BedStep2 Box Side Step was the perfect answer. The step installs right in front of the driver's side rear wheel and folds away when you're not stepping on it, making it easy to reach an in-bed toolbox or your gear. 2015-2017 F-150 AMP Research BedStep2 Box-Side Step
F150 N-Fab Bumper Light Bar for Round Lights
Our Lund Bull Bar was a solid upgrade and the 20" light bar performed well, but we felt the need to switch to something that could accommodate some superior lighting. The solution was N-Fab's Bumper Light Bar for Round Off-Road Lights. The N-Fab Light Bar installs with only minor amounts of trimming and allows you to fit up to four 9" round off-road lights in a very clean and low-profile package. We chose to mount four of KC's 6" Pro Sport LED's on ours. Check out the Lighting Upgrades Section for more details! N-Fab's Bumper Light Bar for Round Off-Road Lights
F150 Ford OEM Rear Wheel Well Liners
We here at Stage 3 like to have a good time and get our trucks dirty, but when it comes time to cleaning them, the wheel wells are a project all by themselves. To prevent all the mud, rocks and grime from building up in the rear wheels wells of our 2015 F150 we installed a set of Ford OEM Rear Wheel Well Liners. They're an extremely easy upgrade to install and they'll save you time and heartache down the road when you're cleaning up after a day on the trail. F150 Ford OEM Rear Wheel Well Liners
Lund RX-Rivet Style Fender Flares
Fender flares aren't typically a part we install on our F150 projects, but for this build we decided to throw on a set of Lund RX-Rivet Style Fender Flares to give the truck a little bulkier look and help catch some of the mud and dirt that gets tossed up by the tires. They have a clean fit on the F150's fenders and the install was straight forward. We did end up removing these flares after awhile in order to pursue a different look for the truck. 2015-2017 F150 Lund RX-Rivet Style 4-Piece Fender Flares
Lund Bull Bar with 20" LED Light
We installed Lund's Bull Bar with a 20" LED Off-road Light bar on our F150 to add a bit of protection to the front end as well as some better lighting. With a large diameter, textured black finish, and a built-in LED bar the Lund LED Bar Bull Bar was a great fit for our aggressive black-on-white F150 build. This bull bar bolts on in place of your truck's front tow hooks creating a solid mounting point for the bar and a simple installation. 2004-2017 F150 Lund Bull Bar 20" LED Light Bar (Black)
