The extra power is awesome! Now that's out of the way, I'm going to give my thoughts. This has been a review I've been considering for a long time. The fit and finish of this kit is great. it looks nice, is straight forward to install, and the instructions complete. The instructions are outdated for the map upload portion, but they are complete. I decided to throw on 1 size smaller pulley since I'm at a little higher altitude. I ran into real high Intake Air Temps (IAT's) with this kit. I felt the cooling system was completely inadequate. I bought a heat exchanger that was more than 3 times the size, upped my line size to 1inch, put in a way bigger intercooler pump, and even ended up doing the "Flowinator" modified intercooler from Department of Boost in the blower to accept bigger lines and get better flow. That's what it took to get the IAT's down to an acceptable level. I still plan on doing more to drive down IAT's. I did not like the tune the kit came with. I had my truck custom tuned by Turbo Labs; they were able to squeeze out about 30 more WHP and the custom tune is safer IMO. All the being said, I gave this 4 stars because there's no doubt I'm making good power, have been running this kit for a year now, and I don't believe there are very many kits out there where you wouldn't run into these same things that I've worked through. Now to the dyno numbers. Keep in mind my truck is running 35in tires, 4.56 gears, and we are at nearly 5K feet elevation; all of these factors drive down WHP. You can see the lowest base WHP numbers before the blower. My truck was running long tube headers, K&N intake, BBK throttle body, and a 5 star tune. The higher HP number on the graph shows my truck with all the upgrades listed as well as the blower with factory size pulley (3.25in). The next dyno graph picture shows what my truck made with a 3.0 pulley and running meth. (Meth was worth about 30 extra WHP). I hope I didn't lose too many people in the details and I hope this helps you make the right decision for you.

Customer Question If the f150 is flex fuel and has this installed with the tune that it comes with can I still used 87, E85, 91 etc.. or would I only be able to use the highest octane 91? Is the flex fuel still an option?

Asked by: T - 11/14/2023
Customer Answer The tuning that Edelbrock includes with this supercharger kit is recommended you use 91/93 octane premium fuel. If you want to run E85 fuel you will need to have the truck dyno tuned to ensure there are no issues.

Customer Question Would this kit work on a 2010 f250 4x4 5.4l?

Asked by: Davin - 5/21/2021
Customer Answer It will not fit out of the box. To get this supercharger to function on a 5.4L Super Duty, you would need a good amount of custom fabrication and a custom dyno tune at the very least.

Customer Question Does this come with instructions for installation? Also would you recommend a shop installing this, or is it a pretty simple setup/besides the dyno tune? Thanks!

Asked by: Colin - 5/7/2020
Customer Answer Edelbrock does include instructions. You can check them out here. As long as you're comfortable with removing your truck's intake manifold and not dropping a 10mm socket down into your truck's heads, then you can probably handle this install. This kit comes with a tuning device with an Edelbrock tune, so dyno tuning is not required. The only potential issue is that to get Edelbrock's 1-year warranty, this kit needs to be installed by a shop with ASE certified techs. If you happen to be an ASE certified tech, then you're likely fine.

Customer Question I have Kooks long tube headers and the SCT livewire programmer I purchased through Stage 3. Would you guys be able to help get me a custom tune that would work with this supercharger and my headers? Or would I have to find a local tuner to help me out with the tuning?

Asked by: Tyler - 7/19/2018
Customer Answer Unfortunately, 5-Star can't tune for the E-Force Superchargers. You'd have to seek a dyno tune.

Customer Question what would the impact of this be on towing?

Asked by: Rich - 10/2/2017
Customer Answer It's really going to depend on what you're towing. The extra power will help with pulling, but if you're towing/hauling something heavy up an incline for an extended period time, you do risk putting a ton of stress on your truck's motor and drivetrain.

Customer Question is there any reason it won't work on a 4 wheel drive?

Asked by: wade miller - 11/28/2014
Customer Answer The oil filter location with the supercharger hardware and the front differential all cause fitment problems, and the kit doesn't fit 4WD F150s out of the box. That being said, all you need to do to get this system to fit and function properly on a 4WD F150 is purchase the Edelbrock Oil Filter Relocation Kit separately.

Customer Question your kit says 2wd , dose this mean it is for a 2 wheel dr truck only ? 2010 F150 5.4 4x4

Asked by: marcello / f150 platinum - 4/30/2014
Customer Answer Correct. Out of the box, this kit will only fit a 2WD/RWD truck. If you want to install this kit on a 4WD F150, you'll need the additional Edelbrock Oil Filter Relocation Kit.
