2012 Ford F-150 XLT
The exhaust is on a 2012 Ford F-150 XLT Supercrew, when I first put the system on the truck I was happy with it, it sounded good but I really didn't see a whole lot of performance enhancement out of the exhaust. A week later the exhaust began to rust, the truck has currently been on the truck for 5-6 weeks and it looks disgusting, covered in rust like it has been on there for over 10 years. If you are looking for an exhaust that will sound good and last in appearance, I strongly recommend that you don't purchase this product. The product manufacturer only warranties the system against it rusting through.

6 months after purchasing and installing this exhaust it has extreme rust all over it. Contacted MBRP and they said it was normal for 409 stainless steel to rust like this and wouldn't warranty it. Contacted Stage 3 and they said wow that's rusty and they contacted the manufacture for me and were told the same thing, that's normal. 409 Stainless steel is the cheapest form of stainless steel out there and will rust. I would suggest buying something in higher quality and aluminum or purchase this and have the ugliest corroded exhaust out of all your friends. This exhaust is a waste of money........

Easy easy easy install. Took about an hour to take off the old exhaust and install the new. Very mild drone compared to others. Exhaust sounds great. Deep and throaty under acceleration but at cruising speeds it is alot quiter. Very happy with it. Sounds great and looks even better.

I installed this on my 3.5eb. Chose this because of the resonator, I didn't want the exhaust to be too raspy. Install was easy, did it on the ground with just the passenger side jacked up and the rear wheel off. I had to cut 1 off the pipe connecting to the rear of the muffler to make the hangers line up right, could have even gone 1.5 inches. Took just a minute with a sawzall. Sounds real good. A little louder than I expected at idle but surprisingly quiet overall. Zero drone on the highway. I am very happy with it!

Customer Question What is this exhaust like compared to stock? I am looking for a new exhaust to add a little sound and maybe a bit of power as I add more performance parts. I would like something that when i get on it i can hear a nice growl but i enjoy being able to turn the radio and ac off and sit in peace and quiet. Any suggestions or is my best bet staying with stock?

Asked by: Frank - 4/20/2016
Customer Answer It's louder and more aggressive than stock at basically any RPM, but not to an overpowering degree. Interior cabin drone is extremely minimal, though you will notice the kit if you're just cruising without your stereo on, though again, there's just enough sound to let you know something aftermarket is going on, not so much that it's annoying or distracting. However, peaceful and quiet it ain't. If you're looking for something that doesn't have any drone whatsoever, then you may want to consider a system that keeps the stock resonator like Corsa's Sport Systems, Magnaflow's single-exit kit, or Bank's Monster Kits.

Customer Question Can i get a black tip with this package instead of a crome one to go with this exhaust system. My truck is all blacked out and a crome tip would look funny. Or do I just have to buy another tip that is black?

Asked by: Polish - 1/27/2016
Customer Answer Unfortunately, this kit is not available out of the box with a black tip. One would have to be ordered separately. You can browse our F150 exhaust tips here.

Customer Question Good Morning, I recently had this exhaust put on my 2014 f-150 and just have a quick question. When the dealer put it on i took notice to he hanger rods sticking out the other side of the rubber hanger. Today when i looked it was set back in half way and not sticking out the other side. Is this normal or should it be the whole way through? Just want to make sure its not normal before i call the dealer. Any suggestions would be appreciated. FYI I do love the exhaust so far!!

Asked by: Scott - 6/30/2015
Customer Answer Some hangar movement is normal as the metal expands and contracts with its hot and cold cycles. If you are noticing an abnormal amount of movement, you may want to consider double-checking that all the clamps and bolts are tight on the kit.

Customer Question Will this exhaust kit fit a 2013 STX Super Crew?

Asked by: Robert - 3/31/2015
Customer Answer As long as your truck has a 5.0L V8 and either a 145" or 157" wheelbase, this kit will fit, regardless of submodel.

Customer Question Can you get this system in all black like the Raptors?

Asked by: adam 2011 f150 5.0 - 3/22/2014
Customer Answer We actually already have part numbers and pricing for the future MBRP Black 5.0L Cat-Back kits, we're just waiting on MBRP to finish up design and testing so we can get up on the site.

Customer Question I want an exhaust with little to no drone, will this system give me that? Right now I have a dynomax bullet in place of stock resonator and 18" magnaflow and it drones more than I like when towing. Thanks

Asked by: Eric, 2011 screw f150 5.0 - 3/18/2014
Customer Answer This MBRP kit actually has pretty low drone, so it's a decent choice. Part of your problem is that our quieter kits that fit the factory pipe may not fit your truck, depending on how it's set up. Your choice is also going to depend on your preferred tip configuration as well. I guess what I'm really getting at is that your best bet is to give us a call directly at 1-877-578-2433, so we can get more specific about what you need and what you're willing to do given your current exhaust situation.

Customer Question witch exhaust is quieter and has less drone, this or the AFE mach force?

Asked by: matt - 1/18/2014
Customer Answer I drove the FX4 5.0L with both systems installed and I think the MBRP offers less drone at cruising speeds.
