Improved Low-End Torque and Throttle Response

While your 3.5L EcoBoost F150's stock intercooler does a decent job of flowing air, it's cold-side charge pipe does not, which is why aFe developed this version of their Bladerunner cold side intercooler tube specifically for the 2015-2016 F150s with 3.5L EcoBoost V6. This potent performance upgrade improves the airflow coming out of your truck's intercooler to give you some excellent gains in low-end torque, making it one of the most cost-effective modifications on the market for your F150. The aFe Bladerunner Cold-Side Intercooler tube installs as as a direct bolt-on replacement for stock and is designed to connect to both your factory intercooler and throttle body.

3" Diameter Aluminum Tubing with Black Powder Coat Finish

The cold side tube doesn't just have a larger diameter than stock, it also features smoother bends and more efficient design that improves the air volume and velocity going into your truck's engine. The Bladerunner tube measures 3" in diameter and is mandrel-bent to minimize restrictions and back pressure. The Bladerunner cold side tube is made from aluminum with black wrinkle powder coat finish that allows it hold up in high-boost applications and to resist corrosion. The aFe cold side tube comes with couplers, clamps, and installation instructions that make it extremely easy to install.

2016 F150

Product was well built. No burn throughs on the weld joints that would restrict flow. AFE just needs to make the riser a 1/4" longer and give you hose clamps that were slightly larger. The hose clamps they sent me barely fit over the boot before I even slipped them over the pipe connections. I ended up having to use the factory boot and hose clamps on top because the pipe was too short and the boots they gave you were not long enough to make up that distance. I favored the bottom as much as I could to make up for it, but still wasn't enough.

can this lead to failure of a part that would void that parts warranty from ford?

Asked by: Jaron - 5/3/2016

In general, a basic bolt-on like this cold-side tube won't have an effect on your F150's overall powertain warranty. However, all warranty decisions are up to individual dealerships and you should speak to your service department to see what kind of leeway they'll give you when it comes to aftermarket parts.
