Having tested a few different leveling kit options our 2015 F150 the next step was to truly lift the truck and get some 35" tires underneath it. We threw on a Zone 6" Lift kit, Fuel Maverick Wheels and 35" Nitto Trail Grapplers, as well as an Auto Spring Add-A-Leaf and BDS Coilovers to create an insane suspension setup that not only looked good, but also performed admirably. You can purchase these exact mods in the product section at the bottom of this page.
With our 2015 F150 3.5L EcoBoost Project Truck already sitting on HaloLifts BOSS Coilovers we grabbed a standard 15-17 F150 Zone 6" Suspension Lift Kit, which when combined with the coilovers, created the exact equivalent of the Zone 6" Boss Coilover Lift Package. The front end of the truck was raised a full 6" thanks to Zone's strut spacer and the BOSS coilovers provided some adjust-ability as well as a more comfortable ride. The rear of the truck is pulled together with larger blocks and off-road shocks. Overall, this setup added huge ride height to our F150 and provided enough clearance to fit our 35" Nitto Trail Grappler Tires making it one of our best "bang for your buck" kits. Unfortunately, we no longer carry these lift kits, but we have a great selection of F150 6" Lift Kits that will also do the job.
With our F150 sitting on its new Zone lift, it was obvious that the factory wheels had to go. We chose to throw on a set of Fuel Maverick 20x10" D538 Wheels (6x135mm/-24mm Offset) that have a flat black finish with machined trim around the edges making for a nice, simple looking wheel that has a tough, off-road style. The Maverick's we picked have a -24mm offset that sets them out from the fenders a few inches, widening our F150's stance and maintaining the intimidating look that we wanted. Like the Zone lift kits, we no longer have these wheels in stock, but we do have a variety of 20x10" wheels to choose from, ensuring your custom build rides in style.
We needed new tires to wrap up our Fuel Maverick wheels, and the biggest you can fit on a 6" lift kit is a 35" tall tire. Given our success and their immense popularity with the off-road faithful, we opted for 35x12.50" Nitto Trail Grapplers. The Trail Grapplers have an awesome and aggressive look, but more importantly, they greatly improve the off-road traction of our F150. Despite being a true Mud Terrain tire, these Nitto's manage to stay fairly tame on-road with low road noise. 35x12.50R20LT Nitto Trail Grappler M/T Radial Tire
The front of our truck sat slightly higher than the rear so we wanted to bring the rear back up a bit to keep some rake for the towing and hauling we do on occasion. Giving us that extra rear lift was an Auto Spring Add-a-Leaf Kit. Auto Spring's Add-a-Leaf consists of a pair of extra leaf springs that install into your F150's factory leaf pack and add roughly 1.5" of ride height without restricting travel. Add-a-Leafs also add weight capacity, giving your F150 that much more hauling utility. 2015-2017 F150 Auto Spring Rear Add-a-Leaf Kit
While the Boss coilovers on the front end of our F150 did a good job at improving ride quality, we wanted to make sure this truck could really conquer the trails and fly around off-road without breaking a sweat. We went big and grabbed BDS's Fox 2.5 Remote Reservoir Front Coilovers for 6" Lift Kits and a pair of Fox 2.0 Rear Shocks for 6" Lifts. The front coilovers are a full-length design and replaced both the Boss coilovers and the Zone strut spacers on our F150. They're a powerful addition to just about any F150 build, and can handle extremely fast off-road driving with low levels of fade and near-flawless performance. The rear Fox 2.0 shocks pair nicely with the front coilovers, and are long enough to handle the increased rear ride height from our 6" lift kit. 2014-2016 F150 BDS Fox 2.5 Remote Reservoir Coilovers for 6" Lift Kits
The finishing touch on our ridiculous lift setup was a pair of ICON Delta Joint Tubular Upper Control Arms that help provide some extra room for articulation and more durability to handle the kind of "spirited" off-road driving we like. The Delta Joint has a fully-sealed housing with a zinc-plated finish that allows it to withstand corrosion and is protected by a grease seal, which prevents contaminants from entering the housing and causing damage.
