Customer Question I currently am running these icon 2.5 coilovers on my wifes pickup. If i was wanting a softer (plusher) ride, could i back off the preload and add a spacer to take up the difference to keep the 2.5” lift?

Asked by: James enlow - 12/3/2024
Customer Answer Taking preload off can sometimes help with ride quality, but we have never tried running the Icon coilovers with level spacers installed so we couldn't guarantee the spacer wouldn't negate the softness you may gain by backing preload off. You might consider having a shock tuning company revalve and possibly respring them or consider swapping to a 2.0 coilover if wanting something that rides a little more comfortable on road.

Customer Question Would I need any additional parts i.e. Camber adjuster if I go higher than 2.5 " ? wheel alinement sometimes calls for camber adjustment past 2.5 inches. The stock 2011 + F-150's do not have a way to adjust camber .It is a static bolt holding stock camber numbers

Asked by: Steve - 6/9/2017
Customer Answer Camber is adjusted via slotted holes on the subframe where the LCAs mount, effectively repositioning the LCAs to fix your camber. That being said, most basic leveling systems (up to 2.5") generally only need alignment adjustments for toe to avoid excessive tire wear. An alignment is still recommended after installation of these coilovers.

Customer Question i have a f150 with a 4 inch lift. could i use these coilovers for it?

Asked by: alex ibarra - 10/29/2016
Customer Answer As long as your kit comes with strut spacers and you plan to keep the strut spacers, then you could use these coilovers in place of the stock strut assembly. However, the ICONs are not long enough to be used in a standalone application.
