Exactly as advertised, however the install is a bit more involved than expected but still doable by almost anyone, if you have a helper that’s best. Also, you likely only need these if you’re planning to run a 285 or larger tire...it is tight with a 275 but should. I played it safe and installed even with a 275.

Good construction, easy to install once the old ones are cut out. But the rears still rub with my 285/70's. They don't go back quite far enough. I didn't read the description on these so I won't ding em haha.

Great product as BDS is top notch. Perfect fitment Front crash bars you just need to loosen front bumper, and for the side you want to work on first, remove all the bolts on ONE SIDE - leaving the other side loose but nuts still on holding the bumper, and slide the crash bar out, vice versa, you DO NOT have to drop the bumper down at all. The rear crash bars you do have to remove the liner etc and it DOES REQUIRE cutting the crash bar in half to remove as there is no way to remove without doing so. The body of the truck is in the way, impossible to slide out. I highly recommend the product, and its half the price as other crash bars!

These weren't fun to install, but it wasn't horrible. I ended up not cutting the old bars, but instead knocked in the corner of the fender with a hammer just a touch and the old bars slid out. I was getting rubbing in reverse both on and off-road, and now I have the clearance I need!

The BDS intrusion beams work exactly as described. The improved wheel well space allowed me to fitt 33" tires.

These beams are a great replacement to fit larger tires at an affordable price. I installed these in conjunction with faction fab 1.5in spacers and can go lock to lock with no rubbing on 285 70/ r17 tires. Depending on how to go about installing it can be a challenge either way. I opted to cut out the old ones, which ended up being very time consuming. The space available for tools in minimal, so it can be hard to get a sawzall or angle grinder in there. Installation took me the better part of 3hrs. (Mainly because if cheap sawzall blades). You CAN install these without removing the front bumper, you just have to get creative with how to fit tools in. But the new bars will slide in without removing the bumper. Great fit while keeping OEM look.

Worked perfectly no more tire rub on my ranger since getting offset wheels BDS makes great stuff. Super easy install took about 45 minutes though I am a Ford tech with 23 years of experience and I did the work in the shop so I could see how doing this in your driveway could be harder.

Here's the best way to remove the old ones. Use a plasma cutter, Took me all of 10 minutes per side to cut the old ones out. Sawsall/ziz wheel would have taken a lot longer. I like to work smart, not hard.

Very happy with the results. I did end up having to remove the rear BDS crash bar to fit bigger tires, but the front BDS bars give me enough clearance without having to do any cutting. I have 285/70/r17's.

Customer Question Will this fit a 265/70/17 tire with +15 offset rims on a stock ranger (no lift).

Asked by: Franco - 3/6/2024
Customer Answer We have not tried to fit that combination wheel and tire on a stock height Ranger, so we can't guarantee you will have no issues, but the crash bars do allow clearance for a wider tire. We have run a 285 width tire so we don't see forsee any issues with a 265 you are considering running. Give our sales team a call if you have any follow-up questions.

Customer Question My goal is to put 285/70R17 tires on my stock wheels and the bushwacker fender flares for a rugged look. Will these intrusion beams work if I get a 2.5 inch leveling kit and 1.5 inch wheel spacers? Or would you suggest a different combination?

Asked by: Herakles - 7/21/2020
Customer Answer We can't strictly guarantee that you won't get any rub with that wheel and tire combination, even with BDS's intrusion beams, since the 1.5" wheel spacers do push the apex of the tire out quite a bit and we have not tried the combination ourselves.

Customer Question Is it realistic to think I can fit 275/70/17 on stock wheels with this kit and no mods to the crash bars?

Asked by: Wilson - 6/11/2020
Customer Answer As long as you're running some sort of leveling kit (I'd recommend at least a 2"), you should be fine with that wheel and tire combination with these crash bars.

Asked by: John C - 4/9/2020
Customer Answer Unfortunately, we do not have an install video on these as of yet. You can check out BDS's Instructions here.

Customer Question With the stock intrusion beams cut out, will the BDS intrusion beams install without removing the front bumper?

Asked by: MDW - 2/10/2020
Customer Answer It's hard to say, since we haven't done it ourselves. Most of the front bumper removal is to get clearance to slide the stock beam out. If yours is already chopped, you may not have that problem. However, we can't 100% guarantee that you won't have to remove the front bumper.

Customer Question I have 275/55/r20 on my ranger and am only getting rubbing when in revsrse will this fix this?

Asked by: Squirrel - 1/23/2020
Customer Answer It really depends on where you're rubbing. If you have 20" wheels with a low or negative offset, you could be rubbing on the back side of the wheel well itself of the plastic trim. If that's the case, these intrusion beams won't help you. If you are only rubbing on the rear crash bar, then this kit should help.

Customer Question Will the 2019/2020 Ford Ranger BDS Intrusion Beams #123614 void warranties or insurance by installing these?

Asked by: PBB - 12/18/2019
Customer Answer All warranty decisions are up to individual Ford Service Centers. Given that the rear intrusion beams require cutting out the stock beams for install, there is a potential for issues. Your best bet would be to contact your local service center and see what kind of leeway they're willing to give.
