Customer Question On this 6 inch kit. Is the white F150 sitting on 37s or 35s

Asked by: Truck - 11/13/2025
Customer Answer Those pictures were supplied by BDS for the kit so we don't have exact details on it, but they appear to be 37" tires.

Customer Question I see there is an option for a carrier baring drop bracket. I have a 2016 f150 ecoboost 3.5l, supercrew will i need the carrier baring drop bracket??

Asked by: Seth - 6/4/2020
Customer Answer That depends on whether or not your truck has a two-piece driveshaft. If you have a SuperCrew 5.5ft bed truck, then you likely have a one-piece driveshaft and a carrier bearing bracket will not be required. If you have a SuperCrew 6.5ft bed, you likely have a two-piece driveshaft and will need the carrier bearing drop bracket.

Customer Question I really want a level truck once lifted. No front or rear rake. Any idea what size blocks are used on the Ford photos up top for this BDS lift? Primarily the white or silver trucks?

Asked by: Nick - 3/17/2020
Customer Answer We can't outright guarantee that you'll be 100% dead-level with any suspension lift kit, since a lot of factors are involved in determining stance (especially general wear and tear on the stock leaf packs and front suspension). However, in general, the 4" rear block option will typically get you closer to a dead-level stance. The 5" rear block tends to provide some amount of front rake.

Customer Question If i was to buy this setup for my 2015 ford f150 4x4 king ranch, could i run 37s on a 20x12 wheel with a -44 offset without any rubbing issues? And also could i buy the coilovers for it later on?

Asked by: Soham - 9/20/2019
Customer Answer You would likely rub pretty badly with that wheel and tire combination and this kit. The biggest tire we recommend to avoid rubbing is a 35x12.50". You could absolutely purchase BDS's 6" coilovers at a later date.

Customer Question I have a 2015 f150 non auto 4wd and will this kit fit on my f150 I already ordered this kit and didn’t realize it till now

Asked by: Gar - 7/18/2019
Customer Answer Yep. This kit will work fine on your truck if it's not equipped with the 4Auto system.

Customer Question This kit won’t except factory 17 or 18 inch wheels, so does that mean no 17s at all or can we use aftermarket 17 wheels? I have 17x9s with a -12mm offset and 4.5 inches of backspace. If this kit won’t except these 17s then will the 4” lift version of this kit work?

Asked by: clf343 - 6/17/2019
Customer Answer Neither BDS nor ourselves have confirmed the fitment of any 17" wheels with this kit. We have also not confirmed any 17" wheel fitment on the 4" kit, either. Both kits require at least an 18" wheel with a maximum backspace of 5" to 5.50" to clear a 12.50" wide tire.

Customer Question Would it be possible to add the Fox 2.5 Reservoir Coilovers to this kit in the future if I wanted to?

Asked by: Jack - 2/17/2018
Customer Answer Yup. You can always add the BDS Fox 2.5 Coilovers for 6" lifts to this kit down the road, if you want. You'll just replace the kit's strut spacer and your stock coilover assembly with the 2.5s when the time comes.

Customer Question Does this kit increase the factory turn radius? If so, how much? You carry a lot of lifts from different companies, do any of them do a better job keeping turn radius and geometry close to stock?

Asked by: Bret - 5/31/2017
Customer Answer The lift itself only increases your turn radius by a slight degree because of the way the knuckles are designed. What hurts turn radius more than the lift is the bigger wheel and tire combinations folks tend to throw on. We don't have specific specs for turning radius due to its variability with wheel and tire combinations.

Customer Question Have 6 inch BDS lift with 5" rear blocks, spacers in front, still has a bit of rake. Could I leave spacers and replace o.e. coilovers with Fox 2.0 set to 1 inch lift and get front level?

Asked by: DC - 8/21/2016
Customer Answer You absolutely could. The only thing you have to keep in mind is that the Fox 2.0s are preset at 2" of ride height out of the box, so you'd need to get the Fox Spanner Wrench to set them to 1" of extra ride height over stock.

Customer Question Thanks. I will probably just leave the stock tires for now but in the event I do change the stock tires I may go with the Toyo open country LT285/75R18 (35X11.5R18). Will these fit with the 1.5" spacers?

Asked by: Kurt - 6/21/2016
Customer Answer A 285/75R18 is technically like a 34.8x11.2" tire, but in general, that should clear the knuckles just fine as long as you use 1.50" wheel spacers.

Customer Question I know this kit states they the stock 18" wheels cannot be used but is it possible to do so with wheel spacers? And if so what thickness? Would like to know in the event I have to take off my 22x12s for any reason, for instance I have a flat and need to run the stocks for a few days.

Asked by: Kurt - 6/20/2016
Customer Answer It's really going to depend on the tires you're using with your factory wheels, but you could feasibly use a stock wheel in conjunction with a wheel spacer and clear the kit's knuckles. We'd recommend using at least a 1.50" Spacer so that you can avoid trimming your factory studs.
