Plans for a massive 7" inch lift and 38" tires were on our minds as soon as we bought this F250, but we wanted to start small and build our way up to see which suspension setup we liked best and to test our Super Duty with different hardware. Our first step up from stock suspension was the Icon Stage 1 kit paired with Fuel Maverick Wheels and 35" Mickey Thompson tires.
Out with the old factory equipment and in with some new Icon goodness! Icon's Stage 1 kit comes with new dual-rate coil springs that add 2.5" of front lift and a full set of their awesome 2.0 Aluminum Series Shocks that instantly transformed our fridge on wheels into something that handles beautifully on-road while gaining travel, improving performance, and reducing fade off-road. This kit was an excellent upgrade for our truck and completely changed how it handled. Our 6.7L build is now less Ice Box and more weapon, on and off the road. With our truck at a slightly higher ride height, it was time to throw on some bigger wheels and tires so we could get a better look, more ground clearance, and improved traction off-road. The wheels we ended up grabbing for our 2014 6.7L Project Truck were a full set of 20x12" Fuel Maverick Wheels with a -44mm offset. The -44mm offset placed the wheels and tires a few inches outside the fender giving our truck a wider and more aggressive stance. We have since discontinued these wheels on our website, but give your truck a total facelift with our inventory of other 20x12" Wheels.
We wrapped up our new Maverick wheels in four 35x12.50" Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ P3s, which are quickly becoming our off road tire of choice for our trucks. The Baja ATZ P3 Tire is a hybrid mixture of tread that not only provides a smooth ride for daily driving, but also has deep enough ridges and aggressive sidewall ply which can help you maneuver through some of the most rugged terrain you can find. With these new tires and wheels mounted, our F250 build was really starting to come together! Although these tires are fantastic, we no longer carry them on our website.
