2020 F150
I had Roush Fox 2.0 Leveling shocks on my 2017 and these Ford Performance Tuned Fox leveling shocks on my 2020. The regular fox seemed to do better on small bumps and potholes whereas the Ford Perf shocks did better on hills and such. Ford Performance said it would be closer to a 2nd Gen raptor which seems to make sense because it was smoother on hilly roads. So if you want better pothole rebounds and small bump rebounds get the Reg Stage 1, if you do more faster offroad with hills, get the Ford Tuned. Both were a HUGE improvement over Bilstein 5100's and stock.

2020 Ford F150
These shocks are great, with one flaw. After spending considerable time researching shock options for my F150, I chose these for a few key reasons. First, Fox shocks have linear valving, which makes them less harsh over small bumps and road imperfections compared to digressive shocks like Bilstein or Icon. Since I live in an area with concrete roads and uneven expansion joints, small bump compliance is important to me. Second, these Ford Performance coilovers feature a lighter spring rate combined with firmer shock valving to compensate, compared to the regular Fox 2.0s. These coilovers have a 550-pound spring, while the regular Fox 2.0s use a 600-pound spring. Ford tuned these coilovers to meet their ride standards, resulting in a feel similar to a 2nd Gen pre-live valve Raptor, though with less travel. The rear end is stiffer than a Raptor’s because of the firmer leaf springs. Overall, my truck is very comfortable on the road and does a great job absorbing bumps on dirt roads. So, what's the flaw? The coilovers came preset with too much preload. After installing them, I drove 500 miles to let the springs settle, but they were still an inch higher than my previous 2" leveling puck with the same tires. Because the coils are too tight for a rental spring compressor and using a spanner wrench to adjust them under compression isn’t recommended, I had to take them to a shop to adjust the preload. Each 360-degree rotation of the collar lowered the ride height by 1/8". After eight full rotations, I reached the correct ride height. Before these adjustments, the truck experienced harsh downward travel, likely due to maxing out the droop travel in certain situations. Once the adjustment was made, the truck's ride became absolutely perfect. I give these shocks a 4-star rating because they are a great product, but I had to pay a shop to fix the preload setting.

pro: the truck is welded to the ground on road. i have not yet been able to test the off road capability. body roll is almost completely eliminated. the ride is smooth and comfortable compared to alot of other systems. con: while expected to be stiff, it almost feels like they were meant for a heavier truck, or at least a truck with a really heavy bumper

Just put the Fox 2.0 leveling coil overs on and the Fox 2.0 rear shocks. I put on a set of 295/65r/20 tires and everything clears perfect, no rubbing at all. Truck turned out better than I thought. I agree with everyone that says the truck feels planted to the ground and eliminates almost all body roll. Very happy with my purchase.

Customer Question Are these coilovers rebuildable? If need to replace, are the shocks only available or do you have to purchase coils as package?

Asked by: Scott - 2/3/2024
Customer Answer Typically the cost to rebuild a 2.0 series shock will be the same if not more than just buying a new replacement. Replacements are available through Ford Performance, or you could also purchase the non-Ford Performance Fox 2.0 suspension and find replacements pretty easily.

Customer Question Will this kit work with factory upper control arms or are UCA's for 0-2"/2-4" recommended? I have a set of UCA's 2-4". Deciding on which is best to use.

Asked by: Scott - 2/3/2024
Customer Answer Upper control arms are not necessary, but can help improve suspension geometry helping making alignment easier as let the suspension articulate better without binding which can help ride quality. You can use your stock uca, or any uca rated to work at 2' of height. Based off your question you can use both a 0-2", or the 2-4" uca you have as both ranges you mention cover a 2" level.

Customer Question I would like to keep stock 20 inch rims. On 2020 F150 4WD Lariat. Stock tire is 275/55/20. Would 275/60/20 and or 275/65/20 tires fit with this kit?

Asked by: Steve - 10/4/2023
Customer Answer Either of those options will work fine with that kit.

Customer Question Is there anyway I could order just the front “ford performance tuned” coilovers? I don’t need the back, but I’d like to spend the extra buck in the ford tuned ones

Asked by: Mitchell Milbrand - 9/20/2022
Customer Answer Unfortunately, Ford Performance does not sell the front coilovers as a separate item.

Customer Question Can I leave the rear of my truck stock or do I need something else for the rear as well? I just want a decent level.

Asked by: Austin - 4/18/2022
Customer Answer You do not need to do anything to add ride height to the rear of your truck with this kit or add any other parts, if you do not want to.

Customer Question Will these work on a 2021-2022 Ford F-150 Tremor?

Asked by: Jason - 1/3/2022
Customer Answer They will not. The 2021 F150s have a different suspension geometry. Fox is planning on coming out with 2021-2022 specific coilovers here soon, and Ford Performance will follow sometime after that.

Customer Question Will the rear blocks need to be upgraded with this kit in order to keep some rake? What would be recommended for keeping factory rake?

Asked by: RT - 10/29/2021
Customer Answer The front coilovers in this kit provide up to 2" of lift which still leaves a hint of rake. In general, it takes 2.5" of leveling to get a 2015-2020 F150 to a "dead-level" stance. If you want to keep a stock-style rake, in theory you would need a 3.5" rear block or a 2" add-a-leaf kit. However, the rear shocks included in this kit are only rated to handle 1" of rear lift, so you would not be able to get back to a stock-style rake. The biggest rear block you could feasibly use is a 2.50" rear block, which would still give you back a good amount of rake.

Customer Question Will this work on the 2021 F150's?

Asked by: BT - 9/12/2021
Customer Answer We do not have a fitment confirmation on the 2021 F150s. From our understanding, Fox will be releasing new part numbers for the 2021 F150s sometime in the near future.

Customer Question Will these fit raptor takeoffs with 34.5x11.4 Toyo at3s?

Asked by: Kup - 8/11/2021
Customer Answer We can't guarantee that you won't see rub with that setup, but you can probably pull it off with some amount of trimming.

Customer Question Will these perform well up front with a heavy (375lb) steel bumper? I'm looking for a coilover that will handle the extra weight while also partly level the truck.

Asked by: Jacob - 12/27/2020
Customer Answer The kit will work fine with a heavy bumper. Your only potential issue is that with a bumper that heavy, you won't get the same ride height out of the front coilovers as they're rated for on a standard truck.

Customer Question Are there for 2WD?

Asked by: The F150 Guy - 10/30/2020
Customer Answer This will bolt up to an RWD truck, however, you will get slightly more ride height out of the coilovers than what they're rated for on a 4WD. We also strongly recommend using a 1.5" rear block or 4WD take-off rear block to keep the rear shocks in an optimal travel range.

Customer Question How is this setup different (specifically) than the regular fox stage 1 setup?

Asked by: Martin G - 8/25/2020
Customer Answer Not much, honestly. Supposedly, the Ford Fox 2.0s coilovers are little a softer than the standard Fox 2.0s, but I don't really know how much difference that makes out there in the real world. My guess would be "not much", so you choice will depend mostly on how much you're willing to pay vs. availability.
