Inexpensive & Quick Way To Boost Horsepower

You can always trust the brilliant intake engineers over at K&N Filters to design something special for your Ford F150, and the 77-Series High-Flow Performance Air Intake Kit does not disappoint. Adding a cold-air intake is a perfect way to get some easy power and performance gains for your truck. The 77-Series intakes are up-gunned versions of K&N's more standard cold air intake kits. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction as they smooth and straighten air flow, allowing your truck's engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the restrictive OEM air filter assembly. On top of their impressive power gains, this Cold Air Intake Kit improves your truck's fuel economy and throttle response, making it one of the most effective upgrades you can grab for your 4.6L F150. Currently NOT legal in CA or NY -- We will NOT ship to these states.

Performance Filter with Heat Shield and Inlet Tube

When they designed their 77-Series kits, K&N dug up the largest air filter that they could possibly fit in place of your truck's factory air box and built the rest of the system around it. The filter is one of K&N's classic high-flow oiled systems that brings in a much larger volume of air than stock along with improved filtration. Along with the filter, each K&N 77-Series kit comes with a full heat shield assembly and a highly efficient inlet tube that works together to promote improved airflow into your truck's engine over the stock air box. A bonus about this kit is that the filters are washable and reusable, or you can purchase replacements.

Why will this NOT work on 2 valve 4.6 engine?

Asked by: Drew - 10/7/2018

Different MAF sensor design and different routing, mostly. Unfortunately, K&N does not have a kit specific to the 2-valve 4.6L F150s.

My truck has a sensor on the intake (2010 f150 4.6Lstx 3v) does that get removed when installing this product? If so, will I need to reprogram my computer and O2 sensors? If programming is necessary, is this something I would need to have a shop do or is this something that is fairly simple to do on my own? Currently i have just the k&n oem replacement filter and ever since i installed it i have had a "bank2 02 lean" code with check engine i assume its getti g too much air so that is why i ask

Asked by: blahblahblah - 7/24/2015

The kit reuses your truck's stock MAF sensor and does not require tuning or reprogramming your truck. Installation is extremely simple and only requires common hand tools and about a full hour, if this is your first time installing an intake kit. If you are currently having a lean code, it's more than likely a bad sensor, as the drop-in filters don't alter airflow that dramatically. You should, however, get your problems sorted out by your mechanic or Ford Service Center before you order.
