While an open differential may work fine for the daily drive to work, only having one of your F150's rear wheels receiving power when you're out in the bush can ruin your day in one heck of a hurry. Yukon's TracLock Rear Positraction for the Super 8.8" F150s is a clutch-type limited slip differential that can greatly improve your 2015-2024 F150's traction, handling, and performance when things get slippery. The Yukon TracLock Limited Slip Differential uses a series of sprung clutches to lock your F150's rear axles together when your truck gets into slick situations, but stays unlocked and functions like an open differential when you're driving around on the street. The Yukon TracLock provides an excellent improvement in traction both on and off-road and features a high-quality and high-strength construction that allows it to handle practically any application you have in mind.

High-Strength OEM Gears with Composite Clutches and Nodular Case

The Yukon TracLock LSD for the Super 8.8" F150s is built for ultimate reliability and longevity so that it doesn't let your F150 down. Each TracLock Positraction is an OEM Ford LSD for the Super 8.8" IRS equipped Mustangs that has been precisely machined and modified by Yukon to fit the straight axles of the 2015-2024 F150s with a Super 8.8" rear end. The differential will drop right into place of your F150's factory differential and will work with both stock ring-and-pinion gears, as well as most aftermarket gear sets. The TracLock LSD is fully rebuildable using OEM clutches and associated hardware.

Fitment: 2015-2024 Ford F150 with Super 8.8" Rear End

For Super 8.8" Rear Ends Only: this limited slip differential will only fit 2015-2024 F150s with a 34-spline Super 8.8" rear end. It will not fit F150s with a 9.75" rear end. If you need assistance with your truck's rear end type, please call us directly at 623-434-5277.

For 3.31 and Higher Ratios: this LSD will only work on F150s with a 3.31 or higher gear ratio, including 3.55, 3.73, 4.11, 4.56, etc. It will not work on trucks with a 3.15 or 3.27 gear ratio.

Friction Modifier and Master Install Kit Recommended: Yukon strongly recommends using their Friction Modifier with their LSD to provide the best reliability and clutch lifespan. A Master Install Kit is also recommended to replace the factory bearings and shims.

My truck (23 F150 Coyote) has 3.15 gears. Your description says this unit will not work with 3.15 gears. I am planning on going with 3.73s. Is there some inherent reason that a differential originally equipped with 3.15s cannot use this unit?

Typically lower gear ratios are cut differently and most likely will have contact issues. We have not tried this on a lower ratio, and are only advertising the ratios that the manufacturer lists as working with this unit.

2018 2.7L 10 speed auto 4x4 f150 xlt. Axle code 19 i believe 3.55 open dif 8.8. So this should work for me... my question is I want an lsd for "normal" traction not for heavy duty off roading. With this lsd chatter driving under normal conditions?

This TracLock works much like the factory units where it's an open diff until one tire starts to lose traction. We have not received any complaints of chatter during normal street use with this unit.

Yukon does not give their differentials power ratings, but this unit is definitely much stronger than the factory units.

Talking to Yukon about this part, they say you've had your description wrong for a long time and needs to be updated. This is NOT the duragrip unit, it is not released yet. The part number on your listing is essentially for a modified mustang unit that is part of the traclock series. According to Yukon, the life of the traclock is approx 75k where the duragrip will be 150k

We contacted Yukon, and you are correct on all counts. We have updated our listing. However, we got the information that this was a "DuraGrip" unit from Yukon's site and data. They specifically said that this unit was a DuraGrip on their own site, and we based our information on that. See this screenshot. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

If you have a 2015-2020 F150 with a Super 8.8", 12-bolt rear end, then this LSD will fit your truck. Just keep in mind both the 9.75" and Super 8.8" have a 12-bolt rear end, and that's not a great identifier. If your truck is equipped with a Super 8.8" rear end, then this differential will fit. However, 2018 F150s could come with with either a 9.75" rear end or a Super 8.8" rear end, and it's not based on submodel. Please verify which rear end your truck is equipped with before ordering. Can you install this LSD on a truck with the E-locker? I don’t like the open diff in normal driving and I can’t ride around with the locker on lol

You technically can, however, you will need to find something to with the wiring inside the differential and deal with not having selectable locking.

Is this an electronic locker with a switch/button in the dash?

It is not. This differential is a clutch-type Limited Slip Differential, not a selectable locker or E-Locker. Unfortunately, there are not currently any aftermarket selectable lockers for the rear Super 8.8" in the F150s. You may be able to retrofit an OEM locker and run it off a switch, but you would need a custom install and wiring.

This is a direct fit for the super 8.8? No trimming of the retaining clips or slots in the gears is needed.

This is a direct fit for the F150's Super 8.8" rear end. This rear differential is essentially an LSD for the IRS Super 8.8" rears that already has all the necessary modifications done to make it work with the solid-axle, c-clip Super 8.8" trucks.

What is the difference between the Yukon Dura Grip and the Yukon Trac-lok posi-traction LSD's?

The Trac-Loks use a different carrier and case design than the Dura Grips, which are closer to an OEM-style carrier. Unfortunately, Yukon does not currently offer Trac-Lok systems for the Super 8.8" F150s.

So this unit is made for 2015+ F150 34 spline rear diffs?

This differential is for 2015-2020 F150s with a Super 8.8" rear end. Spline count is not helpful in this situation, since both the 9.75" and Super 8.8" have 34-spline axles and 12 cover bolts. The easiest way to tell the difference is visually. The 9.75" rear end is tapered to the passenger's side. The Super 8.8" is symmetrical.
